This is an overview of The Empire and one of the biggest challenges for this one was trying to pack the most amount of information possible into the episode. Going into the entire history of The Empire would require a really long video so I´m planning on making separate episodes for the different events and main characters: "The Great War against Chaos", "Balthasar Gelt" or "The Skaven Wars", for example. Hey guys. How about you follow this video with one in the future dedicated to the herald of Sigmar himself, Valten the Exalted. Hes one of the most epic empire heroes during the end times and my personal favorite empire hero. His Exalted of Sigmar mod looks absolutely amazing. Plus if you do this, you guys will be the 1st to properly feature his in game model. Maybe end it with his involvement and final duel with his ultimate nemesis Archaon the everchosen. That would be so awesome!

@@Luizguilherme-iz9ylin lore prior to the end times. The phoenix king Finubar was making progress amending relations with the dwarves. Unfortunately, he died in the end times and the alliance broke down after Tyrion flipped out on Thorgrim over his and Alarielle's daughter being nabbed.
The Empire is basically if the Holy Roman Empire was surrounded by fantasy monsters.

I know this is a bit late, but there's a mod on the workshop that removes every new world faction to drastically reduce AI turn times if you just wanna play in the old world.

I never really thought much of the Empire in my TW campaigns since there are so many magical and beastly factions, it really makes you think about how amazing it is. Despite the numerous horrors of the world, man always perseveres. Loved the video! The voice acting is superb as always.
They're actually pretty tough to play in campaign. A lot of other races have clearly dominant units and you can spam armies full of them + whatever support they need to work and dominate battlefields. Dwarven artillery/ranged units, wood elf ranged units, high elf dragons and ranged units... dark elf... ranged units. Ranged units are great is the point. But the Empire can't really do that, none of their units clearly dominate, you really need armies that are designed to work together, with every unit having a role that they need to fill. It's fun but it's a lot more complicated than, say, the dwarfs, where you build a strong front line, park your ranged units behind them, and just win.
@@chriswhinery925 the problem is that the armies of man should have far bigger units then elves and dwarves only to be outnumbered by orks and skaven as tw is at moment they just lack behind lets hope the redsign helps. Its just sad to see them die in campain
@@Siegberg91 The problem is the Empire is missing a lot of supporting units and Legendary Lords. Knightly Orders, Nuln Iron Companies and Ironsides, Imperial Foot, the Celestial Hurricanum, the Landship, Master Engineers, Kurt Helborg and Ludwig Schwarzhelm... among others.
@@chriswhinery925 Which is why they're the most satisfying to play in campaign, in addition to strategic decision making on the map, you actually need decent tactics, formations and unit coordination to do well in battles. The AI is stupid so it honestly isn't that hard, but it's infinitely more fun having your army play a concert in stead of bashing on a drum. The empire unit voices, the battle and campaign music all mesh together extremely well to give the feeling that the only thing that keeps things together is grit and ingenuity. There's nothing more satisfying in TW2 than bombarding the living fuck out of heathen monsters right before they run into your carefully deployed handgunner firing line focus firing a particular unit to shreds, before your main line charges in and your reiksguard go around the flanks, all while Franz yells "FOR SIGMAR".

Woah this was amazing overall, I loved the use of so many mods to display the vastness and uniqueness of each province and time era as well. The Kislev armies fighting with their Tzarina on mount, man that was quite a nicely added touch.

I conquered bretonia as the empire and deleted some letters from the citynames and made things like -burg -festung -stadt or -dorf behind it.... it really sounds German now
Sigmar's reign was far from peaceful, if i remember correctly he fought off Nagash, the first doomtide where he singlehandedly fought a bloodthirster and killed the first everchosen Morkar. Granted that may no longer be canon what with how often things get changed.

TBH me as a german and feloow prussian im more then honored to be a 'part' of a ingame Culture ! I never got into warhammer but the lore i experienced thru vermitide and Warhammer 2 gave me the rest and now im officlial addicteed to this genre. Bless sigma for those events!
As much as I like to play as lizardmen, skaven, orcs, I can't forget how much I like the empire of men. The humanity of warhammer.
As a citizen of Altdorf, this video has my consent. In a world of heroes of might and magic, of daemons and devious, twisted horrors, eldritch abominations and other malevolent forces, the Empire endures through Faith, Steel and Gunpowder. Simple men hold the line, while the inventions of many rain fire and death upon their enemies. Battle Wizards and Warrior Priests use their powers to aid their allies and smite their enemies. The Empire of Man is the nation of common humans who constantly stare at the abyss, and do not back down. The Empire endures.
This really should be an official faction introduction video in the game! CA please hire this man already!
I wanna hear about Brettonia. I always loved Brettonian faction in the campaign because of how you can decide to keep a feudal economy or industrialize

What I love about the empire is that if you build an army that is more than half artillery and stack a bunch of bonuses you will always have 1/20 of the loss of your opponents(Its incredibly hilarious and op)

This is the first Warhammer fantasy video I've ever seen. So a comet was seen around the time of Sigmar's birth, he arose as the mightiest of warriors, unified the humans into an empire, ruled for 50 years, and then disappeared. I can see now how well it fits in with the idea that this is happening on a medieval planet in the 40K universe, with Sigmar being one of the lost primarchs. If only GW would make it canon...

I play every campaign with Empire, they are just too cool.
I did play some WE, they are awesome as well, and dwarfs.
I failed at diplomacy when I played, had to conquer all the humans while beating chaos then took a few hours killing dwarfs while dealing with beastmen spawning in stupid places.

Fantastic content, loved every bit of it. Consider doing a followup on Kislev but there is a lot of material to chose from. Kislev always takes the brunt of everything and even have to deal with both orcs and undead, their lore is fascinating and they are probably some of the bravest souls in that wretched unnamed planet.
Agree. Will definitely do a video on Kislev but once an official DLC/Content pack comes out.

Is it wrong that I would love to see the _Warhammer: AOS_ world upgraded to the Mortal Realms' equivalent of the Industrial Age? The idea of Imperial Zeppelins doing battle with giant steam-powered war machines makes my heart go flippy-floppy.

No mention of the high elves. I have been watching the new beta and am under the impression that there are elves. As a noob to Warhammer, I would like to know their place in the realm alongside men and dwarves.
Great suggestion. The Wood Elves are the next faction I'll be covering but the HE will see the light of day soon enough too :)
A short answer the elves have supported humanity often and they helped humans with there discovery of magic but they also are very arrogant and believe themselves superior and live in there citys in Isolation keeping the world in balance. Human and dwarves have closer ties.
