- The Ka-52 Alligator is a next-generation reconnaissance and combat helicopter designed to destroy tanks, armoured and non-armoured ground targets, and enemy troops and helicopters both on the front line and in tactical reserves. The helicopter can operate around the clock and in all weathers. The Ka-52 can provide target acquisition and designation for helicopter teams and ground troop command and control centres. It can also provide fire support for troop landings, fly routine patrols and escort military convoys.
Ka-52 Alligator is fitted with signature control devices as well as electronic and active counter-measures. It meets the latest Russian and international standards for technical operation of military helicopters.
The helicopter has a two-seat cockpit and can be flown by either pilot. Its advanced flight capabilities - achieved in part thanks to its coaxial rotors - make the helicopter highly manoeuvrable in limited space and thus able to adopt an advantageous attack position.
The Ka-52 Alligator’s two VK-2500 turboshaft engines allow the helicopter to operate at altitudes above 5,000m. It has a static ceiling of 4,000m, and is able to take off and land in hot climates and in high mountainous terrain. The Alligator can also operate in cold climates and icy conditions.
The Ka-52 Alligator is equipped with the latest avionics suite and powerful offensive weapons that can be configured for a wide range of combat missions.
The Ka-52 Alligator offers a high degree of protection to its crew, advanced automated systems for ease of piloting, and is easy to service and maintain on the ground.

Russian Ka-52 Alligator Reconnaissance Attack Helicopter
Some information about this heli :The system used to send data is called S-111 , and has a speed of 34 mb/s :).The navalised version of the ka52 can even carry anti ship Kh35 missiles. The self defence suit is called president - S uses infrared laser to defeat newer thermal imaging missiles ,and also incorporates a radar jammer , designated L370-3. test footage of it in action is available on youtube , in a channel called husar01
Fun fact : he radar set on the apache is called longbow while the one on the Ka-52 is called arbalet (crossbow).
Self defence suit is called Vitebsk. President-S - is EXPORT version, not domestic.
don't you mean arbalest? =3=
Friend, you have surprisingly accurate technical information, just to add that it also has multilayer composite armor of important aggregates up to 70mm, the pilots' rescue system, and especially if it can effectively fight heavy equipment in any conditions, it is equipped to control the grounding and air targets in large numbers and thus acts as a control system for other combat components and so is often used. I have seen the production of Apach, where they glued to the inner surface of 2 Kevlar layers, which is sufficient for handguns at a longer distance - KA resists hand ground rockets air and when it comes to tail, its speed decreases ..V.
34 Mbps or MBps? Very important distinction.
@@randomnepali7772 It's арбалет, so arbalet is right.
The biggest advantage- and most under-rated feature- of Russian equipment is the ruggedness of design. A comparison of the ratio of maintenence-to-mission between this and NATO would show up a big difference in practicality.
and in price! see the analogy of the cost of Russian aircraft tanks, etc. and Western analogs))
Sam Russell You are right. Russian military industry has no super profits. It all belongs to the state. Cheapness and reliability is a condition for launching weapons in the series. Russians don't make guns for photo shoots and glamorous commercials. They make weapons for war.
Russian equipment works, usually.

America: This part is important so there must be back up subsystems to take over once it fails.
Russia: This part is important so it should never fail.
Crew ejection system is what other helicopters lack . Survivability of the crew should be priority
helicopters tend to be more safe in an unpowered landing than aircraft. But yea ejection seats definitely would help crew survivability. Kind of smart to discard the rotor blade. I was wondering how they go around that.
my dick was hard the first time i heard it has ejection seat
Yea, ejecting pilots right into the blades
Jaylin The LaxBro maybe you should watch the video first
So, someone didn't watch the video heh
This helicopter with a movable nose-mounted 30mm auto cannon would surely be one of the best attack helicopters in the world. In any case, the Ka-52 is my favorite helicopter and looks best by far.
This setup is known to beat the crap out of Mi-28s nose turret in precision.
The gun isn't completely fixed, it has ~5 degrees of horizontal traverse and ~40-50 degrees of vertical traverse IIRC
basic down-to-earth, fact based and interesting (NON-Autistic) video regarding military high-tec-equipment. Thats another good reason why I´ve subscribed to Matsimus Gaming!
Pilot ejection from a helicopter? Will the Russians stop at nothing? :) Damn cool
This is an absolute terror in Wargame: Red Dragon, especially when paired with the KA-50 Akula for tank busting. The SEAD missiles, AA missiles, and excellent optics, and heavy armor (for a helicopter), and its extreme speed for an attack helicopter make it one of the most difficult platforms to deal with unless you bring dedicated non-radar AA with extreme range. Something that many nations don't even have access to and many of the ones that do have options don't have reliable accuracy options.
I love finding out that it has ejection seats and the way they do it appears to be really intelligent as well.
My concern is the maintenance. Having the dual rotor system provides a ton of advantages, but that also adds complexity.
From what I can tell, they have slightly less autonomy as the Apaches, but with that rotor system it should technically be more efficient especially once it unloads some of its payload. Especially when considering its autonomy is figuring in the additional two pylons worth of weaponry.
I really like this helicopter it's definitely up there
The dual coaxial rotors were staple of the Kamov design bureau, but their latest design is classic chopper with tail rotor. Quess the double rotor isnt without its quirks.
The gun on the Ka-50/Ka-52 is actually very accurate because it has a long barrel. It's designed to be fired from a longer range and doesn't need to turn all the horizontally, especially as this is a highly maneuverable helicopter. I believe the gun was basically taken directly from a BMP and upgraded with a targetting system. The gun is not "dumb", the pilot or gunner actually has a helmet-mounted sight with which to turn and aim.
I actually asked that question a while ago. Thanks for clearing that up👍
Currently being used effectively by Russia as a vehicle destroyer from a safe 10km distance for which the Ukrainians essentially have no answer.

@@lupercali3951That's a normal thing in war.
Interesting fact.
Igor Sikorsky was born and raised in the Russian Empire. He was forced to leave the country after a Bolshevik coup in 1918.
In 1908-1911 he built his first two simple coaxial helicopter without a swash. Capacity built in September 1909 the unit reached 9 pounds. It was presented at the two-day aeronautical exhibition in Kiev in November of the same year. None of the built helicopters could not take off with the pilot, and Sikorsky switched to the construction of aircraft.
From 1912 to 1917 he worked as chief designer in the Department of the Russian-Baltic wagon plant in St. Petersburg.
In 1939, he began to design in the United States single-rotor helicopters with automatic swashplate, which became widespread.
So remember that all helicopters on this planet have come up with Russians.

Fantastic video as always 🙂The Mi-28 is the 'Russian apache.' The Ka-52 is more of a highly advanced scout / special forces asset, and doesn't really have a western analogue. It is awesome at what it does tho. The reason for lack of turret is due to its agility - it can pivot the whole airframe as fast as most choppers can pivot their turrets. Lack of turret also reduces drag, which helps it attain the speeds it can. The mi-28 is more common in Russian survive as its less complex and less expensive in terms of unit cost and operational costs - coax helicopters have far more complex gears and the like. Speaking of coax helicopters, Kamov have been doing this for a long time, it's their signature thing. Previously they used it on small naval ASW helicopters, as the coax design allowed them to be more compact. Check out the Ka-25 to see what I mean. But try not to laugh, it's 'stubby' for a reason 😜
i dunno why you said this has been put to the side. because the russians, ukraine and most countries that have this craft use them. russia uses the hell out of them. this is a badass helo and they know it and use it.

you sounded kinda skeptical about this weapons main gun. i understand your trepedance. i too was doubtful at first. however the gun is not a fixed gun. it indeed can maneuver outward, inward, and up and down. but how its meant to be used is exactly why it was put on this craft. if you research the tactics related with this craft you will see that they (russians) made this gun semi rigid is because of the tactics they employ that only this craft can pull off. theres a way that they can rotate the craft around their target, its really interesting.
Since there is alligator attack chopper, looking forward for Crocodiles attack chopper. :D

MI-28 is better, because have rotational turret, and better armour.
No question that the Mi-28 is great but the Gun on the Ka-50/52 can also rotate down up and to the right. And because the Ka-50/52 can fly sideways with alot of Speed and even backwards - I rather use the Ka-50/52! Also: The Black Shark and Alligator look SO COOL!
This machine have some advantages over Apache:
1 - ejection seats
2 - speed
3 - range
4 - payload & agility
5 - price
It has some truly glaring weaknesses too though. It lacks a gun turret that the gunner can control with his helmet site. It also lacks the rotor mounted radome so it can target enemies while still in cover.
@@Elthenar - new variants will bring the rotor mounted radar, and the NPPU-80 gun is movable, true not helmet controlled. Considering the KA is less than half an Apache, (16mil. vs 35 mil !) I think the winner, overall, is the KA-52. You can buy 2 KA for an Apache and still save some 3 millions !
@@mirandela777 The high mounted radome will be a big improvement.
As far as cost though, I am always skeptical of posted numbers, especially from Russian sources. There is just no way a KA chopper costs half of an Apache. Look at the F-35. There are sources claiming the A model costs anywhere from 85 million to 150 million.
I'll give Russia credit though, those contra-rotating props seem like the future.

@@mirandela777 Possible. Like I said though, I've seen quotes on military costs that vary so widely that I tend to ignore most of it. You are right about US procurement though. It's not quite for the reasons you think though.
In the US, to get something approved it must go through congress. People in congress care about one thing, getting re-elected. So when a big project comes up, everyone wants a piece of it in their own state because it makes them look good in the eyes of the people who would vote for them. This makes our military production tend to spread out all over for arbitrary reasons and prevents things from being made in the most cost-efficient way possible.

The 52 and the 50, the Hokum (as I was taught it was called growing up) is a truly fascinating attack helicopter. Kamov really did a good job with a single-seater. Would 2 pilots be better? Yup - hence the KA-52. What a survivable design. Ejection seat for the KA-50 was really ahead of it's time along with the simple datalink system installed. DCS did a fantastic job with it's simulator. I flew KA-50 1 but have not had the time for the 2nd version. Great work as always Matty.
Chew baccarat the other version and it's such a badass name

Blackshark is the KA-50.
id love to see you get back in to the ka-50. shes a fun beast to tame and insanely powereful if used in the correct hands.
the ka-50, is called the 'akula' (this is russian for Shark). it was originally designed before the ka-52 and still sees service as a scout and CAS chopper for special forces and recon. so calling it the blackshark is quite appropriate.
Hokum -a/b are the NATO reporting names.
I think the best way to discuss about Military Equipment from different countries, is to accept, that they arent often a clear superior winner.
At example the apache and the K-52 both have their individuell strength and weaknesses.
Archaeopteryx I never say something is better than the other really. I try to stick to facts and then my own opinion. But even then I base my opinion on a unbiased state
lmao, what? Ka-52 is superior in everything, unless you are yankee fanboy.
Events develop in such a way that, probably, soon we will be able to find out which of us is better in real combat. We will be able to compare both the air force, and ground troops, and the navy and nuclear missiles. It's a pity that there will be no one to sum up.
The most important mistake is to compare only equipment staff and technical characteristics. Do you know that US (NATO) and Russian attack helicopter tactics and usage are quite different in many aspects?
ruclips.net/video/C_zg4Vsf0qs/видео.html can apache do this?
All Russian military equipment is cost effective.
I would call it cheap rather than cost-effective. Because making 2 pieces to do the job of 1 is not a good method of saving money.
@@HanSolo__ and yet thats what the americans do
@@HanSolo__ A tail rotor wastes about 30% power compared to coax like Kamov's. Because, the part you actually want to spare is a large driveshaft that is inside a conventional tail. Also, major bonus to suitability. So, it is 2 pieces instead of 3, more like. BTW, if you look carefully, the Chinook also uses two counter-rotating rotors instead of a tail one, albeit not one over another. This way, both rotors contribute to lift. (as opposed to a conventional tail rotor, which does nothing for propulsion, only stabilization) Therefore, the only cheap bit observed is what you've got for brains.

The ability to carry Anti Air Missiles should not be underestimated.
Absolutely, self defence capability from enemy air assets by rotary wing is really important
The Zulu Cobra can take Sidewinders, and I'm pretty sure the Apache was designed to take stingers on the stub wingtips?
NATO helicopters also carry small Air-to-Air missiles, like Stingers. Those 30MM are just as powerful :)
Air assets are usually moving a 700-1000 knts. A mach 1.1 missile being fired from a heli moving at ~100kmph will not be anywhere near as effective as one fired by another air asset or even a SAM. However, even though it is unlikely to hit/kill, it does force the air asset to go defensive, which could save the life of the heli crew.
@@KaDaJxClonE bullshit. Most air assets are not moving at 700-1000 knots. Even today with planes capable of super cruise most military planes still require afterburners to go super sonic and use them sparingly to save fuel or are not capable of those speeds to begin with. Even if we are talking about only super sonic capable planes they still fly subsonic the majority of the time. Your statement could not be further from the truth.
isnt that the cutest nose radar you ever did see
I was thinking, no AESA? Weak.
Also, NVGs for navigation at night? Heads up display?
All that needs to be integrated into the helmet and nav/attack systems.
All of that has been state of the art in attack helicopters for decades.
@Kriss Odinson
Well, the Mi28 has all those systems. Its Russian.
The Eurocopter Tiger has them.
And of course the US Longbow Apache has them as well.
The systems on that helicopter are outdated. You don't need to be an expert to see that.
@Kriss Odinson
The reason I'm saying this is because in the video its stated that the company has had difficulty finding buyers for the helicopter.
Obviously the helicopter is badass in certain respects, no one can say otherwise.
But say you're a small country and you want to purchase say 20 attack/reconnaissance helicopters. You go to the Russians and look at the latest Mi28 with the latest phased array radar, imaging infrared systems, and an integrated navigation and attack system and then you look at the Ka52 with its 80s era systems the choice is kind of obvious.
Now it could be that because the systems are older its possible that they're easier and simpler to maintain. That would be something to consider if you're from a poor and underdeveloped country where the average aircraft maintanance people dont have the education and training that aircraft maintainers in more developed countries would have. It comes down to logistics.
There are a lot of factors that go into why a certain country would want to purchase a given system. The south korean military chose to purchase the AH64D Longbow. Why? Because its probably the best system in the world and they can 1, afford them and 2, maintain them. However they're not slaves to the American defense establishment. They were offered the patriot 3 missile defense system. They chose the Russian S400 instead. Why? Because the S400 is a far superior system.
Again, you don't need to be an "expert" to understand the basic facts and logic behind these things.

Mat, what's your stance on Chinese technologies?
Honestly, i want to hear your comment on Chinese tanks wheel falling off in Russian Army Tank Biathlon xD
Chinese military, for the most part, tends to be copies of Russian tech with some of their own spin on it. The Chinese make and sell a version of practically everything they've ever licensed from the Russians in the past, like the MiG-21, which is a very popular fighter for poorer nations. But they have been trying to branch into developing their own designs that aren't just copies of Russian designs, but it remains to be seen if they're any good or not.
Riceball01 Maybe I can help with this little tidbit. My cousin works for a Erospace engineer company. (Don't want to say who, sorry), with very little info he could give me, "I can't say where we got this, but this country is ten years behind us, but they are catching up fast." His job is countering other countries A/A missiles.
That matches everything I've read and my own impressions on the state of Chinese military tech. They've really come a long ways in the past couple of decades or so considering that they were probably around 20 - 30 years behind previously. Still, it seems that there are still some things they haven't quite figured out/mastered yet and jet engines seems to be one of those things. Subs seems to be another as they generally don't send the few nuke boats that they have on long patrols, instead preferring to stick relatively close to home and for short spans of time.
I saw this one in real life up close on MAKS-2009 airshow in Moscow, they're pretty awesome
Getting rid of the tail rotor is a stroke of genius, it makes it practically impervious to small arms fire and that gives the crew confidence in theatre.
@willl 88 how the fuck would you hit one rotor on top of the other together
@willl 88 true, yet it is possible to make automatic maneur limiters to prevent this. I dont really get why engineers has not done it for this piece of equipment.
@@starrynights467 fun fact, the KA-52's rotors will actually collide at high speeds due the bottom rotor getting more lift and bending into the path of the top rotor. That is the limiting factor on its speed. The chinook is so damn fast because it doesn't need to worry about this. Downside is size.

@@crossinu3342 Maybe, maybe not. Most news on Ukraine are war propaganda.
About its fixed gun, pilots have hud mounted on helmets as apache guys have and can search for targets, once they lock on to it whole helicopter turns toward it at the speed apache gun would so its not a drawback of any kind.
Gun is in a semi ridged mount has maybe 5 degrees of movement elevation depression and traverse so you don't have to move the chopper for small adjustments.
What is a draweback is that the gun is off-center and every time it fires, the whole helicopter is pulled into a clockwise spin, which makes it very hard to hit anything with the gun. Also, it would be better if the weapons system officer could use the gun independently of the pilot, instead of having to point the helicopter at what they want to aim the gun at.
I'm not shitting on the Ka-52 and i'm not a Apache fanboy, but I think it would clearly have been advantageous if it would have been possible to mount the gun center line and fully swivel-able.
With the limitations and drawbacks to it as it is, I think it is questionable whether having that gun at all still makes much sense. Maybe the weight and space would better be used with more fuel storage.
Yes But There are Reasons its mounted on the Side. One Reason is High Stability When Full-auto Firing. And Another Reason is it's made for Air to Air engagements vs other helicopters Allows higher accuracy and better Ability to engage helicopters. Yes. Ik they have Iglas... But in Wartime sometimes you don't have the appropriate tools for the job. It has a lot of disadvantages vs ground targets. But more Precise VS Air and Armoured Targets. So really its your opinion what's more important.
Its put on right side to be more precise and have longer range and so that there is room on left for 1 person to get evacuated, can go left and right -2°30'...+9° and up and down +3°30'...-37° which is more then enough considering you wanna shoot from far away (up to 4km) and slow and fast rate of fire for ground and air with burst of 10 or 20 rounds (so it wont turn itself in circles by shooting)
There is no way the whole helicopter turns as fast as an Apache' 30mm. The Apaches gun turns as fast as you can turn your head, roughly. I cant remember the slew rate off the top of my head but i work with the armament systems on Apache's and i do not see anyway that a whole helicopter can turn that fast. Hell the 30mm turns fast enough to break legs, which is a constant threat for us who load these birds with DAPs (dumb ass pilots) abundant in the Apache world.
Ka-52 has not tail rotor! WHAT IS THIS BLACK MAGIC!
instead it has 2 big rotors hit them and it will result same as no tail spin :D
@@arturasnesakysiu1684 Hitting them? Yeah good luck with that mate. The chance that someone actually hits the rotors while the KA-52 is flying (and they fly fast!) is pretty small. But the chance being totally annihilated by the KA-52's rockets or the 30mm auto-cannon is pretty high. 😂
Dmitri T. That all depends on what you are firing at it don't you think
US and NATO: "Is it possible to learn this power?"
Oh, no black magic, just coaxial rotors that's all.
Sexiest Attack Helicopter
Unless you can do the upkeep, it matters not how good it may be.
They're getting shot-down left & right in Ukraine by Stingers.
Most people have mistakenly believed the Russian hype.
Russian equipment, due to the country's corruption, is barely in working order.
It is also vise versa in russia, they think their equitment is the best and the West thinks theirs is the best
Ethan Fallert world thinks Russians are better
@Ethan
LOL, no. You have no idea how far you are from the truth.
*Third World thinks russian equipment is better. Mostly because it's dirt cheap and dirt proof))
Unlike Americans, we don’t write in American videos that American technology is crap.
@Urban Student Prepper
I did no such thing, what I stated is a matter of objective fact.
The very impressive helicopter, no doubt about it. I am not expert neither for weapons nor for military technology. My field of expertise is elsewhere but by having a private pilot's licence and owning a small aircraft I am quite a passionate amateur for the technology in general, I guess same as anyone else.
Saying that I have to admit that I have noticed aircraft's with twin rotors but as I find helicopters as technologically too complicated and too dangerous because of their instability in the air, I wrongly assumed that it is just some experimental thing Russians stole from the USA. How wrong I was, that I feel guilty and ashamed of my ignorance and some preconceived fake believes incepted by trusting to our western anti-Russian propaganda.
Thanks for this eye-opening video and your unbiased and honest analysis. I am not so young any more with my over 65 yo and old habits die hard as we know no matter how wrong they are. Now thanks to you I will start to question my hard-wired beliefs as you demonstrated that the world is not just black and white as we were told for decades. Thank you very much, all the best from Berlin.
I am 20 and even i know that, simple piece of wisdom: Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see.
That presentation video has the soundtrack of Need for Speed most wanted police chases...
Dispatch, 10-71 in my position, we're code 3!
And when you reach heat level 11, this helicopter will be dispatched!
The moment I heard the track play I was like "Wait a minute... That's the NFS Most Wanted police chase soundtrack" xD
Well whoever picked the track for the video, they must be a NFS fan.
These pieces of junk russian helicopters are being shut down in Ukraine by cheap rpgs and manpads.
the best helicopter in the world ,the fear of nato and usa tiger paper .ukraine has suffer lot of damage from ka 52 ,your brain is washet by ukraine ans cnn satanist western media propaganda
Lot of BS. Thanks for the company video masquerading as a "Russian expert"
I love this helicopter so much, the ka52 is in the top of my favorite heli below the apache.
You just wanted to praise the apache
10% of the total KA-52 force lost in Ukraine so far. That's a horrendous attrition rate.
mhm rely on oryx, he will keep you full of copium.
Look missions they do.
sure according to western media which is 100% propaganda 0% truth 😂 after all who is the "WEST" ? the descendats of genociders, fascists and nazis - masters and inventors of propaganda 😉 if you believe anything they say - you are an absolute moron full of copium.
where are thousands of western and russian AA systems. Show me western heli who can do that. Apache only fly when they have advantage.
Это тебе зеленский сообщил...)))
Maximus, you are a cool dude, you like things that go boom and aren't bothered by patriotic bullshit! Just like myself! I am a cool guy who likes to watch how things work and make boom, don't care much about who makes what!
Pasha Pasovski thanks man!
What's this nonsense? Everybody knows the Apache & Abrams are the only military vehicles in human history.
Heueheueh.
You forgot the P-51 Mustang! Word has it that 10 mustangs won the entire WW2.
lalalalalala
Remind me what those pieces of metal did to isis in Syria..oh..I forgot they are isis air Force and armor.
*WESTERN FACIST DETECTED*
You have the truth about this - the propaganda has played an important role. The facts are that the KA50 and 52 are armored by multi-layer composite protection up to 70mm in sensitive areas and the cabin is protected even more. I saw the production of Apache, where the fuselage covered the inner surface with two layers of Kevlar, which would only help with handguns at a greater distance. KA gets hit by a hand missile and only disturbs the surface and when it loses its tail, it only loses its maximum speed. The Apace climbing is only 8 m / s, the KA manages 18 m / s and I do not even speak about the skill and equipment. What is important is that he is able to co-ordinate a strike against terrestrial and aerial targets in a lively number - this is probably more important than his individual combat action, even though he has proven himself in the toughest mountain conditions ... V.
Your also forgetting about the Jeep, you those things are equipped for space, yeah they were the first
Things on the moon!
Just think for the cost of one F35 you can have one SU35 AND a KA52. Its a bargain, I'll take 100 please
F-35: Stealth Fighter
SU35: Non-stealth Fighter
KA-52: Rotory-wing gunship.
Yes, for the cost of one excessively expensive flop you can have one mediocre fighter and one completely unrelated vehicle.
@Vaas Gaming.Inc
It's going to be in 10-20 years.
F- 35 😁
Fuckin badass
Wow, ejection seats!!! That's really impressive!
Hollywood and propaganda blinded us so badly that most of us didnt know that this exist..
Bigger reason is that like the Mil Mi-28 this helicopter had the bad luck of being developed during the tail end of the Cold War, so it took decades for it to start really being deployed. Even now the Russian army only has about 80 of these and 80 Mil Mi-28s in service.
The Apache (much like the Hind) on the other hand has been involved in dozens of conflicts around the world, thousands have been built and is in service for 3 decades now
How is that a fine example? Iran's command and tank crews were horribly trained, during the 1960s and 70s almost everyone agrees that Soviet armor was as good if not even better than Western equipment, and the Iranian M60s and Chieftains were badly maintained due to an arms embargo against Iran, while Iraq could service their T-54s and 62s because they werent underan arms embargo.
And in any case, as I mentioned, during the 1960s and 70s nobody was arguing that Soviet equipment was inferior. It's only after the 80s and the fall of the USSR that did they start falling behind. And it's not due to propaganda, it's simply because either their equipment is just ancient, or the new modern stuff that can compete with the West is so rare that it's almost irrelevant.
Sure the T-90 is comparable to Western armor, but Russia only operates about 400 of them. Hell, India operates more T-90s than Russia. Meanwhile the US has about 1000 M1A2s, Germany about 300 Leopard 2A6+, the UK has about 300 Challenger II's, France has 400 Leclercs etc.
You are right.
To be honest, why should/would Hollywood give a crap about Russian military hardware?
Hollywood and the western media are focused on the wars waged by western forces. What Russia does in its sphere of influence isn't a concern
of western entertainment conglomerates to represent fairly.
Kamov has been building tandem rotor helicopters for decades; mostly for naval use.
@@ianwalton284 the ka-50 had the same system. Its pretty tough, but the lower prop raises faster than the upper prop. This means they collide if the helicopter goes too fast.
the only helicopter with ejection seat ,tell me what western crap has that!
This didn’t age well
Now it aged like a milk, one has been confirmed been shot down by a Stugna-P ATGM an hour ago.
On top of every technical advance, KA-50 and KA-52 are downright beautiful aircraft. Sleek yet so fierce looking.
My only beef with it is the cannon instalation. It makes sense in the KA-50 since the pilor will use the weapon systems, but in the KA-52 version I really feel a 180 degrees "under the nose" cannon would be more efficient.
because ground support anti personal are role for Mi-28 while Ka 52 have advantage in speed and it role is scout/attack hellicopter, which surpose to give battlefield infomations for other forces to deal, or they should deal with rocket and missle. the reason that cannon is fixed in horizontal because it designed like gun speed, since it have high speed, so if it use the cannon, it would be straight run like Su 25. this designed philosophy already exited in Mi24P Hind F gunship version with duo 30mm(GSh-30-2) that come straight from the Su 25. it's surpose to be straight run like Su 25.while other variant of hind and Mi 28 designed to have 220/360 degree rotate cannon. And the nose of Ka52 contain radar compartment with kevlar composite nose cap, i don't think it's a good idea to put an undernose cannon at there, plus it would ruin air dynamic for the chopper
It's unlike the Mi24P. The Hind F had the side cannon because the side dual 30mms had huge recoil, even installed like that it presented problems to the flight controls during fire. Unless the Ka-52 is too light or unstable to have the under nose cannon, it's close to no advange, bar a small aerodinamic gain through less drag.
These things are not proving to be as formidable as advertised so far in The Ukraine.
They are, you just used to value Apache when they hit from 5km with no real AA and with complete air superiority. And we do not know how much damage they done because Ukraine wont show.
@@vedran939 they are mostly used as aerial MLRS, laughably ineffectual and uneconomical way of delivering unguided ordinance. A truck could deliver the same results and is far more cost effective.
And flying so low to the ground, completely negates the purpose of the ejection seats; if they are downed, there isn't time to react, pilots just crash land and die in a blazing ball of fire..
@@vedran939 just from photo evidence 1/6 of all ka-52 have been shot down. Not. Counting no photo evidence, flew back to base, or destroyed on the ground by artillery strikes. Not a very impressive piece of kit to be honest.
heeey, i gotta give it to 'em, this is a slick looking design and it looks like they really went the extra mile on it. good piece of hardware, props to the russians big time.
I agree, (and I was both an avionic systems repair soldier, and later worked in engineering in the avionics industry), and THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE BEAST! Super cool though!
Well with $16 million it's a rather cheap beast. Even the in my personal opinion inferior Eurocopter Tiger costs more (27-36 Million €).
Super. Respect from poland 🤝
K-52 is Alligator.
What about K-50 Black Shark?
Ka 50 is an older version.
