@@fellipedasilva99 I feel as though slight teeth crowding some people do find cute. Just look at Zoe Krävitz’s lower teeth, even with the crowding she still might be the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.
What about smiling without teeth. If the joke is not extra funny, my smile is toothless. I'm not a cultural anomaly either, the toothless smile is quite common where I live (the east). Maybe this is another case of west vs east. Flamboyant vs modest. Boasting teeth vs showcasing them only when necessary.
Very true. Showing a lot of teeth especially during eating and in front of elders is considered bad mannerisms. Certain places in the East( like Japan) consider crooked smiles as more cute or charming or super-nummerrary tooth(parts of SE asia) as good luck

Great video!! In my experience, analyzing the smile prior to any intervention is the key to make the smile makeover the most attractive. Doing patchwork makes the ideal smile less attainable because the Periodontist-esthetic dentist has to correct the previous work in order to achieve the ideal smile. I always recommend that patients undergo a full smile analysis by a trained gum specialist who can modify the soft tissue as well as the teeth. This guarantees that all components of the perfect smile are corrected Great Great video!!
From a Slavic perspective all social smiles look creepy and fake. Smiling for greeting or pictures came from America, it's not naturally rooted in my response system. That lady with the perfect smile will haunt me in my dreams 👀
You havent mentioned anything about crooked smiles. I have one and its really impacting my smiling confidence because my smile is shown mostly on one side of my mouth
For me from the ages of 7 to 12 I never knew how to smile in pictures I just went: 😬 but one day I learned to tuck my upper lip slightly and show my teeth. And suddenly my smile went from a 3 to a 8. 😃 I was just not born to smile with a closed mouth lol
I'm not trying to brag but honestly, looking at these pictures of teeth made me feel so much better about my smile and the way my teeth are shaped. I always felt like something was wrong with my teeth or smile because people always made fun of how weird my teeth were. Now I realize that it was all just jealousy because I remember my dentist saying that I had really really nicely shaped teeth and if I had braces and got them adjusted a lil then my teeth would look perfect or model worthy. I'm now 18 and don't have braces anymore and I always get compliments on how amazing my smile is or how greatly shaped my teeth are. I'm so glad I got braces because they really helped. If there are any teens out there who are self conscious about their teeth or just hate the way they look, then PLEASE TALK TO YOUR PARENTS ABOUT BRACES because getting braces literally changed my life and made cleaning them and eating/chewing food much easier for me. Trust me they are completely worth it
I don’t know why I’m watching this when I’m just going to leave...🗣 DEPRESSED AS HELLLLL‼️ I have to remind myself to be grateful for other things but I’d be lying if I said I’m not STILL a little bitter that my parents got my brother’s teeth fixed and didn’t get mine fixed as well lol. He already got the good lips but then he got the perfect teeth too. I got screwed on both and I STRONGLY DISLIKE IT HERE 🥶😭😭😭😭😭😭 ...ALRIGHT! I hATE my tiny, weird-opening mouth, and my tiny lips, and my crooked teeth 😭😭😭😭😭😭
i’ve been told that i have a great smile, my lips aren’t that full but my top lip disappears when i smile and now that’s becoming an insecurity of mine.
Same, my top lip is already very thin and when I crack a (toothy) smile, it just vanishes into thin air. Makes me feel ugly asf lol when I see these beautiful pouty smiles
This is the most random story, but I used to go to this waffle place and had a huge crush on the girl who worked there. When she smiled, her top lip desapered leaving just a trace of her cupids bow. I thought it was the cutest thing ever and that her smile was the most beautiful I've had ever seen. On the other hand, I though the smile of the lady shown to be ideal looked fake and unappealing and that the shape looked like a banana instead of a triangle.
Video ideas: attractive side profile and best combination of features, for example I have a very masculine eye area and mid face but a feminine lower third and cheekbones, I feel like this is rare but idk
I feel like there are outliers to this. Personally my teeth are near perfect, the only issue is a gap in the front two. But when ever I mention braces I'm told not to because it's cute and adds to my personality. It's still uniform with my other teeth, just gapped. I think there can be perfectly imperfect outliers that end up working in a person's favor.
I disagree that large front teeth are "offputting" . When they belong to someone sweet, they make me think of a bunny. Twice's Nayeon has two big front teeth, and she's adorable. If someone I didn't like had those teeth instead, I might have felt differently. I think this aspect of beauty is a learned preference.
agree. ariana looks younger and cuter because of it. also, it looks really good when paired with a more m-shaped lips because it exposes the two large front teeth more which adds to the character of the person smiling
The smile at 9:36 just looks uncanny valley for me to be honest. It would be much more attractive if there was a little bit more irregularity and a little bit of buccal corridor (the way her smile Is “all teeth” is honestly scary!) I think it doesn’t take into account the fact that attractiveness isn’t just about adherence to certain parameters. In fact, sometimes I look at before & afters in cosmetic dentistry and feel that the treatment (veneers, evening…) strangely adds 10+ years to the persons age even though the teeth look more “aesthetic” in and of themselves. While very severe flaws like extreme crowding, canting etc certainly detract from attractiveness, making the teeth too straight actually makes them look like crowns, which I personally associate with older age. So when I see someone with suspiciously straight, even teeth it adds to their age. A great counter-example is Natalia Vodianova. She not only is beautiful but she looks incredibly young for her age. Part of it is her neoteny but it’s also her smile. She has a slightly gummy smile with asymmetry in her teeth. The midline is well aligned, but many would say she has “flaws” (including buccal corridors, gumminess, asymmetry..). Partly this adds to her youthful appearance. If you photoshopped her teeth to be like what you show at 9:36, she would look 10 years older.
Wow, now I have a term for what I hate about my smile "Buccal Corridors." I call it a "Wallace and Grommit smile" because Ashley from Best Dressed said that's what she calls hers and it's very similar to my smile. I have pretty much perfect teeth, and full lips but my mouth is so damn short it ruins everything. If you have a round little mouth you always look better pouting or just giving a closed-mouth grin. It sucks.
Well according to me Beauty is either like Gold or like Diamond, sometimes its visible sonetimes it needs some picking...all of us are beautiful either way😍😍
Even though mewing has no scientific support whatsoever, I belive my smile and cheeks have improved a lot from it. It's anecdotal, but my corridors are a lot smaller/my arch is larger. I also think using tretinoin made my face loose some fat.
my teeth grew well except for the two upper front teeth, which used to angle in. like you said, fixing it really made a difference. now the only problem is that my lips are a little asymmetrical (not because of teeth)
So I came to this video because I wanted to know the science behind Barbara Palvin’s smile because I find her smile SO attractive also Emily Rakowski’s, just to find out they both have wide buccal corridors and that’s not considered pretty 😭😳 but I do think they look pretty … it’s just something about it and I actually find that “imperfection” attractive👌
I have full lips but also a gummy laugh. I know it's normal that your gum appears when you laugh genuinely but it also made me very self conscious lately.

@@fellipedasilva99 I feel as though slight teeth crowding some people do find cute. Just look at Zoe Krävitz’s lower teeth, even with the crowding she still might be the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.
I agree with all except overbite as it ruins facial asthetics. (makes your nose look bigger and your chin and jaw look recessed)
I’m from the west and I always smile without my teeth while being polite or to show I’m uncomfortable
It doesn't exist. I can't smile do I rarely laugh in public or cover my mouth
Very true. Showing a lot of teeth especially during eating and in front of elders is considered bad mannerisms. Certain places in the East( like Japan) consider crooked smiles as more cute or charming or super-nummerrary tooth(parts of SE asia) as good luck
@@DarrenExplorz sometimes when i smile i close my eyes.
@@polo02playful i'M GOING TO JAPAN NOW, my bottom teeth are slightly crooked and have a big overbite
Probably this is the only video that I watched so sadly like "whatever, I will never have it anyways". 😃
I have three sorts of jaw deformation at the same time, though very slightly that somebody would not point out that deformation but it ruins my facial aesthetic overall 💁🏽♀️ yay 💁🏽♀️
Same I have crooked teeth and no money to fix them at the moment, I too said "whatever" like it doesnt make me that unconfortable, my nose is worse.
I just really love your channel
The videos are really interesting and you giver references to studies and not just something from your end and that is also nice to see!
I always thought whitney Houston’s smile was the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. If you ever make another smile video, I’d love for your to breakdown her smile or her beauty in general.
I've been watching the channel for some time now. I'm pretty sure, it helps me understand more about aesthetics which is an integral part of orthodontics.
They need to teach guys this stuff, every woman I talk to about this says she practicied smiling in the mirror here i am just realizing i can make diffeerent smiles and practice better ones in the mirror..
Love how this was recommended to this a day before photo day
Great video!!
This guarantees that all components of the perfect smile are corrected
Great Great video!!
" photoshopped teeth look uncanny cause they don't match the white of the eyes" ...me with red eyes....
From a Slavic perspective all social smiles look creepy and fake. Smiling for greeting or pictures came from America, it's not naturally rooted in my response system. That lady with the perfect smile will haunt me in my dreams 👀
lmao i love this comment. perfect smile ladies are ladies that spent their entire lives looking like that. What a bad list of priorities it seems!
this made be feel better about my smile🤩
This made me feel worse
You havent mentioned anything about crooked smiles. I have one and its really impacting my smiling confidence because my smile is shown mostly on one side of my mouth
For me from the ages of 7 to 12 I never knew how to smile in pictures I just went: 😬
but one day I learned to tuck my upper lip slightly and show my teeth. And suddenly my smile went from a 3 to a 8. 😃
I was just not born to smile with a closed mouth lol
I actually often find wider buccal corridors attractive, at least on guys. Also an uneven smile that is higher on one side can be attractive too.
Trust me they are completely worth it
I don’t know why I’m watching this when I’m just going to leave...🗣 DEPRESSED AS HELLLLL‼️
I have to remind myself to be grateful for other things but I’d be lying if I said I’m not STILL a little bitter that my parents got my brother’s teeth fixed and didn’t get mine fixed as well lol. He already got the good lips but then he got the perfect teeth too. I got screwed on both and I STRONGLY DISLIKE IT HERE 🥶😭😭😭😭😭😭
...ALRIGHT! I hATE my tiny, weird-opening mouth, and my tiny lips, and my crooked teeth 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Same
omg same, my teeth are on the bigger side tho. I learned to loved it but I'M still bitter AF
I’m sure your smile is fine, but I’m so confused, why would they fix only your brother’s teeth and not yours???
My smile is asymmetrical but It's my most compilimented feature of my face 😭
i’ve been told that i have a great smile, my lips aren’t that full but my top lip disappears when i smile and now that’s becoming an insecurity of mine.
Same, my top lip is already very thin and when I crack a (toothy) smile, it just vanishes into thin air. Makes me feel ugly asf lol when I see these beautiful pouty smiles
You can get Botox to stop your lips from curling.
You gotta do more celebrity analysis’ like Natalie Portman or something
Video ideas: attractive side profile and best combination of features, for example I have a very masculine eye area and mid face but a feminine lower third and cheekbones, I feel like this is rare but idk
I feel like there are outliers to this. Personally my teeth are near perfect, the only issue is a gap in the front two. But when ever I mention braces I'm told not to because it's cute and adds to my personality. It's still uniform with my other teeth, just gapped. I think there can be perfectly imperfect outliers that end up working in a person's favor.
thanks qoves i smiled so big when i saw the upload :D
Really cool stuff! Always interested in your content
Congrats on 200k!
There goes my leftover self-confidence
Me in the mirror while watching this video: 😀😐😀😐😀😐
I disagree that large front teeth are "offputting" . When they belong to someone sweet, they make me think of a bunny. Twice's Nayeon has two big front teeth, and she's adorable. If someone I didn't like had those teeth instead, I might have felt differently. I think this aspect of beauty is a learned preference.
agree. ariana looks younger and cuter because of it. also, it looks really good when paired with a more m-shaped lips because it exposes the two large front teeth more which adds to the character of the person smiling
My nose broadens when i smile
It sucks.
Look into "Jaw Hacks" on youtube and look at his MSE videos for a way to widen your palate to fix buccal corridors.
200k subs , congrats ❤️
You should analyze subscribers attractiveness. It would be a hit.
Is there a correlation between the genuine smile and how it also tends to widen your nose?
This channel either makes me feel better or worse, it’s hit or miss, but this one particularly came for a big insecurity of mine
Well according to me Beauty is either like Gold or like Diamond, sometimes its visible sonetimes it needs some picking...all of us are beautiful either way😍😍
Mewing has straightened my teeth so much, way more than my retainer. I’m 49 so you don’t need to be really young either
Even though mewing has no scientific support whatsoever, I belive my smile and cheeks have improved a lot from it. It's anecdotal, but my corridors are a lot smaller/my arch is larger. I also think using tretinoin made my face loose some fat.
I get a lot of compliments on my smile
You should've used images of Christy Turlington and Whitney Houston's smiles. They had perfect smiles.
Can we get a Zayn Malik face analysis? Would really be interesting!
I am generally grateful for having a nice smile and jaw because of braces.
Yeah...The worst part of my face is by far my jaw, which makes my teeth a bit crooked and my smile ugly :(
my teeth grew well except for the two upper front teeth, which used to angle in. like you said, fixing it really made a difference. now the only problem is that my lips are a little asymmetrical (not because of teeth)
Good doctor and some fillers
Could you do a video about eye colours?
I wonder what teeth style looks the best for diamond face shape

So I came to this video because I wanted to know the science behind Barbara Palvin’s smile because I find her smile SO attractive also Emily Rakowski’s, just to find out they both have wide buccal corridors and that’s not considered pretty 😭😳 but I do think they look pretty … it’s just something about it and I actually find that “imperfection” attractive👌
Leslie mann also has wide buccal corridors … and I think that’s her charm
There's no such thing as a prefect smile. The perfect smile is a genuine one and the one your SO likes the most.
I have full lips but also a gummy laugh. I know it's normal that your gum appears when you laugh genuinely but it also made me very self conscious lately.
Please do a face analysis of liv tyler. i find her faceshape/proportions rather unusual
shes an elf that's why
I wonder why people compliment so much my smile, since mine doesn't meet a quarter of the criteria.
are you a dentist? If not your ability to research things are very impressive everything you mentioned was very accurate
