If you're in the market for a sports car that embodies the spirit of driving, the 2024 Mazda MX-5 RF Grand Touring is a compelling choice. As an enthusiast myself, I can attest to its allure and performance. Let's delve into what makes this car such a standout option.
    Design and Exterior
The Mazda MX-5 RF Grand Touring boasts a timeless design that seamlessly blends elegance with athleticism. Its Snowflake White Pearl exterior finish coupled with the Targa Top exudes sophistication and offers a striking contrast to the road. LED headlights, daytime running lights, and combination taillights not only enhance visibility but also add a touch of modernity to the classic roadster silhouette.
    Interior Comfort and Features
Slide into the cockpit, and you're greeted by a luxurious Tan Nappa Leather interior. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob enhance the tactile experience, while the advanced keyless entry system and push-button ignition streamline your interaction with the car. Despite its compact dimensions, the MX-5 RF Grand Touring surprises with its thoughtful storage solutions and power amenities like automatic door locks and windows.
    Performance and Handling
Under the hood lies a spirited SKYACTIV-G 2.0L DOHC 4-cylinder engine, delivering 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the SKYACTIV-MT 6-speed manual transmission, this roadster offers an engaging driving experience that puts you firmly in control. The sport-tuned suspension with Bilstein shock absorbers ensures precise handling and responsiveness, making every twist and turn a thrill.
    Ride Quality and Comfort
One might assume that a sports car prioritizes performance over comfort, but the MX-5 RF Grand Touring strikes a perfect balance between the two. The Induction Sound Enhancer amplifies the engine's growl, heightening the driving sensation without compromising on cabin serenity. The inclusion of heated leather sports seats ensures you stay comfortable even on longer journeys, while the clear wind blocker minimizes wind noise with the top down.
    Safety and Technology
Mazda's commitment to safety is evident in the MX-5 RF Grand Touring's comprehensive suite of features. From Blind Spot Monitoring to Lane Departure Warning System, this roadster offers peace of mind without detracting from the driving experience. The Mazda Navigation System, coupled with the 8.8-inch color touchscreen display, keeps you connected and informed, while the BOSE® audio system delivers crystal-clear sound to accompany your adventures.
    Pros and Cons
    Pros:
6-speed Manual Transmission: For purists, there's no substitute for the joy of rowing through the gears.
Retractable Hardtop: Enjoy the thrill of top-down motoring with the convenience of a hardtop roof.
Fun to Drive: The MX-5 RF Grand Touring embodies the essence of driving pleasure, making every journey memorable.
Sports Car Ride with Comfort: Experience the thrill of a sports car without sacrificing comfort or refinement.
    Cons:
Cup Holder Placement: The cup holder located on the rear of the center console may impede comfort for rear passengers.
In conclusion, the 2024 Mazda MX-5 RF Grand Touring is more than just a car-it's a testament to Mazda's dedication to crafting vehicles that ignite the senses and stir the soul. Whether you're carving through winding mountain roads or cruising along the coast, this roadster promises an exhilarating driving experience that's sure to leave you with a smile on your face.

it still looks awesome, and will continue to do so forever! whatever the next full version is won't even need to be restyled but it will be anyway. NDs are once again future classics probably even more so than anything other than NAs

Loved the review. Younger fellas are usually running their mouth the whole time, so you can’t hear the car. Good camera work, too. Thanks!

Actually, the ‘RF’ stands for “Retractable Fastback” - not “retractable roof”.

I liked your driving sequence seeing that new 8.5 inch infotainment screen & instrument cluster. Looks different from my 2016 MX-5 soft top Club with the Brembo / BBS package. There is a new asymmetrical differential plus a track mode switch to the left of the dash on the Club models. Also Mazda made steering changes to better control center on the highway. The headlights & tail lights went to LEDS plus they integrated the DRLs into the headlights - the lighted fangs are now gone replaced with black plastic inserts. Didn't get a chance to test drive a new 2024 yet as the dealer only had an automatic RF I didn't want to drive. Turned it on though & checked the new screen which displays tire pressures - very helpful. The engine update in 2019 upped the HP but the 155 HP in my car feels really good because the car is so light. Plus the torque curve is flat & every gear pulls nicely. The RF with the top down has wind buffeting noise right by the drivers ear / passenger ear at around 60 mph & up. The soft top with the roof down is much better with no blind spots either. Also the soft top is lighter by about 130 pounds. My top goes up & down in 4 seconds. I use my car in 4 season weather so I have a dedicated set of winter wheels / tires that get swapped for the colder weather. I've learned to live with the lack of storage space as the passenger seat gets the overflow from the trunk. Its been a great car & look forward to drive it every walk to the garage.

I love the tan interior so that’s what I ordered. Sucks I don’t get the Recaro seats, but I’d rather have the tan interior.

Not me. Give me the soft top Club with the BBR option I'll take it over the tan interior on the Grand Touring. Wish Mazda would offer better colors. The White on the soft top Club looks better because the Black aero bits / Black BBS stand out even more as contrast. The soft top does a great job even in 4 season weather. How do I know. Been driving a 2016 MX-5 soft top Club with the Brembo / BBS package for the past 6+ years. Dedicated winter tires make a Big difference in the snow / ice / sub zero temperatures. I'd rather spend the money saved by NOT getting the RF on the BBR package instead. The soft top is so much better with the top down than the RF.

Why don’t you just remove the cup holder and put it in the glovebox? I use the cup holder on the passenger side typically.
