Hi everyone!

Please only answer the anonymous survey if you meet the following criteria: cis-female, U.S. medical student, sexually or non-sexually active, heterosexual or homosexual, and not pregnant.

Hi Rachel! I was wondering if you could please link the chair that you use 💕 I’ve been looking for a new one since mine is trash and my back is begging for some support 😭
Have you started on ECG ??, the graphical representation and it's interpretation .
This can be idea of next video , I guess .
Doctor Mike is making October "collab month"...you should hit him up and do a video 🤣
OMG IS HE REALLY
@@RachelSouthard yes. He said it in his last video...🙂
@@RachelSouthard yeah he said so 😊
@@RachelSouthard thatll be lit if you did
Peewoop!
Wait a second I don’t wanna do math
I wanna do meth
same😰
your channel grew quick.. congrats on surpassing 100k...
Medicine is basically maths disguised as biology..... Learnt that after spending 8 years in medical school...😅
Congratz southard..
8 years in med school??
Dang; 8years? What med school did u go to ?
To* everyone wondering why so long, they probably did a type of medical school straight out of high school and got the degree that way.
@@Ahn-mu3db in Latin America medical school is looonger. It depends of what country are you from; in my country med school is 6 years. I heard in Peru is 8 years, other places are 7 years. The only good thing is that we get graduated from high school at 16-17 y/o so you're still younger when you finish with med school.

I’ve definitely done this too 😂
are we not gonna talk about the speed that she watches her videos at? wow! incredible! I barely picked up what they were saying
am I the only one who feels like Rachel is about to cry the whole time?
.
I’m sorry Rachel I love you
I think so too....
Ahh I've been waiting for you to hit 150K the past few days, congrats! 🥰 and I'm looking forward to the new video too 😄
Yayyy!! Can’t wait 😊 I’m going to be sending in applications to medical school next fall. I love watching and seeing what you do and what I can expect. Thank you for all you do 🙂
sending positive vibes you’re way, you’re such an inspiration for pushing through low points 🥺
Congrats on 150k !!!! So glad I found your videos. So helpful and you’re an inspiration! ❤️👏👏👏
I love how you talk about the impact stress can have on hair loss! My friend and I have been going through it lately as well. We’re studying for our MCAT currently and bald spots are definitely starting to form 😬 so thank you for sharing that with us and letting us know that it’s normal for your body to react this way when under high amounts of stress. ❤️
Rachel!!! I been subscribed to your channel for a pretty long time now❤🐜
You have taught me so much. I started using Anki and I got the highest score for my test. Even my professor asked me how and now my whole class is learning about Anki. I love you so much 💓 You are so inspiring!
Girlll you can do this! I did Respiratory school and this is my life 24/7. You inspire me, love watching all your videos! ❤️
muah 💋! Congrats queen for hitting 150k on youtube luv u loads 🥰
Congratulations on 150k!!!! Soon 200k
HERE since 50K love you girl!💞
Honestly your the only youtuber I check for, your content is genuinely amazing! :)
Rachelll congrats on 150k :)) been here since 53k
Thanks for the vlog Rachel. Happy tot see you have fun with the accents😉. The study with me, did a lot of good work this month for me. Thanks!!!
I'm a first year pharmacy student and while I don't actually know you and your life, I feel like I can relate so much to what chapter of life you're in.
I went from working full time to school full time and I thought there would be no way I could sit at a computer all day and learn so much material, but I'm amazed at how many hours I sit at my desk and study without even realizing it.
One of the hardest parts to school this quarter has been the loneliness. Especially for me in my first year, sitting there alone wondering if anyone else was struggling how I was was not a good feeling. I'm glad you were able to find someone to "study" will and fill that void.
While I knew to expect math in medical school, I was not expecting it in literally every one of my classes. We were just going through those same renal compensation equations.
It's only been five weeks, but looking back on how much more I already feel I've learned and know makes me feel like all this is paying off.
Event though it sucks, I hope you're finding the good in everything right now and enjoying the overall picture of what you're accomplishing! I can't wait to see what you continue to accomplish.
Racheallll. Love ur videos.... It hella motivates me.. Go girl! 🥰😍😍
Congrats on 150K!!!! I love watching your videos! :)
I think it’s insane how fast your channel has grown!! I think this just shows how great it a channel this is and how positive you are!! Much love
I'll be in a health lab when this premieres but I just wanna say congratulations Rachel!! So happy and proud of you❤🐜
Your channel is so amazing, I've been watching you all day long🤗
I want to go to medical school as well so you're a great example of the reality in it and a source of inspiration💞 so thank you for that 💓
She is great!
You're sooo gonna crush that Step 1. Fear is the major culprit of doubting your knowledge. Believe in yourself and trust your knowledge, it is there. When that chip of doubt is turned off in your mind you'll see. I wish you lots of success and luck they are the residue of hard work. 💪🏼
I've been here with you on your journey ever since you began first year of medical school!! so cool to see how much you have grown :)
One of the coolest parts of RUclips!
We appreciate even your upset moments because it’s real and authentic. The only reason you get feedback on it is because we care and just worry if you’re to stressed because not all of us have that much pressure.
thank you rachel just thank you from a fellow stressed student, love your vibe and your channel has been a gem to find
lovee
Thank you! Keep your chin up :)
Omg is there math in med school? Holy shit
😂😂😂
It doesn’t end! It NEVER ENDS! 😭😭😭
biochemistry,biophysics ofc there's math,everything revolves around math
I know right 😭😭 I’m so screwed
Math is basically the center of all the science....
Rachel, last year in my first semester of my masters i started shedding MASS amounts of hair from stress. It was so traumatizing and i actually took a semester off for mental health. But now i realize it’s very common and completely okay. I actually saw a dermatologist and now im on laser therapy and Rogaine! It’s helping :) just know you’re not alone. Love you so much girlfriend
That person who disliked without even watching is probably mad they have to take math classes in med school...js.
Heyyyy!!!!
I just want to let you know that you are a really beautiful soul❤️
May God bless you!
Congrats on 150k!!! You deserve it and so much more 😊😊
Yey! Cant wait for it Rachel 🐜❤️
We love you the way you are crying laughing study or or not just stay like you are
I love the way you always end the vlogs saying "continue to work hard and all of that good stuff." Congrats on 150 k 🐜❤️
Just wanted to say I love your videos! After changing my major 3 times I eventually got into an LPN program (Graduate in January) but I'm SERIOUSLY considering premed after. I'm constantly discouraged since i'm 29...but I would still be a doctor in my 30s (a resident yes but it's still an amazing accomplishment) keep up the amazing work we are all rooting for you!
Thank you for sharing all of your time management and study strategies.
I just can't wait for your USMLE preparation vlog!❤️
Lmaoo omg girl, when we started the math in cardio and pulm (ugh esp pulm), I was this close to dropping out! I actually cried about it on a vlog but I'm too scared to post it lmao. And it doesn't stop as a resident either 😭. I damn near failed math in college for a reason, like leave me alone please :(
But then again, that was just me overstressing about everything cos it got better after some practice 😂
HerMedSeries oh god what all math is there in med school?
@@Chupacabbra1121 It's definitely nothing like calculus for sure cos whew. It's more like chem; understanding the concepts, learning the formulas and then solving the qs. But I just dont wanna see it again 😂
HerMedSeries you just assuaged a lot of my worrying, thank you 😂
@@Chupacabbra1121 no worries! 😂
I can assure you that med school, content wise, is not difficult. Nothing like orgo or physics. It's just a lot, which I'm sure you already know :)
I've been following this vlog for the past 2 years. I recently finished my 1st semester of medical school, and I can attest her videos explain the process and the day-to-day to a T! I didn't understand a lot of it at first, but these videos have helped me so much with the transition into med school. Rachel, I don't know how you managed to juggle everything but well done! Wherever you are, I hope you're thriving! 🥰
Congratulations! I'm proud of you :)
Thank you Elle. Best of luck to you!
Congrats on 150k 💛 love your videos 💛💛💛
Rachel, you help motivate me to study and your want to continue learning encourages me a lot
So cool to see people being inspired on RUclips! I hope you hit all your goals!
I actually like hearing about what you're studying and how your days play out. I don't mind what you think is repetitive etc. I like that it's a real look int med school.
Proud of u girl 🥺 congrats on 150k! Can’t wait to see where you go 🥰💖
1M next!!
Hey, Rachel! I’ve went through a lot of stress a few years ago due to school and I lost a bunch of hair. I know how hard that is, so I’m here to tell you and any other people who might be experiencing this that it is just a phase! If it bothers you, visit a dermatologist or someone else who can help you! That’s what I’ve done and now I can say that I don’t have to face hair loss anymore. Anyway, just try to keep calm and remember that all of the stress is gonna go away with time! You are amazing and you’re able to overcome whatever you are going through right now! X
Congrats on hitting 150K!🥳
Congrats on 150k💕
I don’t know how u listen to those videos so fast! Congratulations girl you deserve it!! ♥️♥️♥️
A huge CONGRATULATIONS on 150k subscibers.!!😍❤💯 Its so amazing to see u grow from 50k to 150k makes me so happy.!!LOVE YA.!!
It’s a pleasure to watch you
rachelllll first let me start by saying youre not only such a hardworker and my complete inspiration, but youre absolutely stunning! pleasee take supplements regarding any hair loss, i went thru the same when studying! I took a multivitamin targeting specifically hair nails and skin and it worked like a charm within 2 weeks!
Wait omg I love math now I'm even more excited to hopefully go into medicine :) congrats on 150k!!
You're crazy haha
Your such an inspiration
Pls dont hide from the camera, we all love u and want to know how u really are🖤🖤
Yes a zoom study please 🙌🏼
You really motivate me to do my biochem hw and study !!! Thanks :)))) I really like when you show us your work In your notebook
Hi Rachel! YOURE so inspirational and amazing!!! Can you do a video in the future about your medical school timeline. Like from undergrad to med school. And how that worked out for you :)))(
Best part of my fridays. Also you showing us those clips of when you’re upset or overwhelmed really make me feel less alone and make me feel like my feelings are valid when I cry from stress etc. hope you don’t feel like you can’t include them! Also hope you plan on releasing merch sooon!!
I literally wanted to go to med school so I can get away from any form of math, guess thats impossible.
Congratulations for 150k subscribers Rachel.
Hello, love your videos, very motivating..... also I like your stationary and supplies as they are basic and looks like have a nice grip so just a request if you can then please make video on what stationary supplies you use in your notes and daily basis:)
I was diagnosed with alopecia areata a while ago. I remember freaking out at first; I had gone to the hair salon when they found a patch on the back of my head. I've had injections in that area to help regrow my hair. It was a wake-up call to take care of my own mental health.
Love you my inspiration!!! ❤️
Wow, I remember when you hit 100k! That’s so awesome 🥳🥳🥳 I’m usually a silent supporter but every now and then I chime in 🤩💕
Thank you for sticking around Lindsey!:)
Omg this makes me so happy! 🥰🥺
Oh, this is interesting to me because I'm majoring in Biomedical Sciences but with an interest in Data Sciences. That means most of the electives I choose will be math courses (because calc is pretty neat if you ask me) and a few computer science courses. Also, I'm constantly on the lookout for any programming workshops offered by my school's student unions!
Anyway, if medicine is "basically maths disguised as biology" then I am DELIGHTED to hear that haha
JR Budomo Math and CS rock! :) CS&neuroscience major here
I love the blood buffer system!
The struggle you’re facing is a test to see if you’re truly committed to the life you say you want....just wanna share my fav quote...
Can’t wait! 💛
I went through that hair loss thing too but trust me if u can take 15 minutes to apply aloe gel and coconut oil mix before washing your hair... u can easily get over that hairloss.
Omg i remember that renal section in nursing school! I used the tic toc toe method to fig out compensation, full, or partial.
Rachel it's okay you can be upset on camera. I am also a medical student and know the hardships we have to go through! You're smart!
-love you ❤
Hello Mrudula Joshi, so you are medical student. Do you learn math? And is it hard? I know that you learn anatomy, biochemistry, physiology and pharmacology. But how about math, for medical student will it be hard if he or she is bad at mathemarics?!
You're on 150k?!?! I swear i was JUST watching you on 7k! Congrats gal!
please do more study zooms!! it was so much fun 😊😊
Love the walkthrough 🙌
Omg I love the acid base compensation! That’s what I do for my job 😄 I work in a clinical chemistry lab so we run arterial and venous blood gasses that provide clinicians with these results! Wooo yay chemistry and math!
You people are a strange breed haha jkjk that's awesome! Im happy there's people out there like you! certainly isn't me!
Not a doc, but went to law school. I worked weekends and holidays, as well as OT while I was in law school. This was mainly because there was a gap between my bachelor’s and law school, so I had already purchased a house, furniture, car, etc. that had payments due. It ended up averaging 30 hours per week over the three years, although I would take weeks off of work while I did externships, and likewise worked major OT on breaks.
PS I’m not someone who needs a lot of downtime or tons of social contact, so work didn’t take away from my balance. I think I would have loved med school but I was afraid of getting yelled at by attendings (1990s, before the large culture shift), so I switched gears in college.
Wishing you all an amazing day ❤️
we love you!!!
I like the new transition of you talking over a study clip!
Lectures on double-time! Meee toooo. 💕
you need to trademark and copyright the last saying you always say. "until next time, take care of yourselves, be kind to yourselves, continue to work hard and all that good stuff. Okay bye." You will shock how much someone and a company will pay you to use that line.
When I feel alone while studying, I've got u...
Hey Rachel. I was thinking of a video idea is like a zoom interview of some of the other students and their paths. Like the PAs, etc. 🤷♀️ I’d like to see other careers in the field. ❤️🐜
Rachel, you are absolutely kind and sweet. Glad you started your RUclips journey from day 1, because we are regretting that we began truly posting our podiatric medical school videos a little into our 2nd year. This will stay with you forever!
My hair loss problems have been occurring since I was in high school which is irritating (wish I waited until med school to stress out LOL). Also, although we already took the boards, we STILL don't want to talk about it. We do not want to relive 2nd year, but I still can't NOT watch your videos lol Keep it up, lady!
Yikes!!!!! Math, I have to face it soon, my hands are sweating thinking of it. I’m sure you will ace it 👍👍👍
Hi Rachel, I like your content. I love watching your videos.
Good luck on your step 1
you kept saying that you had no content for this one...it was so good!
Also, please keep sharing such case studies. They are so cool !!!
❤❤
Wow you're at 150k 😱 I remember when you were at 30k😱
How do you remember all the information from medical school? And how did you know being a doctor was right for you?
i like how she does that thing with her hair in the thumbnail...its cute
you inspire me! :)
The renal system was definitely my favorite section in patho 1 I'm in the last semester of undergrad and had a geeking out moment when you were speaking about the compensatory mechanisms of the kidney and the patient going into respiratory alkalosis, because while you were doing that problem I paused the video to try and figure it out myself and I got it right! Thank you for helping out a undergrad pre-med student, love your videos!
I'm not in medicine but as a paralegal taking care of my first big hearing, I lost patches of hair in the shower. It was so disheartening to see. I'm with you Rachel.
Can you do a video (or part of a video where you break down how you use first aid? Do you color code? What do you highlight?
This is the closest ill ever be in medical school. Living it through you
You could definitely do it too if you wanted to!
