You know, for a galaxy named after junk, this song is so not garbage.
I’ve watched RUclips for a long time, and for some reason I find this to be one of the best comments I’ve seen. In the moment I could see someone sitting by a campfire, headphones on, listening to this, and saying the exact same thing.

Whenever I listen to this song, i cant help but think about the vastness of space and whatever else might be out there. When talking about the grand vastness of space and how humongous it is, I'm certain that we aren't alone in the universe or even our own galaxy.

We definitely aren’t alone. Our universe is too big for there to not be more life. And our universe isn’t even alone. There’s always something else beyond, even when we can’t see it.
To me these songs (more specifically songs from the second game because it is my favourite game ever) make the dead, vast void of space seem a lot less scary.
I beat this game recently.
Got it for Christmas for the refurbished Wii I got for my birthday last March (both game and Wii were courtesy of my AMAZING mother). I played Mario Galaxy as a kid with my old Wii, but never got too far into it (gave up after failing on Loopdeloop Galaxy so many times). When I got to Space Junk Galaxy, I knew I was in for a treat because I'd heard the music. I never got Tarantox's star done, but when I was trying to, I was determined to defeat him to restore tranquility to Space Junk Galaxy.
But, in summary. I love how this song makes me feel. I fell asleep to it once, and I had a dream that I was just...adrift in space, surrounded by the twinkling of a thousand stars. I had no spacesuit; I didn't need one. I could inexplicably breathe in the vacuum of the ethereal void. I've always been fascinated by space and the stars, and this song amps up that fascination tenfold. I hope that when space travel becomes more privatized and recreational (maybe a space hotel open for the general public) that I might be able to travel into Earth's orbit someday. It may not happen; I'm not counting on it, but a guy can dream.
It’s just not the same anymore, there’s something just so special about this game, it soothes my soul with peace and wonder I felt as a little kid, if I ever have a child I want them to experience this game, and pass that beauty from one soul to another.
I feel absolutely the same! I feel so privileged to have played this game. I don't think there could be anything that could make me as happy as seeing my child experience this game for the first time
What I find fascinating about this track is how it can manage to be so rich in tone, yet make you feel completely isolated at the exact same time. It really takes that concept of what we perceive deep space to be to the next level.
This and Pikmin 1’s “The forest of hope” can make anyone feel intense nostalgia even if they’ve never played the games

The soundtrack of Super Mario Galaxy is a masterpiece, calming, charming and nostalgic.
The galaxy itself may be junk, but its level and sound design is phenomenally clean.

Literally the best song in the game. It's the one that reflects the most the sensations of loneliness and melancholy in the entire game. Also, i much prefer the italian name for this galaxy "Galassia Polvere di Stelle" which would translate to "Star Dust Galaxy".
I can't express what this game means to me. This soundtrack is beautiful, and this song it's simply perfect.

Mario Galaxy is and will be my favourite game ever. It gave me love for space and stars, and makes nostalgic. Not only did it revolutionize gaming platformers industry but it also marked minds af millions of people that will never forget this work of art. I still play SMG and SMG2 very often and i will do everything for my future kids to play this magnificent little game.
PS : My eyes were a lil wet while writing this listening to, imo, one of the best soundtracks in the whole gaming history. thx a lot for reading my comment.
Used this to help my little sister sleep who said they couldn't sleep at all. By the time the video ended, she seemed to have relaxed into sleep finally. This song came in clutch :D

This song is literally so freaking magical. This is not just my favorite track on mario galaxy, it's one of my favorite pieces of music in gaming history. Everytime i listen to it, it honestly feels like it's taking me into space and captures it's isolation of it. Mario Galaxy is such a fantastic Mario game, and i am so happy it exists.

I always revisit this game once every few years because it is just so damn great, and this level with its music is honestly one of my favorites in the entire series. The atmosphere and depiction of space is absolutely gorgeous, the comfortably isolated vibes it gives is unparalleled, and the music is beautiful. Mario Galaxy truly was an incredible experience. I like Mario Galaxy 2, but the first one will always hold a special place in my heart.

Man this song hurts my soul, I remember being 7 or 8 playing this game, having a good time, getting along with my brother, it makes me sad listening to it now, it's so impactful but also so beautiful and peaceful.

Whenever I listen to this music, it makes me feel like I’m watching a beautiful night sky full of stars. This music fits perfectly for watching Aurora Borealis. And whenever it snows at my house at night. I like to look outside, watch the snow slowly fall while listening to this music. 😌

Super Mario Galaxy is an ethereal joy that everyone should experience at least once. It's absolutely the best game in the series and one of the greatest games in Nintendo's stacked catalogue.

I listen to both games sound tracks at random whenever I’m doing homework, chores, or any other work and this has become one of my favorite music pieces from the games.

Arriving in this galaxy for the first time was the most magical experience this game has ever given me.
Every time I listen to a song from the Mario Galaxy soundtrack it makes me feel very nostalgic.
Especially Space Junk Galaxy brings back memories of when I was 8 years old playing on my Nintendo Wii.
and now in 2024 at 23 years old I fondly remember that time, Mario Galaxy is definitely one of the best video games in history.

Just FYI the Galaxy in Japanese is called stardust galaxy (and in most other languages including mine Italian)it’s just the English translators decided to change it(I don’t know why)this music fits better with that name in mind
