- I'm currently reviewing the BMW R12 Option 719 - nope, not the R12nineT, but the 95hp, A2 compliant-able cruiser-style version of the R12nineT. Will a 6'3" idiot fit on it? Does it still have the classic boxer character? Will it make me overshare about my genitals? Find out all this and more in this quick first video as I pick the bike up from my Bavarian paymasters (that bit's a joke).

I absolutely love the look of the R12 , the torque is something special on the BMW , it feels like you’re being pulled along as oppose to most bikes that “ push “ you along

THis is such a handsome bike! Love it! Though, sitting on it the front of the seat eats into the inside of my leg which sucks as I dont have the same sense of "I fit on this bike" like I do with the R9T. Yours is the only review Ive seen on this new model. Glad your response was so positive as I will keep this on my radar. Cheers!
Happy days Lee. Welcome to real performance😂👍🏻 goodluck & keep up the practice. Don’t recommend just pulling the clutch in after every pull not a good habit. Same theory as the car, using the engine braking. Plenty of YT vids to watch mod1&2’s tests. Excited to see what bike vids are in the future
This is a very stylish BMW. Surprisingly with a classic boxer I would say. The dash looks very nice. Bar-end mirrors really fit there. Cool. I am glad that I am gonna try one soon. :) Got my like bro.
I took my R9t UGS in for new tires yesterday and saw the R12 for the 1st time. You're 6'3" and I'm 5'6" with a 30" inseam, at my height the R12 fits like a glove. I could easily have the seat kitted with some upgraded foam/gel and be quite happy with the comfort level. It's a great bike, I turned down the offer of test ride because I'd have ended up with a new bike in the garage most likely. Maybe next year....
Nice review. But my slightly modded 2023 UrbanGS is a keeper. The love of my (very sad) life. Can’t help feeling BMW have taken a backward step with these…..🤔🏴

At last, R12 in action. Thanks! How smooth is the quickshifter? I have the R1250R, which is an excellent bike, however, I find the quickshifter to be somewhat sluggish.
Yes - HOW IS THE QUICKSHIFTER? Is it smooth? Notchy?
I was surprised at how smooth it was - my experience with the quickshifters on BMW 1250s is usually that they're clunky and horrid. This felt a lot better. Still not as smooth as one on an inline four, but it works well.

How is the seat and rear suspension? I had 2 r ninets and sold them both because I couldnt take more that 90 minutes on the bike
Is there much heat from the engine at the traffic lights and also yeah hitting your shin on the engine is savage 😂!!
The front fender and rear fender doesn’t match… I’d remove the rear fender and replace to something similar to the front, attached with same air gap between wheel and fender distance too. 👍
the dash for mobile mount is a distractor
When you go past Newlands corner and down the hill watch out for the car park on the left at the bottom of the hill… someone literally pulled out of the car park onto the main road and nearly killed me 😣😣😣😣!!!
Will do! Also… there are 40mph average speed cameras down that hill to keep us all safe now 🤪

Don't you think the bike is too low for your height or is it comfortable?
It's OK - I was surprised. I wouldn't want to do big motorway miles on it, but for a couple of hours on a sunny Sunday it's absolutely fine. I was shocked!
Is the dry clutch a downside for low-speed/city riding ?
It's a little abrupt, but I've not found it to be a pain when filtering through slow-moving traffic
Does it have a fuel gauge or just a low fuel light like the R18?
No fuel gauge or range readout... I've just filmed another video on the bike which I'll put up in a few days addressing some of the questions!
All the money and technical developement,suspension,electroncs,engine but no fuel gauge in 2024?
