If the motor case is getting hot then surely this means there is already good heat conduction from the interior of the motor to the exterior, no? Presumably, adding the ferrofluid should increase the temperature of the motor casing.
i don't have a specific supplier for that, because all of them are slightly overpricing this liquid, but what can i do, we do need it eventually. anyway, only rule is not to get it from ali or ebay as it will be most likely some oil with metal parts in it. lunacycle, greentech, hubsink. these are legit.
I have a 60v version. Seems as though my wire(s) from the motor to the controller are hard wired into the controller with no quick-release clips? There’s simply no way to get the motor off without clipping wires? Your video was sped up through that part so don’t know what you did there. Trying to add new rotor.... thanks!
thanks 4 great vid. So is there a big difference? on day i had issue with OX, that motor was so hot, that the motor actully started to break itself. I guess it was due to temperature distantion of the motor. Once it got cooled down it was ok.
I've added ferrofluid which transforms big portion of the stator heat to the motor shell which being cooled by the air. Gonna have to create custom hubsink fins to cool it even faster. Google "hubsink for ebikes" to get the idea.
did you measure your no load power before and after? because statoraide is really only good for lower rpm motors, like bike hubs. This motor will be spinning at 3-5 x the rpm - the magnets relative to the stator ~3x the speed, so you might get some notable drag and possibly even foaming of the oil. Also there was no sign of dark windings so im guessing the motor wasn't getting too hot at all :P
Oil? It's statorade :) and these hubs are not that much faster. I had 5k motor on 17 inch moto rim which did 150 kmh, no issues whatsoever. Also, I applied the cooling solution before upgrading to a new controller. Will crack that open again in a few months for a review.
Hi there... i hope you can help me fix my inokim ox hero... both of my frontlight was not working since i hacked the speed limit... could you help set to factory reset... thanks in advance
Thanks for video. I look forward to the next installment.
This video helped me a lot when I went through installing an upgraded disk brake rotor. Thanks!
Cool man, I'm glad :)
Can't we just cut the cable and solder an easy in/out Connector right there by the suspension arm ??
Great video, you cut straight to the chase. Hadn't previously heard about ferrofluid and its role in thermal control.
Man, some people call it magic fluid :)

Very accurate assumption! :)
Soon a new video with cooling heat sinks :)
And later, even more. Planning on printing aerodynamic vent that will grab incoming air and maneuver it on the motor shell ( in place of rear lights)
מקצועי!
thanks man ! many more to come !
Just came across this video, did the fluid make a difference?
@ 2:59min did you remove anything on the other side of the axle? where the Cone Cap is placed? i need to check mine cause its hard to spin by hand,
Hey, do controllers like jager disconnect throttle response automatically if motor gets too hot?
No controller do that on inokim ox, because there’s no temp sensor. But jager cooks the motor the most.
@SUB13333 you think that the jager 5.5 thats rated at 30a is also too much for the 48v ox?
Thanks for the video, now all you need to do is to add a link to the fluid type (and/or where to buy it from)
It's called Statorade and you can buy it from shops that sell electric bikes.

There's a yellow box for 3 phases inside the body. Sensors wire also has a plug.
Intresting but much to quikly would love to see it on a normal speed
לאיזה מהירות מגיע אינוקים 48V 21A סטוק בלי שום שדרוגים רק פתיחת מהירות?

Please, review the results. Thanks
promise will do ! just so busy lately with upgrades! :)

@@SUB13333 whats statorade made of?
@@sn0wchyld Nanomagnetic particles suspended in a low-viscosity oil. Yes there's oil, but so little it isn't going to react just as plain oil.

same message twice?
איפה ניתן לקנות כזה בארץ?
בארץ זה יהיה זמין אולי ב2099.
LUNACYCLES זה הכתובת.
