This movie is low key depressing because he only invited those people to his factory because he was lonely and then at the end he only came to his house to have dinner because he never really had a family growing up because he ran away

In fact Wonka's father wasn't as bad as he is portreyed. He was a good dentist, doing his job, trying to maintain his family. He paid for Willy's braces, as he wanted him to have straight and healthy teeth, and that's also why he forbade his son to eat sweets. The only bad thing about him is that he didn't keep his son home, but you can tell how much he missed him, collecting all of paper articles about his commercial success. He was also proud of him

Violet: After winning the Factory, she participated in many competitions however during a candy off she lost for the first time due to a steroid test she failed to pass.
Veruca Salt: Winning the Factory not only causes her to lose her sense of reality but her sanity as well. Not satisfied of her victory she decided to not own just one factory but millions from all over the world. She has then became a dictator and caused World War 3, 40 years later she was assassinated during a parade.
Mike Tive: Seeming pointless to have a chocolate factory, Mike has shut down the factory which cause the second Great Depression. Mike has then been writing about all strange logics and science, his books sold so poorly that he believes life is so pointless that he committed seppuku.
Augustus Gloop: After winning the Factory, Augustus has done nothing to improve the factory. He eats and eats and eats and eats every single chocolates, candies, furnitures, animals and even Oompa lompas......a day later he died from diabetes which his parents took full responsibility of his death.

When you realized the narrator was an oompa loompa all along, who was voiced by Christopher Lee, who also played as Willy Wonka's dad in the movie. Mind blown.

So after watching the movie through youtube, i realised a couple things i didnt spot when young.
Wonka planned this all; even the opening going bad, he wanted to look like a horrible planner by making the stage light on fire so the traps for the kids would like too well planned for him. (Proof; in the elevator scene there is a burn centre for the dolls “relatively new”)
Wonka set the traps to teach Charlie how to run the business; dont know the moral behind each trap tho. (Proof; at one of thr last scenes charlie said “thats why you gave golden tickets” wonka’s reaction says enough) Wonka tried to make him flawless this way.
Wonka himself wasnt flawless, he never had a family.
