Everyone says gusty gardens is the best song in the game, but good egg always does it for me. What a strong introduction to the universe.
Good Egg Galaxy is the first they made and 0:57 is basically the main theme of the game. gusty garden is a copy of this and arguable has better verses but its chorus echoes this.

I recently learned that the part at 0:56 is used in the harmony in Mario Kart Wii's Rainbow Road track and honestly I think that might be the coolest reference to another game in Nintendo music

I love it!!! the only thing i dislike about it is that it was used in good egg galaxy, it doesn't fit really well (in the perfect run this was a perfect song choice with Gusty Garden)

When I was grinding out a Perfect Run win in Galaxy 2 that was pretty much always the moment I reached the electric bar section. I associate it now with the feeling of victory having made it past the octopus/sentry beam/disappearing tile part and into something that I can cheese. Now I wish I'd played Galaxy 1 so I could experience the music in its original context.

And it's Indescribable why that part of the theme is also played, and fits so well in the cutscene when mario finaly saved peach, while flying away with her to safety with the help of the grand star.

College freshman right now, and I have a feeling this nostalgic music is gonna get me through my grindy study sessions. It has such an optimistic vibe to it, helps keep me going late on in the night when every part of me does not feel like studying.

The real orchestrated soundtrack and the rim shading/lighting had me speechless, and it stands close to when I first saw the Gamecube as one of the most mind-blowing video game moments of my life.

1:06 That goddamn harp followed by the accompanying glockenspiel. Every time it hits the glockenspiel part I get goosebumps. The base part is very good even though it's the same pattern and notes repeated; and this is coming from an ex tuba player who is annoyed at one-note-basslines. I would be honored to play that note.

I don't really feel much for games anymore, but this one has one of the strongest openings in gaming history. It sounds like "It's time to begin the greatest adventure of the universe!" and I love that. I still remember how it felt 5 years ago when I played it first time.

it’s so charming how a game from 2007 (and an additional sequel from 2010 that’s even better) are still being talked about just due to how amazing they were.

I was not mentally or emotionally prepared by how awesome this game was going to be when this song played.
This song is so nostalgic to me. This was the first Mario game I ever played, and coming back to it years later after playing many more Mario games this one is still one of my favorites, and out of all the Mario platformers (as in excluding the Paper Mario games and the RPGs) this one is my favorite, although nostalgia is probably the main reason I like it more than Mario Odyssey.
I would argue that odyssey really just didn't have the same magical feel as galaxy. It doesn't feel as vast, despite traveling the many worlds of odyssey.

This track almost brings me to tears every single time. It’s incredible how effective it is as a first level track with how it pushes you forward and motivates you with its grand feel and also how beautiful it is. It really lets you know from the very first level that this is a special game.

i remember they day clearly. my dad went to the store and bought 3d all stars. i had a wii when i was like 2 but only had mariokart and just dance. i booted up my switch and played all three. i started with galaxy. i remember how astonished i was with the models, and how amazing the music was. it was glorious. about a year later, i went through tough stuff. grandparents and my parents fighting. mental health issues. failing school. i was at rock bottom. when i played galaxy though, it felt... like i escaped all that. as i would sit on my lunch break, eating ramen and playing galaxy, i was the happiest person on earth. when i got to the first bowser level, i was so happy. this is really what got me into console collecting. i currently feel alot better :D thank you galaxy, in your out of this world soundtrack! (ps, rosalina is better than peach)

I'm not kidding. I drove from Dallas, Texas to Provo, Utah, as a favor to a friend. It's a twenty hour drive. Right as I made it to Provo, there was a sign that said "Welcome home," which I read right as this song began to play. "Oh, I'm home," I thought. I literally thought those words before realizing "wait, no I'm not home. I've never even lived in Utah!"
But yeah, this song had a lot to do with that ^^; Out of the whole Galaxy soundtrack, this is definitely my favorite song!
To be the theme song of the first level I get goosebumps specifically this part: 2:09, it gives you the feeling that a great adventure awaits and that's why I think Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 have the best soundtrack of the Mario games. Mario

While hearing Gusty Garden for the first time is amazing, (honestly the song to me is so PAINFULLY overrated that its lost its charm for me when Nintendo began putting it everywhere) this tune is where its at. Its one that truly never dulls and really does depict what Super Mario Galaxy is as a whole. Its fucking Super Mario...IN SPACE in a way like you wouldn't ever know. You're going beyond the boundaries of the Mushroom Kingdom and all beyond. This music is just so incredibly epic and hearing it for the first time was truly...Spectacular in such a way that I can't put into words. It just really prepares you for how this adventure is going ALL OUT compared to past adventures. And now, I and loads of other people will finally be able to relive that epic experience of entering space once again. (Although I'm more excited for Sunshine but I am glad the first Galaxy is here over the second because of how hard the first one hit. Second one didn't hit quite as hard.

Who else remembers being completely confused in this galaxy and just wandering around? When I got this game, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and could never beat this galaxy's first mission. I feel like this is going to pack a serious punch of nostalgia in a few years XD
