So all that pink insulation is fiberglass. Asbestos insulation was used on items that produced heat such as boilers, turbines and steam pipes. It wasn't typically used to insulate walls or a structure from the outside elements. Other items that contained asbestos that were not insulation related were floor and ceiling tiles. That boiler and pipes in the building near the end before the sprinkler system was almost definitely covered with asbestos insulation.
Okay, I'm going to head there for some fpv flying! I got a good clip from the sand and rock crusher in Hooksett that you had been to a year ago. Ty for sharing the places I also love to explore and fly!
Awesome exploration, quite interesting despite the devastation wreaked by time and fire. You guys make a great team - really enjoyed the back history and facts. Cheers!
Completely abandoned! In fact, before the fire, I read that there were homeless people living there for a time, so it’s been abandoned for quite a while now.
The stock market crashed in 1929. Ray Plastics occupied this building after the fact (the 50”s maybe?) They left sometime in the early 2000’s. Definitely not abandoned for century. Asbestos isn’t pink fiberglass. There was also a post office on site until the early 2000’s or the late 90’s. There was a fire at the Mill caused by a lighting strike in 2012.
I’d love to, I just don’t want to post the coordinates publicly on here… feel free to reach out to me on my Instagram account, jmassofficial, and I’ll gladly send them over to you there via DMs!
@@j-masssorry to leave a third comment on the same video but I had to, the tool manuals were bothering me, because they’re much newer than 1929, and I found out that the mill was actually used as a woodworking mill (hence the machine you found in the basement) until 1992! I knew it had too little decay for something abandoned in 1929
@megaaggron9778 oh wow, that’s fascinating! I did not know that! That completely makes sense to me, as I know there were quite a few newer things in that portion of the mill. Thanks for the interesting details!
I think it still should be. I haven’t been to this location since I filmed this video, but that was in early December 2023, so not that long ago… I doubt much has changed since then.
Maybe take the town names out of these, it makes it too easy to find. The more people that find the info online results in the places being destroyed and lit on fire
Grew up in the village. The first generation of my family worked in the mills. Thank you for being respectful of our past.
I live right next to this helped make the skate park with friends
Yooo that’s dope! That skate park was cool!
@@j-mass You should explore the abandoned buildings by ymca in Winchendon
Oh interesting, I’ll have to check those out! I’m not familiar with them.

Such an awesome video dude!! I have wondered about that place for a few months now. Loved getting to see all around it. You're the best!
Thanks so much man! Agreed, this place had piqued my curiosity for a while now, so it was interesting to finally go and see it up close!

I’m glad to hear that man! Good luck and be safe!

My old stomping grounds. Hung around and loitered here numerous times. We nicknamed the top of the old bell tower “The Bedroom”.
Great place to do some photography. You can see quite a few beautiful shots.
Agreed, you could probably take some phenomenal pictures here!
Lol I made that skate park
Didn’t know the old mill, as we call it there, was abandoned. Always thought people worked there for some reason.

@@j-massah nice to know
So cool 🥰
found the location exploring with my friend tomorrow cant wait! is there anything i should know before going?
Just be careful of the floorboards, the wood is rotting away and they are very unstable and dangerous!

Wrong mill. The one in the video is by the town barn, not the old Ray Plastics facility
lol I go through this town every time I’m going to NH I’ve been here so many times (not the mill but the town one day I wanna visit)
7 years ago I explored this factory and got myself an intestinal infection 😂
Did you eat the rotting wood or something?
@RadioRot1 no lmao I was being a dumb teen
you mind giving me the coordinates i live in the town next to whinchendon and would love to explore here i just cant find it anywhere online
I’d love to, I just don’t want to post the coordinates publicly on here… feel free to reach out to me on my Instagram account, jmassofficial, and I’ll gladly send them over to you there via DMs!
Right across from the harbour bar on 202
Looks amazing!!
Thanks, it was a fascinating place to explore!
That's my home town... I could show you some real secrets here.. just curious... Where are you from.
35:47 there were possible squatters in 2012, I found an article about a fire from 2012 that mentions there may have been homeless living there
Interesting! I just saw that article too-that makes sense!

What powered the machines?
My great grandmother worked in this mill as a child.
HEY MAN, local here. I’d love to supply you with some awesome spots to film at in the area.
Yo thanks, I’d appreciate that homie! Feel free to hit me up on IG at jmassofficial!

Yes
Oooh I gotta go there
Hello Handsome you are absolutely adorable ❤
LOL you are asking to die. I would've flown the drone than risking my life.
THERE IS NOTHING CREEPY ABOUT THE PINK PANTHER.
It’s from a cartoon I forget the name though but it’s an old cartoon

WAIT THE OLD MILL IS ABANDONED? WHAT
Do the neighbors call the cops on you if they see you
I did not have any problems while I was there, but it’s best to exercise caution and be safe!
Two gay blades 😂😂
