It was a picture of a V7 in a magazine that first turned me on to Motoguzzi. Years later when I got orders to Germany, I told my wife I wanted to bring a Guzzi back. Saved for whole time there for one. While in Bad Kreutznach saw a white California 2 in the window of a big leather/ motorcycle gear shop. Was a little village 8K from where I lived that had a little one bay shop that handled Guzzi. Talked to owner/mechanic and said wanted a Guzzi just like that one in the window of leather shop in the city. Made a deal for just over 11,000 Marks and he got it and sold to me. Had it for 20 plus years. Great bike. Old timer bicycle riding neighbor.

Odd that NGK would stop making B8ES plugs. Those were a really common plug from my experience.
They're obsolete.
Most plugs are resistor type nowadays, if not all.
The modern type would be designated BR8ES or something similar.
Yes, but one should not use resister plugs with resister caps. At least we can change the wires & caps but I'd rather keep the non-R plugs.
Dave, you can use B8EG also. It's NGK's "competition" plug. Thin wire center electrode. Available in 8 or 9, resistor or non-resistor. My go-to plug. 👍

Shifter on right and a reverse pattern ie...1 up 3 down. Got to change that muscle memory. Thanks to you I bought that black Eldo in his driveway 😂 I'll proudly be wearing that bullpen cycle t-shirt I just ordered from you.
Thank you for the order. About your Goose, it has a rocker shifter. So I move my foot backwards on the shifter to shift down and forward to shift up, using my heel and toes. That way you dont have to remember up versus down. Its easier on your muscle memory.

Compression is easy enough to confirm. I'll be doing that and some tuning.

You scored, Dave. I love that light blue paint. I had a 2017 V7 for a while. Great bike, but the old ones are way cooler. One of these days I want to add a 70's Eldorado or Ambassador to my garage. I can't believe he said 3500 or 4000 grand for that Eldorado. If that was local to me, I'd be all over it. You never see those for under 5 grand, especially not a nice one with a rebuilt engine.
I'm mixed about that blue paint. I was thinking of having the paint tank repaired. The least expensive and easiest way is to keep it blue. Maybe make the fenders white since the red ones often came with white fenders. Might be a good compromise.

Excellent video, I too have scl500 and have made a few of life with birch changes. My question is what tires did you put on. I like to ride off road and the factory tires are A little squirrely. Let me me know and thank you.
I didnt change the tires yet.
