ABOUT US:
Hello! I’m Vivienne, the châtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful (and wonderfully funny!) husband, Simon, our daughter, and -whenever possible- lovely friends and family.
This is not our first chateau! 23 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, nearly 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and -of course- antiques and art!
We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

The puppy looks like a husky too the way his tail curls and many have one blue and one brown eye. Whatever he’s made of he’s beautiful and clearly loves you all! Our husky is the gift that just keeps on giving and giving (they never stop shedding! 😂❤)

Such a sweet dog. Happy news all round. Its great being a grandparent you get all the joy without the sleepless nights. Just had a day out with my hubby and we found a new French cheese shop in Manchester Uk. And I bought some Tete de Moine and had it earlier very yummy. Hello so happy to see your mother visiting from here in the US. You talked of a way to age things in the garden, another way to do it quickly is with Buttermilk and moss! You put them together in a blender and paint it on the piece you wish to age or have the green grow on them. You mix half n half, experiment with how much. Don't let it get rained of. You can put it in a spray bottle also and continue to spray it until desired look is achieved. Lots of love from Green Washington State ✨😊✨

He looks like an American Eskimo (Spitz). We have had two of these, both females, and one lived to be 15 & the other 16. They are the SWEETEST dogs ever -- love to walk. They have double coats so will need lots of combing. Congratulations -- he is adorable. BTW, dogs can have DNA testing to determine heritage.

Hi Vivianne & Simon, So happy that your MRI results were good. When we lived in Kew Garden Hills, in Queens, NY we had a Kosher bakery in the neighborhood withe the most delicious breads, cakes and pastries. It is said that the only ones who look up at buildings in Paris are tourists and architects. I am a former student of architecture.
