  • Hubbard Glacier is the largest tidewater glacier in North America. It's located in 2 countries: Wrangell-St. Elias National Park in Alaska, USA and Kluane National Park in Yukon, Canada. Come along as we experience this still actively growing tidewater glacier ( grows about 80 feet a year) and also, we saw the amazing Orcas/Killer Whales on the cruise the morning before we arrived at the glacier!

    Whoa!! How amazing to get to see the glaciers - they really are mindblowing. SO cool you got to see some orcas. You got great footage of them too!! Definitely worth the money for a balcony when you are seeing glaciers like that, wow!! So nice you were able to get within less than a mile of the glacier this time around - your views really are incredible!! Those mountains too! The ice chunks everywhere is really cool. An incredible adventure! :)

    We have never been on a cruise but we have been talking about taking an Alaska cruise someday. It would be a wonderful way to see Alaska. It would also be amazing to see all those orcas out in the ocean. And to be that close to a huge glacier would be cool too. Thanks for sharing this awesome experience with us!

      Alice, the Alaskan cruise is definitly the one to take. Out of all of our cruises weve beeen on Alaska is our favorite. When we went back in 2011 we did a cruise plus land tour where we stayed in alaska 1 week then cruised 1 week that was a great way to see it as well, we did that one with Princess cruises.

    Killer Whales are so much fun! We hope to take a big three month road trip to Alaska from the lower 48 in the next few years. Thanks for sharing, guys! Alaskan cruises look amazing. 🐋🐳 We heard and saw a glacier fall at Iceberg Lake in Glacier National Park a few years ago. It was loud like thunder, just like you said. ❤ Loved the waterfalls. 😊

    Do smaller vessels from local boat tours get any closer to the glacier? do you know?

    • @AdventuresAreOutThere
      @AdventuresAreOutThere  9 дней назад +1

      Yes, local tour most definitely would get closer, Yakutat Charter Boat Company offer tours, right from Yakutat. They have much smaller ships then the big cruise ship we were on and get close, even though we did get to within a .50 mile of the glacier :) Thanks for the question hope it helped :)
