    Great stuff Stu. Would you suggest first trying this with very small movements, like you did one handed, and then gradually lengthen the swing, to get a proper feel for things?

      Always a good tack to start slow and build. Let me know how it goes. Best wishes Stu

    When the Student is ready, the teacher appears. If you want to learn, understand and get better in the process- listen /watch Stewart. He has been there, done that and is gracious enough with sharing.

      Amen to that Jack and really appreciate the kind message too, very grateful. Thank you for being part of my golfing family. Best wishes Stu 😊

    Hi Stu...This right extension to improve angle of attack seems to contradict another video I recently watched of yours about 3 keys of clubhead speed by Pull, Swing & Push left leg. How do you swing & maintain wrist extention as your showing?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  5 месяцев назад

      The club should still swing, just depends where your ball position is and when the swing occurs. Hope that helps.

    This was very interesting. Another piece to the puzzle. Makes me think about the old saying "keep pressure on the club through strike" but I never knew how. This makes sense. I've been trapped with the modern teaching of "keep trail arm bent through impact" and then no pressure down. Great video!

    Stu, fantastic explanation and visual of how the trail hand and wrist should move, and why we also need to lower our body to make good strikes. Cheers.

    Hi Stuart. Another great video as per usual. Just wondering if you have tried or are familiar with the "precision impact golf trainer"? It appears to create the same strike position you are explaining. I know you aren't a massive fan of training aids. Kind regards Andy

      @GoodGolfCoaching  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Andy - the trouble with a hit plate on its own encourages the incorrect directional energy on the handle, usually target bound. If applied with the Theraband it can absolutely help my friend. Does that help? Best wishes Stu 😊

    Fantastic overview Stu! Video suggestion here. I would love to hear your thoughts on the spectrum between this movement at one end and the full release 'swing at the bottom' you often describe. As someone who is fairly strong and an ex-cricketer/ hockey player I am quite good at doing what you describe here. However, I chronically deloft too much and to fully release a driver with enough launch, I have to feel like I am extending the lead wrist almost like a bunker shot. I know a blend of both movements is called for but I really struggle to manage this in my game across the bag. Just a suggestion as I saw you requested video ideas recently.

    Hi Stu, Thanks for sharing this secret. I understand the philosophy of pressing down with the right pad of the hand, but how would you then keep the left wrist cocked??? as you always advocate doing so during strike??

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  8 месяцев назад

      These are fleeting moments of flexion and extension. Golfers generally are lacking in pressure and right arm length. You can still feel the head swing and the left wrist into extension at and post impact with this feel. Try it and give me feedback. Best wishes Stu 😊

    Hi Stu, as per some of the other comments I am struggling to align this concept with your normal advice of letting the clubhead swing past the hands? Can you please clarify.

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  8 месяцев назад

      Mel, you can absolutely still let the club swing through strike with these feels. Have a practice first and see how you get on and welcome any questions. Maybe another video to clear up some questions.

    Brilliant as usual, at what point does the right wrist straighten?

  • @andycorso8498
    @andycorso8498 8 месяцев назад +1

    Would this method of pressure down through the handle affect club lie at strike?
    Seems as though the shaft would be coming into strike at a flatter shaft angle than
    If the hands were at a higher position, therefore toe would be higher…. Or am I missing something?
    Anyway… always thought provoking Stu😊

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  8 месяцев назад

      Andy, it absolutely will and take away early extension. Dynamic lie and static lie angles can be very different and what you feel has changed can be very small on the “plane” you’re referring to. Hope that helps. Best wishes Stu 😊

    I keep releasing the trail through or maybe before impact and getting some nasty low face strikes , a few practice swings on the backyard mat tells me this may be the cure 👍
    Stu ive recently gone over to lighter shafts 1050gh from r300’s things where fantastic at first but i think im losing my timing and strike a bit as time goes on , could this be due to the lighter shafts ?

    Will the increased forward bend automatically happen as a result of the wrist extension ?

      As long as your left foot responds accordingly, yes. Stay tuned for a video coming in Friday for more answers. Best wishes Stu 😊
