I felt useless, hopeless and negative thoughts are inside my head. My savings dropped to zero and about to get kicked out. But despite that, I always tell my self that better days are coming. And it came! Your time will come too and I don't want anyone to experience what I've experienced. It's okay to take a rest, but don't give up and please don't get discouraged.

My company has downsized 45% and it kills me how many SWEs I've had to call and apologize about their offers being rescinded. Love the transparency of your posts and wish our field was filled with more people like you tbh.
Yo Pan, sorry you had to deal with that bullshit man. I just wanted to say during my backend web dev / data science bootcamp over here in South Korea, I showed my team ur "software engineer interns on their first day be like" video which made all of us laugh our ass off when we were going through hard times(we had to learn some wild machine learning concepts after 2 weeks of JabbaSCript lmao). I myself graduated college with no job offer lined up, and coming from a non CS background, breaking into tech was not a fun time. Now I'm working at a startup as a data analyst and it's certainly not Meta or Google, but I'm enjoying it so far as a first job and think it's fun to work with a mid-sized group of people also. So anyway, just hope you don't get too let down by this news brother and keep your head up :)
sorry to hear this Pan, but one day I really believe you'll look back and be thankful it happened cuz i guarantee it'll lead you down a different, better path

I still ended up with a full time job because of my portfolio projects and my github! so I would say if you don't get an internship at least try to make up for it with strong projects to show companies you're capable and passionate!
@@BTSPeach1469 congrats on the job, and great to hear! I’m hoping to follow the same path of getting a job through projects, since it’s looking like an internship is not in my stars
@@beansconarroz many cs majors don't get or have internships. The college I used to work at at least 75% of the CS majors didn't have internships. Only a few did them after graduating. They also had weak portfolios simply because they thought they were better than software dev and BI students. My BI portfolio and GitHub was way better than theirs. @MikeProductions1000 I mean I do feel like if one's financial situation allows, doing masters isn't that bad. Damn, that sucks man. Big fan of your videos, one of my students sent me your first day software engineer video, and it was basically the same experience she had working with me. Hope everything worked out for you at the beginning of 2023
Watching the news of meta layoffs, the only thing on my mind was, "did pan lose his job too?😭" You're right though, others have it worse and with the community you have built, you're in a way better position. Good luck 👑
Honestly. this is better for you in the long term. I recommend starting at a smaller, younger company as a first job. There are also a lot of issues with big tech companies that people only realize after working there for a few years. Keep grinding
Let's face it, the writing was on the wall. At least you still have another semester and tons of time to look for another job. tbh tech is the only crazy place that gets you in before you're out of school. My friends and I were between 4-9 months unemployed after graduation. And I took my last semester in a school overseas so I was basically a holidaying hobo for 10 months. When I went back to school for a year to switch to tech and got hired 1 month before my course ended. Some of my friends dropped out with 3 months to spare because they got a tech-related job and didn't want to do an internship/project. Don't be too worried about the initial timeline, it is minuscule compared to your long career. That being said, if you still are in contact with your teammates at Meta, it doesn't hurt to ask them to let you know when they start hiring again or if they have friends at other big tech that are hiring. Also, are you open to working outside the US? The comp may be lower but the taxes and cost of living are a lot lower where I am at.
It was same for me dude, I share the feeling, I got a return offer for full-time SW after finishing the intern at Meta. It was sad to receive that email as well.
Guys don’t worry, we should all know by know this is a challenge from the script writer to setup for Pan’s next video… “I got a $1million offer from the Illuminati”
Good luck Pan and don’t worry we all are having a hard time CS is not easy at all there are ups and downs but we can 100% expect to suceed it just takes time 2023 holds something great for all of us
It's a frustrating situation to be in, but the right opportunity will come around, and all the good that it is to come your way in the future will come about since you're on this path right now. So keep your head up, and keep applying!
Dude to get A+ in those classes and get the return offer from FB, you’re clearly very very smart. Don’t sulk, just stay focused, and you’ll be on a path to great success again no doubt. Life is full of difficult setbacks, but you can’t tilt, you have to grind through them 💪

I quit my job two months ago and living with my mom right now. On Christmas Day, my mom’s apartment caught on fire 🔥and now we are at my aunty house until we get our apartment back. I hope you find a job soon. Best of luck 🤞.
I'm so sorry dude. That's so brutal.
poor guy... merry christmas, hope you'll do well
thanks, I will be fine 🙏
Pan, I am rooting for you to get a better job soon! You are my hope for a happy future and don't worry, Meta is dumb for losing someone as cool as you! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 😢
You not alone man. I feel like im at the verge if being laid off too lmfao.
It's hot in the frying pan making a steak. Well done, and
Happy New Year! Pray you will finish your studies, get new opportunities, new friends and new blessings.
Top committer man, that’s something to be proud of. You’ll find something soon.
yo, What a roller coaster, damn good luck in the next year.
Fr
Best of luck next year man. I just graduated from my Master's program in Business Admin, and feel the job search pain. I enjoy the content always!
Damn, that sucks man. Big fan of your videos, one of my students sent me your first day software engineer video, and it was basically the same experience she had working with me. Hope everything worked out for you at the beginning of 2023
I’m working at a startup, everyday feels like a time bomb now
dang bro that really sucks, hope u find one man!
I'm sorry to hear that this happened, but you're super talented and just need to find another team that would be lucky to have you. Happy holidays!
Ty, happy holidays to you too ♥
He'll be fine guys, he smart, I believe in him
so sorry, wishing you all the luck going forward!
"e-begging for a tech job" I have never seen pan so down bad 💀
Watching the news of meta layoffs, the only thing on my mind was, "did pan lose his job too?😭" You're right though, others have it worse and with the community you have built, you're in a way better position. Good luck 👑
Honestly. this is better for you in the long term. I recommend starting at a smaller, younger company as a first job. There are also a lot of issues with big tech companies that people only realize after working there for a few years. Keep grinding
Good luck bro! Just stopped applying to jobs🤝💯
My man 🤝
Sorry to hear that, wish you luck
Hope you get a job as soon as possible.
Not the "Help me" in the background☠️
Don't give up bro! You will be able to find a job and get stronger for better times.
It was same for me dude, I share the feeling, I got a return offer for full-time SW after finishing the intern at Meta. It was sad to receive that email as well.
You’re young you’ll be fine just keep applying
It's really unfortunate. So sorry to hear you lost your job. I still hope for the best.
You can do this!
I'm also CS recent graduate and having hard times finding a job 😥
Guys don’t worry, we should all know by know this is a challenge from the script writer to setup for Pan’s next video…
“I got a $1million offer from the Illuminati”
That's rough dude. Keep working. You will make it.
Pan, that really sucks - but you're a top bloke, honestly you'll find something soon!
Good luck Pan and don’t worry we all are having a hard time CS is not easy at all there are ups and downs but we can 100% expect to suceed it just takes time 2023 holds something great for all of us
Thx brother
This door closed so that another one could open. Youre still gonna go great places my guy💯👍

@@FryingPan everything will be alright mate 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Good luck out there pan, I'm sure you'll pull through. 💪
It's a frustrating situation to be in, but the right opportunity will come around, and all the good that it is to come your way in the future will come about since you're on this path right now. So keep your head up, and keep applying!
good luck for future bro , its down bad for me too but hoping to get something better next year
thanks, we will be fine 🙏
You got this frying pan!! Don't get burnt and stay strong 💪
ill try to support you as much as I can through your content
Dude to get A+ in those classes and get the return offer from FB, you’re clearly very very smart.
Don’t sulk, just stay focused, and you’ll be on a path to great success again no doubt. Life is full of difficult setbacks, but you can’t tilt, you have to grind through them 💪
Ty
Your abilities are so strong, I cannot imagine you will lose in the future. I hope you can get a job you love soon.
I'm pissed off about what they did to you
I'll keep rooting for you

don't worry, I graduate soon too, compared to last year and with the insane competition here, offers are hard to come by, the time will pass, right now it's just imperative to work on your skills.
stay positive , u gonna come back from this stronger
e-begging🤣
Shut up
Diamond 1 huh? That's the kind of determination that you need for this career. Good luck on the job hunt! You'll make it. Don't worry
I feel you bro, my intern offer at amazon got kinda half-rescinded (team i got matched with was gone, and bc hiring freeze other teams can not get approved for head counts) I felt so angry when i heard the news, like why am I the only one who is so unlucky? But as time goes on I'm not even mad anymore, just another bump in my long journey ahead. I wish you all the best and I'm sure you'll get your next dream job!
Hope everything turns out fine for u!
