He’s mastered the B roll and couple that with the beauty of the surroundings, self depreciation, pets, humor and adorable beautiful couple makes it a pleasure to watch.
You two are the hardest working people I've ever watched. Everything you do has such a satisfying feel to it - even watching :). I love the interaction between the two of you, and also with all you meet. Your videos are super well done. I'm hooked :). Thanks for sharing your life / progress with all of us.
That is a Templar Cross shape you revealed in the old garden. There must be old etchings or drawings of what the garden looked like before. Have you uncovered any plot plans or builder drawings?
I googled French Renaissance Gardens and came across your pattern in Chateau Villandry. It is very likely that the large outer square was lined with boxwood hedging. You could have had grass pathways leading to the fountain and the edged strips were filled with gravel or the other way round. Gravel or grass around the fountain. All very geometrical and structured. I’ll look up your contact information and send you the pictures I found. You’ll see how your garden all makes sense. It looks exactly like one of the beds in Villandry.
Maybe the boar are digging for truffles? Sometimes dogs find them too. Just a thought! I had to laugh at the still shot, that dog looks so very happy! 🥰
Superb superb videography! My dear Daddy loved viewing Vintage autos at Equine fests; especially Austin Healeys! Now I would have been thrilled to enjoy your beloved and beautiful Chateau! Visions really do come true💐

Thank you, Ralph! The cars were beautiful and we were so happy to open the chateau for the locals. We are excited to see the cobblestone brighten and the color to come back after a few more cleanings 😊
You need a heavy duty pressure washer of the industrial variety and at the same time someone with a hard broom/ brush pushing the water away to prevent it coming back although you can do a lot of that with the industrial washer . You should be able to hire one can use hot or cold water
I love you guys!! What a beautiful job you are doing to bring it back to it's glory. I am sure your Grandfather is looking down and smiling at the wonderful job you two are doing. God bless your adventure
Great job with the cobble stones! Those cobble stones were probably shaped by hand and not set in sand but directly into the earth. With time, they all sank and moved which is why there is so much earth on them. You may want to consider taking them all up, re-level the ground, prep with sand and gravel, and reset all the cobble stones correctly into place. Then your ground there will look amazing! Do have garden drawings in the original plans for the chateau? Architects usually prepared those as well back then. You are lucky that the infrastructure for your grand jardin seems to still be there. All you have to do is clean up, repair and replant! It will look amazing when you're done! You mention fruit trees...consider adding espalier trees somewhere in your garden - as a border perhaps. They get more and more beautiful as they grow. So glad to see how you are enjoying the process 😊
Beautiful photography. That French dude had a white '66 Mustang convertible. My first car was a sky blue '66 Mustang hardtop, which I had repainted navy blue.
She is so lucky to have him! I have great faith that this man could single-handedly save this entire château. He is hard-working intelligent and seems to understand how things work.
Lovely vlog. Nettles do not grow where I am from but I understand butterflies and moths love them. Also, where I am from, we call those worms in your flower beds, grubs. I hear fish like to eat them so, if you like fishing...
Those were grubs in the planter. En français ,les vers blancs. The grubs lay eggs in the soil each fall, so keep your eye pealed on the cyclamen and heather you planted. If the leaves die, that means there are still grubs in the soil which are eating the roots.
WOW! The quality of your videography is simply amazing! This chateau will be in good hands in the future. You are both living a "Fairytale" life! 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
In the 1930's it was 8 large squares in the garden and only the NE-SW part of the 'cross' existed. After the garden deteriorated. In the mid 1960's it was redone, inspired by the 1930's design. Then the full 'cross' pattern was used, with 4 squares adjacent. The 1930's outer 4 squares (2 on each side) were turned into a different pattern. So 2 squares became 2 smaller ones and a rectangle. Let me know if you'd want a link to the aerial photos so you can see how it was in 1934 and 1967.
the bugs you found in the planter are the Schaffer bug, and its what the boar are finding, if not the boar it would be the crows that eat them, another name for the Schaffer bug is June bug because they hatch into a flying insect and fly off in June, they return to the ground and lay their eggs, the best time to treat the ground with an insecticide would be August.
They also, once they have hatched into the beetle, will decimate roses and other soft leafed shrubs. The larva of the beetle is called a grub here in the States. They have a treatment you can lay down on your lawn that fights them. I don’t know if it’s an organic option.
So jealous of all the cool interesting work your husband gets to do. As a man stuck in a blue collar factory, this is my dream job my wife buys a castle for me to fix up lmao
The wisest thing to prioritise is definitely to secure your garden against destructive wild boars, otherwise you will forever have to repair the damage, which would be both costly and time consuming.
What sweet kind hearted guy you are to make sure that didn't hurt even a tiny worm..that's amazing..keep that kindness. Don't let it go..we need lot of kindness and compassion in this world..every creature has the right to live. Yay!!!
At 7.35 there is a light that flew over the washed cobble stones and went into the wall of the building. Initially I thought that it was a leaf yet after watching it several times I can see that it is definitely some kind of energy form. I have just discovered your RUclips channel and I love it. You are both doing an amazing job with the restoration work of the Chateau and I wish you all the success for the future.😊🍀🌟

@@TheBeauChateau it will be interesting if you share your experiences with us..may be a new episode in the making.😉 The most important is to feel at peace. I am sure the Chateau feels your love and will love you and protect you through the years..🙂
this gorgeous restored mansion had a lot of hard work, time & cost a lot of $. congratulations! it's a labor of love. beautiful! love from the philippines.
Long term cobble stone solution: pull up cobble stone, lay down concrete fines or pebbles, place cobble stones back down on fines and spread sand between the grout lines and water in. Yes, this will take a lot of work, but it will be beautiful for years. You may want to clean the cobble stones after laying them down but before spreading the sand. With love, from Florida.
Another masterpiece!!!! Looking at the comments, it looks like everyone feels the same way I do. This beautiful chateau is lucky to have you both as we are lucky that you’re sharing your story with us. Thank you❤️ Also, I had to add that you have the most beautiful music too!!!!!!🥰
Nettle soup is really yum too, you need a bunch to take the youngest leaves off and you boil it and you can add some chicken stock (Knorr) or other broth

I love this channel and your beautiful Chateau! What a living dream! Also, love classic cars as well. My dad had a 1929 Model A and my sister had a classic Mustang when she graduated high school in 1977. I hope to have one some day. My dad also had a Mustang Fastback only one day years ago and sold it the same day. I can tell you he regretted it for many years.

I am restoring a 1967 Mustang Coupe in the Netherlands. Bought it around 2000 when I was 21, but never sold it.. The fastback is awesome! Great taste! (I am also restoring a 200 years old house, it’s a disease : )
Congrats on the terrific attendance for the Journées du Patrimoine. That's exciting! The drone shots do show four large square gardens. They may not have stone borders. Cheers-
Wife and I just finished binge watching your videos. What a refreshing change from the other Chateau vlogs. You're a beautiful, hardworking couple who deserve all the success that is in your future. Only question is why do I keep hearing a voice in my head? "Winter is coming. Winter is coming."
Ooo, I see the autumn leaves have already begun to fall. I moved to the Texas Gulf Coast 40 years ago but I can still remember fall and it depressed me so bad. It's beautiful to see but I wouldn't want to live with it again.
Gentle couple ♥ The garden is looking awesome. I would try to find old photos of the chateau. I`m sure there is a way to find out how the garden looked like before it was abandoned. Hugs from Portugal
Grave diggers use a rod that has a "tee" handle to find the coffin that is already buried in the ground before they start digging. Don't know what the soil is like there, but you might be able to use something like that to find any more boundary features. Looking great. I know you have put a lot of hard work into it. Thanks for bringing us along.
You two are doing such a beautiful job. It’s evident that you both care so much about this property. It’s a pleasure to watch these videos and feel like a part of your journey. Thank you for sharing!!
Worms have 5 hearts. If they are split apart they become more. Their job is irrigate the soil. They live deep in the ground, there are millions on the property. You could spend all day finding worms, and not make a dent. The ones that don't live become food for birds or break down in the soil as a fertilizer.
Amazing 👏 seriously.. you need a pat on the back. The fountain garden looks fantastic, I do remember on earlier vlogs your drone footage shows more squares. So if you go back and have a look 👀 🤔 it will give you a better chance of location. X
Really like you video. In the spring when the Netflix are young, you can harvest the leaves and use them like spinach. You do have to blanch them before you use them for eggs, lasagne, soup, etc.
Amazing, so many people! and you manage to stay so cool calm and collected (that's from an early stones song I believe) Everything takes twice as long as expected, a clear indication that you are optimists, so am I, we optimists are not to realistic but we are happier which is wise. The picture by this comment is of our home.
Thank you! We definitely felt maximum stress throughout the day, but it all worked out in the end! Your home looks beautiful! How has your experience been with maintaining such an impressive piece of architecture?
@@TheBeauChateau It has unfortunately not been very successful so far, to be more precise just fighting to keep the weeds from taking over. Your pup looks exactly like my childhood dog named Gretchen. Does your Shepard love a cuddle, listens well, guards her people/home, stand-off-ish to new people, & spoiled rotten? You two have become my new favorite “château” channel. Maybe because you’re Americans; I am as well; whereas most others are Britts. Be well and stay safe, Doc 🇺🇸
You have described our dog perfectly! She will even jump on our bed and snuggle us if she gets the chance 😆 We really appreciate you joining us for our chateau adventures! Thank you 🇺🇸
Congratulations on a very successful event. Loved the classic car show! I didn't see enough of the dance/gymnastics performance to form an opinion. The garden is looking better all the time. I would be afraid to be out on the Chateau grounds anywhere knowing those wild boar are around. I've heard they can get pretty nasty. Please be careful and stay safe. Another great video and awesome drone footage. Thank you for sharing. ox
The reason you are having a hard time cleaning the cobbles is because over time all of those leaves have broken down and made more soil, the soil then gets between the cobbles where it shouldn't be so when you spray you are essentially "digging" out all of that soil. Which you have to do or the grass will come back very fast. Unfortunately, you need to "dig" down quite far between the cobbles and replace the soil with polymeric sand, only that will prevent you from having to treat the grass.
Love the persona of Daphne, such natural queenlike aura.... fitting for such a place 😍

Gentle couple ♥ The garden is looking awesome. I would try to find old photos of the chateau. I`m sure there is a way to find out how the garden looked like before it was abandoned. Hugs from Portugal
Next time do a nature walk through the forest! That’d be fun!
That is a great idea! 😊 Thank you!
@@TheBeauChateau or a nature bike ride! Ha!
@@pNo415 yes, i imaginet a bike ride would bring people closer to your age group
C’est si belle! ❤
The outlines you saw previously in the garden were probably from former hedge plants, most likely Yew.
Wow! Love the unearthing of cobblestone and the concrete cross by the fountain. Love ypur vlog! Superb as usual!
The Chateau, the grounds. All so beautiful.
Nothing like that vintage 67 Mustang . My dream is just to sit behind the wheel and hear that sound starting engine! wow !
Love the cinematography of the series. The music you’ve chosen is so relaxing and soothing. My compliments!
Great work!!!
Worms have 5 hearts. If they are split apart they become more. Their job is irrigate the soil. They live deep in the ground, there are millions on the property. You could spend all day finding worms, and not make a dent. The ones that don't live become food for birds or break down in the soil as a fertilizer.
Love ALL YOUR VIDEOS!!! Cleaning the grass off the cobblestones had to be so satisfying! You 2 make AMAZING videos!!!!
Amazing 👏 seriously.. you need a pat on the back. The fountain garden looks fantastic, I do remember on earlier vlogs your drone footage shows more squares. So if you go back and have a look 👀 🤔 it will give you a better chance of location. X
i love your videos and the chateau is coming alive and magical
Really like you video. In the spring when the Netflix are young, you can harvest the leaves and use them like spinach. You do have to blanch them before you use them for eggs, lasagne, soup, etc.
Dang autocorrect! 😉
My wife is not feeling well but when she feels better would love a visit from you two to give us encouragement . Must keep in touch. Keep the fantastic work going. Best wishes. Andrés and Natasha.
@@artactsound444 We fully understand the battle against weeds. Our farmhouse is almost hidden by the overgrowth 😬 Thank you for your warm welcome! Feel free to contact us via Instagram @chateaudelesigny
Best wishes to youc Andres and Natasha 😊
Nettle tea is good for us too - it has many medicinal benefits 😊 xo
I love the instant gratification you get on projects like the cobblestone cleaning
It is always fun to edit the work footage after it’s finished 😄
Your home looks beautiful
What an adorable couple you both make!
Love you guy's! ♥

Thank you for sharing. ox
what a lovely place
The reason you are having a hard time cleaning the cobbles is because over time all of those leaves have broken down and made more soil, the soil then gets between the cobbles where it shouldn't be so when you spray you are essentially "digging" out all of that soil. Which you have to do or the grass will come back very fast. Unfortunately, you need to "dig" down quite far between the cobbles and replace the soil with polymeric sand, only that will prevent you from having to treat the grass.
