Well, this is the beginning of a new adventure for me: my first miniature painting guide.
Fear not, however, because I'll also be creating a cool diorama base for this little guy and will be bringing you work-in-progress videos as well as a complete build video at the end of the project.
This is Garaldir from RN Estudio. He is 3D printed in 75mm scale and was a TON of fun to paint using Citadel, Vallejo and The Army Painter paints.
I hope you enjoy watching this painting tutorial. I haven't enjoyed a project so much in ages.
I used Vallejo, Army Painter and Citadel paints to complete this painting project.

Thanks man. Really appreciate it. Just trying to get back into the creative groove and following my instincts. Anticipate it will take a while for the views to come back as the algorithm doesn't favour people who take extended breaks and switch subjects a bit, but I've just got to be faithful to my sense of enjoyment, you know? Hope you're well.

Eyes are so difficult to paint. I like the blood on the blade - that looks cool.

Thank you! Eyes are easier at this scale, but yes, generally very difficult.

looks good. Curious about your process. Any reason you didn't mid-tone base coat everything then build up highlighting and shadows for the whole model and instead of did it in sections?

Thanks. Basically because I'm learning how to do this myself. I think I'll do what you just said on the next one I paint!

Also probably out of a sense of wanting each part complete before I moved on, like writing paragraphs in a story.

Amazing detail work! How ever do you keep all the paint colors straight in your mind??? The variations are so subtle

Thank you 🙂 I use a wet pallette and build up the highlights by mixing some of the precious colour into the lighter colour, and so on until I get to where I want to be with the blending.
