  • HOW to CROCHET Houndstooth Stitch Pattern - How to Change Colors in Crochet the Easy Way
    Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. In this video, I'll show you how to crochet the houndstooth stitch pattern. This is a classic design that works up fast and easy in crochet.
    You'll start with an odd number of chains. Then the pattern consists of a single crochet stitch followed by a double crochet stitch across the row. The first and last stitch of each row are critical, as those points are where the color changes happen. I'll show you a couple of tips and tricks for changing colors the easy way.
    You can use any weight yarn and its suggested crochet hook with this pattern.

  • @jjones3268

    Hi, so on the original swatch that was colorful, did you just carry all of the colors up the sides? I see everyone is saying they are using only 2 colors, but you had multiple colors on the first example, and I'm just curious of how that all works when some colors may not repeat as often. What did you do on that one?

      @susanm4200 9 месяцев назад

      I wondered the same.

  • @icherishcrochetandknit309

    Hi Donna, isnt this the same as the seed st?

    • @naztazia
      @naztazia  Год назад +1

      Because there is no global standard for naming stitches, it's sort of subjective. I've always considered the "seed stitch" the same as the "moss stitch," which at least in my experience is the single crochet, followed by the chain 1, and subsequent rows you put the single crochet in the chain 1 and the chain 1 over the previous single crochet. However maybe the single crochet/double crochet pattern is considered a "seed stitch" in other parts of the country/world.

    • @icherishcrochetandknit309
      @icherishcrochetandknit309 Год назад

      @@naztazia I didn't know there was no standard for stitch names. Not sure what country you are in, but in the US, the moss stitch is also called the linen st. 😁

    I would like to ask a question. When I am crocheting certain things I get a curl. I'm I crocheting too tight.

    • @naztazia
      @naztazia  Год назад +1

      Yes, normally if the work is curling it's because the stitches are tight and are pulling themselves forward. The way to correct this is to lift your hook much higher than you think you should when drawing up loops. Or you can use a crochet hook 2 sizes larger than what the pattern calls for.
