Woah. Quite the week! In this week's video, I show you my favorite salad recipe, adventures of Rachel & Gage, and my little accident that landed me a trip to the ER/ED. I've never been to the emergency department/hospital as a patient, so this was definitely a first and hopefully the last time.
Thank you guys for the well wishes. I love you all.
Funny how i'm wearing David Dobrik "clickbait" merch, when this is 100% not clickbait.
This video does contain the incident in which I got hurt--viewer discretion is advised.
Who knew about this incident from IG on Wednesday? If not, you must not be following me there. Go follow instagram.com/rachelsouthard to see vlog content before Fridays!
Thank you so much to everyone for sending me such sweet DMs
I saw it on Instagram lol

What book is that
Wait so now you’re hanging out with a guy who made false sexual harassment allegations ?
Rachel: (fu**ing wrecks her arms, literally 3 hours later) “there’s bigger problems in the world I gotta study”. Lmao what a legend love her😂💛
Hahaha love you
FAMMMMM ouch! ouch! ouch! I wish you the speediest of speedy recoveries 🏎🏎🏎
Lmaoo thank you!!🙏🏼🙂
Omggg kharma mediccc
wow!..kharma medic is here!!!!
i literally screamed “no wayyy” and then my mom asked me and i was like “oh, Rachel probably broke her arm 😔” as if we were close and know each other lmao. Sending all my love, hope you doing well!
hahaha hey, we are close. tell ma i say hi!
I STARTED CRYING WITH YOU WHAT THE HEK😭 when you said "you have boards" damn you're so considerate even when in pain 😢 please do take care of yourself ❤️ hope you get well soon🙏
omggg ily ty
@@RachelSouthard Ily moreee💕 you deserve nothing but the best💜
I feel this tho, if i need help ill be like WAIT NO YOU HAVE THINGS TO DO and theyll be like dude you're gonna die and I'm like OH YEAH PLS HELP
I’m learning EKG’s right now too!!! Have you heard the heart block poem?
1.If the R is far from P, then you have first degree
2.Longer, longer, longer, drop! Then you have a wenckebach
3.If some Ps don’t get through, then you have mobitz II
4.If Ps and Qs dong agree, then you have a third degree
Omg I love this
the laughing part when she was cutting her shorts😂😂😂
Sending you all my good vibes and wishing you a speedy recovery! Try opening up thoracic inlet/ thoracic duct and pump axillary nodes to help with lymphatic flow.
ty!
Honestly I'm interested to see the fracture classification and the rehab process! Obviously this is incredibly unfortunate but could be a very interesting learning experience!!
I've had some big health issues in my life and it's not weird to be intrigued! It's always really interesting to learn about! And usually makes me feel better to really understand what is going on, plus knowing what kinds of questions to ask.
Rachel: In pain
Rachel: There are bigger things in the world
Wellp xd
*talks about her body insecurity... “okay Im not going to complain anymore, there’s bigger problems going on in the world
* fractures her arm.. “okay there’s bigger problems in the world”
*gets her arm amputated, “okay there bigger problems in the world”
Lol Rachael it’s okay to talk about your problems, don’t feel like you aren’t allowed to 💀
Awh. Thank you. I just don’t want to be insensitive to real problems happening. Hahaha
you can definitely be aware and don't feel good about your problems while acknowledging the "bigger problems in the world"
You and gage are literally like the most beautiful humans I’ve seen
I’ve also never broken a bone before - can’t imagine how scary that must’ve felt! I hope you’re recovering well and your arm feels better quickly❤️ sending all the love your way!
Is it weird that I low key wanted to see how you broke your arm and the process you went through the hospital when you posted your ig story😂.Being med students our brains work a bit different I guess.Hope it was a great learning opportunity for you.I prayed for you glad you’re okay.Sending you all the love in the world💖💖💖💖
I know I’m not the only one who heard that crunch when she hurt her arm😖
The amount of memes and dad jokes in this vlog is ASTRONOMICAL lol
Thanks for keeping us laughing Rachel!
dont invalidate your feelings and your pain!! even though the world is crazy and you're right about there being bigger and more important things in the world rn, that doesn't mean you can't be going through something!! you and your pain and suffering matters!
When I saw what happened my heart stopped. I hope everything is okay and that you heal quickly.
I’m shook how does Gage know her😂😂
Hi! I notice you tend to diminish what happens to you because of everything else that’s happening in the world which is horrible but your feelings are also valid! I hope you heal and feel better soon 💛
That sound it made made me cringe, I'm so incredibly sorry you had to go through that! I hope that you start to feel better soon! I myself am a pre-med student and I watch your videos all the time and you inspire me so much to become a MD.
My first trip to the ER was in 2019 because i got very sick from Dengue fever, wich in my country (Mexico), last year had a huge outbreak.
holy moly!! hope you're okay now!
Hiii Rachel!! Yeah I got better, but those two weeks were hell.
Dang, that must’ve sucked.. I hope you’re doing much better now ❤️
My first trip to the ER happened when I was an infant-I was dancing on a chair (like a dummy) and fell off and hit my head 😂😂
My dad got dengue when we visited the Philippines in 2014? It was scary. The doctors here (US) didn't know what it was and he almost died. My mom (who is Filipino) contacted her doctor friends back home and they deadass said to make him drink gatorade and he recovered. 2 weeks later the US doctors came back and said it was dengue...like yeah what we told you in the beginning...my dad was already at the stage before internal bleeding. scary stuffs.
My grandpa has that rn! ):
Exactly what I’m going through right now. I have neurofibromatosis and I’ve had so many surgeries and it’s so hard to accept. Takes constant work 🙃
RACHEL: NEARLY BROKE HER ARM AND WE ARE ALL WORRIED INCLUDING RACHEL HERSELF.
ALSO RACHEL: YAA! THAT IS MY X-RAY, I THINK IT'S FASCINATING BECAUSE IN MY LIFETIME I AM NEVER GONNA SEE MY ARM INSIDE 😂😂
Jokes apart, I am happy that u doing better and I wish u never see your arm inside again😂😌, take careeee Rachel❤
tell me why I started tearing up too when Rachel was in pain. Hope you're feeling better boo
You guys have such big hearts omg
i knew you were gonna put a warning before the clip (just because why wouldn’t you haha) but still every three seconds throughout the entire video i was like “oh gosh it’s gonna happen now!!!” hope you heal quickly and feel better soon ❤️ and i also just wanna thank you for sharing your issues with body image, it can be hard sometimes to watch people online and feel like they don’t struggle with the same things you do, so i thought that whole part was really comforting
oh crap...did Rachel just c-walk(I loved that)? I loved that dance montage during workouts. Girl, you got dance moves. Awesome video as usual Rachel...except for the hurting your arm part
I'm so sorry about your arm!! I tore my ACL and it was pain like I never experienced before. I had flashbacks watching your injury. So awful. Do EVERYTHING your physio tells you to do and you will be fine!
‘At least it’s not my Anki arm’ 🤣🤣
Glad to hear that you didn't have a fracture, hope your recovery goes quickly :)
Moral of this vlog: "Use to be a gymnast" means you arent a gymnast anymore. Just kidding 😂 ...Get better soon!
LMAO right. I shouldn’t have done that woops
As a Med Imaging Tech i'm so bothered that they did the X-ray with your chain on lol. I really hope you recover fully soon
I had an xray today with my watch and necklace on. They didn't make me take them off.
@@sharonhonsvick7751 Its more harmful because x-rays tend to attenuate in more dense objects (like metallic things). Next time please take them off for your own safety ❣😩
@@joyanntodd1341 ok I didn't no that. Thank you for telling me. Sorry if my comment sound mean.
Okay, as a gymnast who wants to go to med school, I actually dislocated my elbow and let me tell you, to keep me calm my coach was like “name the bones in your arm” so yeah I was fascinated by what was happening to me too lol.
her videos have become my escape from stress now bc idk her voice is like soothing if that makes sense.
The DIY shorts segment could not be more true! I feel your pain😂😂😂😂
Oh Rachel! My husband came running because he heard me yelp when I watched that back walkover. I’m so sorry you are injured! 🤕 💜🌸
1) your body is perfect the way it is! 2) Gage is giving me Shawn Mendes vibes 3) I’m sorry you hurt your arm. Hope it heals fast
Thank you for sharing your struggle with body image! I’ve struggled with an eating disorder for the longest time so i appreciate when people with a platform share their struggles. Love your videos 💜💜
Wishing you a speedy recovery! I am taking orgo this summer and your videos help me find the motivation to study and are fantastic ❤️ Thanks for reminding all of us premeds that we can do anything we put our minds (and hours of hard work) to!!
I nerded out so hard when I saw you liked this!! You are a wonderful human ❤️
I burnt my thigh this week...hurts so bad😭😭 but seeing you still so happy and teaching anatomy and studying I feel so happy❤ Take care get better soon❤❤
Watching your videos motivates me to start med school at age 32; your doing awesome very much proud of you...continue to strive and remember your not only doing this for yourself but for the ones that think it's not a possibility. Be safe. 🇯🇲
glad that you spoke about body image because alot of people think that bc they work out and eat healthy they are going to have a certain body type. i have seen it all the time, and then people stop working out (esp females) because they realize they just cannot achieve that body type. its mainly because these influencers and celebs get surgery and then fake work out...when they did not achieve that body thru working out !
Great to see you out and about 😬😊 hope you recover very soon you’re strong 💪🏽 so have every faith you will .... ✌🏼🇬🇧
So torn between watching this tonight (PH time) or watching this after I’ve completed binging all the past vlogs!!! 🙃
Watch this now since it's live!
"its not swollen" bruh your elbow bone is gone lmaooo! you handled that like a chaamp!!
HAHAHAHA THAT IS WHAT IM SAYIN. and they told me it wasn’t swollen.....HMMM!?!?!
You just said "Body Image" and I was like OH MY! YES. . YES. . YES. No matter how much I progress, it is never satisfying because all that matters is perfection. :(
Hope you heal quickly! I did the same thing back in my gymnastics days so I can relate to your pain... it was the worst. Dislocated my elbow, tore 3 ligaments and had to have reconstructive surgery. Proud of you for chugging along and continuing to study despite the distraction 👏
God Bless you! I pray a speedy recovery for you !
Girl, I did the SAME thing throwing round off back handsprings in the grass when I was like 25... broke my L ulnar bone and was SO painful. My mom said she heard my bone pop when my hands hit the grass. Hope you're feeling better!
I hope you feel better soon! I had a similar thing happen to me, I fell on campus during undergrad and dislocated my ankle really badly. Had to get surgery and everything. Thankfully I had good friends that were able to keep me company in the ER. Love your videos, they are so inspiring and comforting to me rn 💖
Being a med student, were you a ‘good and helpful’ ER patient? Did you immediately know the problem?
I am a medical student aswell!
You've inspired me to make my own RUclips channel.
You've inspired me so much! Love you so much!💞
Me: It can't be that bad that it requires a warning.
*hears crack*
Me: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
same 😂
Oh my goodness Rachel, I hope you get better soon! I so admire your ability to stay positive even when things are tough, stay strong girl❤️
rachel i hope you arm is feeling better i could not stand see you cry and get well soon. much love
I just want to give you a hug. So sorry that happened to you. I hope you make a quick recovery.
Omgg i cringed at the sound, I can't imagine how it must've been editing it😔, hope you feel better soon❤
it was so hard to edit omg
Hey Rachel, you should try massaging your kale with some olive oil and salt before eating it. It makes it WAY BETTER 😊
I hope you feel better 💜 sending you positive thoughts 💜💜💜
Wish you fast recovery. And remember you are red ant, you’ll get though this!!
Hope you get better soon and your school has very good insurance too.
Soo sorry to hear about your arm Rachel! Hope you make a speedy recovery. I’ve broken bones of my own in the past and it sucks bc of how long the recovery time is. Good luck in your recovery and take care of yourself!!
The editing Rachel and that laugh at 3:20 JUST KILLED ME HAHAHAAH 😂😂💀
I hope you are fine! Please do take lots and lots of care! Lots of love and prayers for you girl!
Omg noo :(( hope you are doing well now! First trip to the ER was when I broke my arm too, someone shoot a football to my wheel when I was cycling and he did it on purpose like I said don’t do it and he pretended to do it and after that he really shoot :( That happened 7 years ago I think
aw omg I hope you get better soon! Idk if this is gonna make you feel better or not, but I hurt my inner thigh, adductor muscles like 6 weeks ago and I'm still not fully recovered ugh but I feel your pain! btw I'm a med student too! love you!
Hey, iam new in your channel. Noticed and seen some of your vlogs today and i must say i just loved your vlogs. They just felt coming directly from heart,no filter. You look so genuine and hardworking at first sight. Will definitely follow your videos.keep it up dear
Hearing the snap of you breaking your arm reminds of my osteology class where all we saw was sports videos of people breaking their limbs. It was cringing but fun at the same time. Hope you get better soon
I hope you feel better soon and you’ve got a great solid group of friends that came to your rescue! Keep em around forever!!!!!!!!
At first I thought “wow Rachel is going to a medical practice in the ER! Wow!”. Later I see your picture and was like “oh she IS going to the ER but as a patient” haha. Hope you recover soon, and get better! 💕
Hope you get better soon Rachel. Love your channel 🦋
When I heard that crack, my heart beat went 📈📈📈📈

Aww I'm so sorry you had to go through that.. but thankfully it's not as bad as it could've been! Hope you get well soon!
Me: *sees the caption on the first frame of the vid* “RACHEL BROKE HER ARMMM! 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺”
My brother: “bruh we’re in quarantine, what is there to break it on?”
Me: “SHUDDUP I’M WORRIED ABT HER”
I literally read the tittle and say: WUUUUT?!
Omg i just love you ❤
I'm so sorry about your arm 😔, i hope you will get better soon, don't forget we are here for you and you will get through this, you are a Red Ant 💪🥰
OMG GAGEEE also omg I hope ur ok u looked like u were in so much pain stay safe!!🥺✨
I hope you can get in for your MRI soon! I fractured my greater tuberosity and had shoulder surgery in March so I kind of know what you're going through with lack of mobility.
My best advice is to watch videos on youtube on how to put up your hair with one arm! It was difficult to learn but once I got it, my self-confidence grew a lot because it was one less thing I needed help with.
Get well soon!!
OOOOO great advice. Thank you!!
I clicked as soon as I saw the video.I was so stressed this entire vlog waiting for the part where you break your arm, but great video I really enjoyed it. I hope your healing process goes well. You are such an inspiration. Btw your hair looks so pretty.
New to the herd, I really like your vlogs and you are so inspirational. You kept me going through my engineering studies in quarentine. Get well soon. Take care. 💓
rachel, tysm for talking abt body image, it helps to know that i'm not alone. you're so freaking beautiful inside and out, and i look up to u sm... thanks for being such an amazing role model
Rachel!!!!! Be careful :( Glad nothing is broken, feel better soon! 💕💕💕
Rachel! I know this may seem odd, but my family has been using cabbage for injuries similar to yours and even things like a sprained muscle/tendon. Buy a cabbage and remove some leaves off the cabbage, wrap your elbow with the cabbage leaves and then wrap it up with an elastic bandage wrap. Change it/replace it in the morning and at night. Cabbage has been known to reduce inflammation, remove fluid buildup, and decrease pain. There has been research done on the effects of cabbage. I think it will allow your elbow to heal faster with less pain. Good luck! :)
Repeat with me Rachel I'm not a lobster I'm a RED ANT
So I used to be a gymnast too and this just convinced me to not do back walkovers anymore. Hope you feel better!
Omg I cried for you. I am so sorry that happened to you. I hope you are feeling better now. ❤️
This couldn't be more relatable omfg! During first month of the lockdown, I was showing off some dancing ballet tricks to my lil sis when I tripped over and hurt my right hand so bad, I thought it was broken. It was not tho
I know how you feel! I had a muscle tear at my rotator cuff muscles and it has very painful.
That is crazy! And you got it on camera woaaah, I felt all my hair raise when I saw it 😱. I hope you feel better soon!
I really enjoy these vlogs a lot. Oh my heart stopped with the arm breaking clip. I hope you get better soon Rachel!! ^-^
Duuuddeee I am so sorry you hurt your arm! Looks extremely painful. I hope you feel better soon. ❤️ Love your videos!
I know that feeling
I had a rotator cuff injury during volley ball game
It has been 4 years
It still hurts
Get well Rachel! Nice editing and that with one arm. 💪. Hope the pains is less now. Best wishes
I was a gymnast too and I’m applying to medical school this cycle! I’ve been doing some at home workouts too so this has definitely freaked me out a bit, I’ll be more careful from now on 😅 hope you have a quick recovery, hang in there!!!
