Hello love your videos and I'm studying for NCLE but I have an issue where I'm studying also from an exam prep. book and it talks about how to get the corneal power at corneal plane ,b.c., power of contact lens ,overall diameter using a dyer chart . but the one thing I can't under stand is when I have to calculate the power of tear (lacrimal) lens can you help?

If the patient does haves dry eyes, a scleral lens would be ideal for them compared to a tradional soft lens. Do we need to take that in consideration on the test?

      Potentially.
You are correct, scleral lenses (due to their size and the fact that they are filled with an isotonic tear solution) are great for dry eye patients.

      Hi, Gisselle!
Follow-up care is very important; however, I don’t think I can put anything together before Monday 😬
I will get something up soon, though!
Use my videos to supplement your studies - definitely still cover all of the known sections.
Eventually, once I have more videos up, this community will be more comprehensive.
Please let us know how you do! You’ve got this 💪

Hello. I m going to make a reasearch work on tear film of contact users.
The groups are first time and long term users of contact lens.
Whould you please guide me how can i do this.
    What tests should i perform?

      Hi, Fizza.
That is a huge undertaking. I would stick to the basics: Break-Up-Time and Schirmer’s.
For the research to be statistically significant you would need a large enough population size (i.e. N = > 100).
You would also need to list all of the known potential variances (i.e. patients with undiagnosed dry eye disease, patients who abuse their prescribed wear schedule regimen, patients who wear their lenses > 15 hrs a day).
I am confident that you could produce an Intersting piece of work, even if it’s subjective and not directly a causation study.
Thanks for watching. Keep us posted 💪
