The local bray shaman sent me to a logging encampment with a couple of households. On my way there I encountered 3 lumberjacks, who only had axes for chopping wood. I thought they were an easy prey... Anyways, I charge at them, manage to knock down one of them, and then proceed to have the worst rolls ever in any rpg I ever played. They proceeded to knock me down, the guy I knocked down gets up, and all 3 of them hack me to pieces. To this day I laugh every time I remember this game, it was like something out of Monty Python, a supposedly elite monster that misses every hit with his axes against a couple of lumberjacks.

The beastmen, a random event faction that causes more public order and chaos damage than physical damage. Threat level: minimal unless provoked. Recommended action: leave them alone until you have a decent army
I think the simplest way to fix them (as a threat) is to ratchet up the models in units, or just the melee attack without increasing defences. They should be randomly appearing juggernauts that flatten a whole province before your army can return to fend them off.

My head canon for why beastmen look like satyrs and centuars and minotaurs (mostly) and why ratmen all have a more or less stable rat-humanoid form is that Beastmen are men (and women I guess) that through the winds of magic, direct chaos influence or perhaps even beastman inseminating a human woman, are all either mutated humans or offspring of mutated humans, with forms that are technically still in flux for mutation. On the other hand ratmen are actually from rats living under human cities being contaminated by warpstone deposits underground and even perhaps in the sewers of human civilizations. This fits with their behavior too, as you have beastmen who are men but become tainted and hate civilization and order, and rats who wish to be like men with technology and ambitions for power. Anyone else even think of this? Anyone agree with me?
Blayze47 Actually, the lore of the Skaven is pretty vague - even the scholars of the Warhammer universe can’t agree as to whether they are mutant rats or former humans with rat-like characteristics. Even the Skaven themselves don’t really have much information on their history as the warring clans keep re-writing the record of events to cast themselves in the best possible light! So it may very well be that the Skaven are mutant rats that desire the trappings of human society - the lore doesn’t contradict this idea at all.
@@keegobricks9734 lorewise, the god of the Skaven is the Horned rat... on the other side, Beastmen view horns as the token of powers, so Gors look down on tiny horned Ungors, who look down on hornless beasts (forgot their name). Put these together and any Beastman is a God to the Skaven, and look down on them as if they were filth, cementing the behaviour.....
This is without a doubt the best Warhammer channel I have seen so far, the quality of the videos and the explanations are simply fantastic. You deserve all the possible support and I want to say that I appreciate the work, dedication and time that you put into each video and I look forward to the next one.
Weird, I had thought for a while that Taurox was the only beastman to ever be recognized by the chaos gods, didn't know that doombulls received gifts too.
Another great video guys. I'm still newish to the lore of warhammer so your videos make it a lot easier to get into. Also great job mister skrubasauras you could tell a bedtime story and I'd fall asleep in five minutes, I mean that in the best way possible. Keep up the fantastic work.
Best lore I heard in the Warhammer as well on the beastmen, normally I be more towards the skaven but to hear lore of the beastmen I could not pass up and look forward to many-many more to come.
I first saw beastmen in the Bretonian army book. There was a picture with them in the forest with a brownish skin colour scheme. I thought they looked pretty cool.
I love your videos and your narrative voice, as a voice actor myself, your levels spike and give static. You can easily smooth those out without taking away from what you're doing. Adobe suite has tools to even it out. It compresses the hard notes while keeping your feeling.
The old school hyper realistic Fantasy sketches really convey the horror of the Warhammer universe. AOG is toned down to such a degree it looks like children's fairy tales.
in of WHFRPG 2E game we've fought lots of beastmen but my favorite were the slaanghor and Tzanghor beastmen. the Tzanghor shaman stuck out to me because he was very eolquent and spoke reikspiel well
'...Beastmen worship strength almost as much as they worship Chaos. The champions of the Ruinous Powers are among the greatest warriors to walk this world, Grimnir damn them!' "I thought the beasts were simply mutants, human exiles devolved into man-beasts, altered by the power of warpstone. Certain of our learned professors claim as much." Gotrek shook his head as if despairing at the folly of mankind. "Such mutants follow the hordes as lackeys or camp followers but the beastmen proper are a separate race, with origins back in the Age of Woe. They date from the time of the first incursions of Chaos into this world, from when the Dark Powers first ventured through the Polar Gates to trouble this sad planet. They may well be the first-born children of Chaos and the Old Night" - The Trollslayer, William King
In my honest opinion, The Beastmen are an extremely fun race to battle with and against but only in Custom or Online matches. In the campaign map, they are so infuriating to play with and against simply because of a lackluster gameplay mechanic. I sincerely hope that CA revamp them soon, because man are they extremely fun to play with and against.
i know they became a bit of a joke in the total war games but these things are the most terrifying beings to imagine coming into real life, monstrous hybrids of beast and man, I can't imagine orcs in that way as they don't exist at all, but beastmen or maybe even skaven, those are twisted versions of creatures we have on earth
Does anyone else think it's ironic how factions like these in fantasy settings are all about chaos and the destruction of order yet at the same time they clearly have a strict hierarchy and social structure.
I know this is from a year ago but I'd like to say, not really. The divisions are based on immutable traits of each subrace and the leader's position is maintained through strength alone and can be challenged at any time. If a hierarchy can be upended at any time in any manner, then it isn't very orderly.

@Deathsdayoff person And the bull keeps killing orcs non stop and gets declared "Best Warboss evah"
Who’s finally watching this after the new Beastmen dlc release?
This just makes me even more hyped for the beastmen rework coming at some point!
All hail the battle cattle!
Don’t be ridiculous! Ratmen don’t exist!
Jonathan Wells Or so say the lying tongues of human lords, priests and commanders...
@Blayze47 It's not really explained though. It just says they exist, and a bell was involved.
Really appreciate your words my friend. Thank you 🙏🙂
This channel got me into warhammer, big ups love tw warhammer 2
Weird, I had thought for a while that Taurox was the only beastman to ever be recognized by the chaos gods, didn't know that doombulls received gifts too.
Congratulations on the Beastmen my friend! The Gods of are please to see them!
Waking up to another high quality Choyer vid, nothing better with my morning coffee ;)
Good Morning!! Enjoy the video brother ☕😃
Another great video guys. I'm still newish to the lore of warhammer so your videos make it a lot easier to get into. Also great job mister skrubasauras you could tell a bedtime story and I'd fall asleep in five minutes, I mean that in the best way possible. Keep up the fantastic work.
Maybe I should look into the bedtime story market lol
@@skrubasauras you would kill at that my dude
I've been waiting for this for awhile.
Excellent Job with the RICH Warhammer Lore
I hope everyone is excited for The Silent and The Fury
Best lore I heard in the Warhammer as well on the beastmen, normally I be more towards the skaven but to hear lore of the beastmen I could not pass up and look forward to many-many more to come.
the beast men are one of my new favorites alongside the lizard men, greeskins, vampire counts and coast and others.
FINALLY
I love this faction so much it's unreal
I really enjoy those longer videos, and the presentations! Thanks a lot!
LOVED THE VIDEO!! And LOVE your channel!!
This is another awesome one, great job you. Love these. I haven't looked yet, but I hope you have one on each race in the future
Thanks a lot! Thats the idea my friend! To try to cover all races.👌
A little known fact is that a minotaur had been the space earlier than skaven did.
Damn. If just beastmen were as intimidating in game as in lore.
Love the approach to this information. Excellent presentation for a vast amount of information. Love it!
You're one level adjustment away from being the David Attenborough of the warhammer world
Appreciate the feedback! Would you believe I'm still only using Audacity? I'm in the process of upgrading software though
Awesome vid, and awesome content supporter :D I've been looking for some grimpunk inspiration lately!
I loved this video! Beastman is my second favorite faction! I really hope for more stories !
Hope to see the Lizardmen video on the future Choyer! Because with the new production shown here it will be pretty badass.
The old school hyper realistic Fantasy sketches really convey the horror of the Warhammer universe. AOG is toned down to such a degree it looks like children's fairy tales.
in of WHFRPG 2E game we've fought lots of beastmen but my favorite were the slaanghor and Tzanghor beastmen. the Tzanghor shaman stuck out to me because he was very eolquent and spoke reikspiel well
Choyer makes amazing videos!
'...Beastmen worship strength almost as much as they worship Chaos. The champions of the Ruinous Powers are among the greatest warriors to walk this world, Grimnir damn them!'
"I thought the beasts were simply mutants, human exiles devolved into man-beasts, altered by the power of warpstone. Certain of our learned professors claim as much."
Gotrek shook his head as if despairing at the folly of mankind.
I love this channel! These lore overviews are awesome!
Glad you like them my friend!!🙌
In my honest opinion, The Beastmen are an extremely fun race to battle with and against but only in Custom or Online matches.
In the campaign map, they are so infuriating to play with and against simply because of a lackluster gameplay mechanic. I sincerely hope that CA revamp them soon, because man are they extremely fun to play with and against.
My favourite battle was getting ambushed by khazrak as ikkit and having to desperately try not to lose my weapon teams
Great work once again. Amazing
i know they became a bit of a joke in the total war games
but these things are the most terrifying beings to imagine coming into real life, monstrous hybrids of beast and man, I can't imagine orcs in that way as they don't exist at all, but beastmen or maybe even skaven, those are twisted versions of creatures we have on earth
Can't wait for wulfhart lore video
I hope the Brass bull also gets some spotlight love.
I love Beastmen so damn much!
Feels like I'm watching the national geographic documentary! That voice is on point! 😂
That sponsored game looks epic. Also brilliant video, much requested, needed and enjoyed! Thanks
Where is he! Where is Khazrak One-Eye!? He took my fucking EYE!!!!!!
