this video was filmed back in june when i first moved to japan. it was an overwhelming time, both with stress and excitement. i can't believe i made it out here after thinking of japan as my second home my whole life. i had no idea i would end up moving here after college, but here i am.
this is my one year adventure, that feels like a side quest, but maybe more like a DLC where we are unlocking a completely new gameplay here.

Sooo cool, congrats for moving to Tokyo! I used to live there for two years as well, but then went back to Germany. A few years later now, I returned with my Japanese husband and we started living in Shizuoka like 4 months ago. I enjoy to watch you setting up your apartment. Have fun!!

Could you explain the process of moving to Japan? I plan on moving in a year, I want to live in an apartment though I do have family there.
the process was simpler for me bc i speak japanese and also have family here, but my coworkers who don’t speak got rejected by several places before finally finding an apartment. depending on your situation, i’d look for a realtor that meets your need that will help you through the process. if you have family, that can be a huge help!! and when in doubt, research on reddit. there are lots of communities and threads about moving to japan with helpful resources. hope things work out for you :))

I finish college within the next few months + i plan on doing a level 3 course here in the uk too but i plan to get an apartment in tokyo and does anyone have any tips on schools i can go to to improve my japanese within the next few years? And the best apartment areas ifyk what i mean😭 (18 in 2025 so im pref moving by. 19/20)
