I AM ABSOLUTELY SOLD!!! I love them finally exploring how Optimus and Megatron went from brothers/friends to mortal enemies at war. Their origin honestly has amazing potential for a really powerful and nuanced story that we don't usually see in the movies. I didn't expect to love Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tee Henry as Optimus and Megatron, but they sound amazing for these roles, especially as their younger selves. The animation looks SO CLEAN!!!
Chris Hemsworth really nailed voicing young Optimus/Orian Pax and I love seeing the relationship between Orian and Megatron before they became enemies and there's Bumblebee like the hype kid in the group
Lil bit of Transformers lore that was most likely used as the base for this movie's story: The Transformers were created by the "Quintessons" to be their servants, and there were 2 types of bots, worker bots who were completely incapable of transformation and combat, and the warrior bots who had the ability to transform and were specifically designed to be soldiers. After countless years the bots rebelled against the Quintessons and drove them away, soon after every single bot was given the ability to transform and they called themselves "Cybertronians" and came the Golden days of Cybertron. Over the next hundreds of years as the Transformer's civilization was becoming more complex, things got complicated. The warrior bots after having no wars to fight fought in gladiatorial fights but others wanted more, they wanted to expand and conquer different worlds to showcase their power however others disagreed and tensions rose. Soon enough two sides rose, warmongering Decepticons and peacekeeping Autobots and badda bing badda boom a civil war began. However the Autobots were made up of mostly the previous worker bots from the Quintesson times and the Decepticons were mostly made up of the Warrior bots which gave the Autobots a huge disadvantage since most of them were previously the equivalent of the regular working class or political figures here on earth. Now let's move onto Optimus and Megatron. There are many versions of the lore, in the original G1 version, Optimus or Orion Pax was just a worker bot alongside his love interest Elita until Megatron who was created by the Decepticon rebels to lead them started the civil war and critically injured Orion and Elita, however Orion's mentor Alpha Trion repaired and rebuilt both of them and turned them into the first real warrior class of Autobots. Another version (and the version I like the most) is that Orion Pax was a young clerk working at the main library of sorts of the Cybertronians, meanwhile Megatron/Megatronus was a famous gladiator loved by the people. Both became good friends as one was a wise and reserved while the other had a genius military mind. One day Megatronus approached the 13 primes (like a high council) accompanied by Orion and proposed a military campaign across the stars and for him to be made the next Prime, the council obviously disagreed and would have punished Megatronus if it weren't for Orion. The council was impressed by his charisma and wisdom that they pretty much made him the next candidate to be a Prime. Megatronus left infuriated and full of jealousy that he leads a big ass revolution to get rid of the "corrupt" Cybertronian leadership. So yeah I'm really looking forward to this movie's version of events
in Alligned Continuity Qunitessons were created by Quintus Prime in another planet and they later came to enslave Cybertronians. During those times, Cybertronians were living in the wild amongst tribes and small cities and they came together to defeat the invading Quintessons. Megatron also fought in that war but Orion Pax didn't exist during that time.
Transformers More Than Meets the Eye is in fact one of the main taglines for Transformers alongside Robots in Disguise! It was the name for the original three part pilot episode for the original cartoon and It's even in the G1 theme song lyrics. It's also the name for several different comic series like Robots in Disguise is.
This movie is gonna be about how Optimus Prime's life was about before he became a prime, and for Megatron, it's gonna be about what he was like before he became the leader of the decepticons

I like the character models, and the animation. I don't really like the Marvel-esque humor they like to cram into everything nowdays. But I hope the more comedic tone will work in this animated film. I also prefer the data clerk Orion, and mining robot/gladiator Megatron origins (IDW, Transformers Prime), but they went with the 80's cartoon series origins of the characters. I'm willing to give this movie a chance.

Just in the trailer, the movie was confirmed to be more serious toned, the jokes will probably be more spaced out in it, there was quite a bit of jumping around by the looks of it in the trailer.
