Bring on all the classics. A killzone remake with a PlayStation VR two port should be a no-brainer, same with resistance. Sly Cooper is a cool game, but it seems like Sony just gave up on a lot of their IP‘s like you were showing infamous gameplay in this video. Why did they stop the infamous franchise? I love Sony, but sometimes I can’t stand the decisions that they make.
I think with infamous Sucker punch wanted to do something different. They made infamous 1,2, festival of blood, second son and last light. They’ve only made one Ghost of Tsushima game 😅

Never have I own a ps3, but I do own a ps2 slim. Got like 15 games for it. If sony does choose to put ps3 natively on ps5/ps6 (which I do think it'll he ps6), I hope they keep the native bc on the console and do bc for the rest of the previous gen...at least ps2. BRING ON ALL THE CLASSICS
PS3 was actually the last platform I had discs on. They're packed away somewhere. Can't use em now anyway, but if the Pro has a disc drive like how they did with the newer PS5, I might grab that model.
I got plenty of ny ps3 disc and ps2 working on there working consoles but it would be nice to let them rest so a new console could take the mantle of playing them tell its lifescyle is completely drained to its end of any possibe use or repair
There's a chance that PS3 Dics support could be added to PS5...thou it would be impossible to add PS1 support. And the early titles of PS 2 since they were on CD... But they could go the " Scan your Game Case Barcode" route to snag a Free Digital copy of a PS 1 and 2 game.
@kaeganthornhill3936 Blu-ray drive is backward compatible with CD and DVD. PS1 and PS2 games are much easier to emulate than PS3. If Sony wanted to add disc support for ps1 and ps2, they would have done that already. I guess the main issue is the PS5 doesn't have the hardware to determine whether the game disc is authentic or not.
@@johnsonluk3468 Quite true, and I couldn't have said it better my self. Thou Sony choose to Mod the UHD drive in the PS5 to help insure the maximum speeds are reached. So they locked away CD support and limit DVD-R uses. So really they either need to come out with a " Legacy Plantation App" which Unlock the CD and Full DVD-R support ( and maybe add a warning stating- While using this App PS5 games won't work as efficiently, or maybe temporarily turn them off).....Or better yet to remove any flows/handy caps...Sony just come out with a Mini PS3 plug n play drive which support PS1 & 2 discs. Edit: And yeah like you potined out the PS5 doesn't sport the needed software/chipset to help identify real or counterfeit Discs..So they might ask for the Game Case Barcode.

There are so many titles on PS3..That I still actually play on PS3..I feel like Sly 4 is definitely one of those select PS3 titles..This explains why Sony has not fully pulled the plug on PSN (on PS3) some even say, Ubisoft even restarted servers on PS3 titles..Disc support > Digital support that's what I always say..but when I got my PS3..I got it once it was Jailbroken..so all of my PS3 are digital...except for few that I still have physical copies...God of War 3, God of War: Ascension..and a couple of more...This is only I can see Resistance and Killzone getting preserved..I would rather have it remade..but then again..its Sony....and we know how they treat their IPs (sucks though)..

Apparently the ps5 is still having issues handling ps3 emulation. I would love to play infamous in an upgraded fashion. BRING BACK KILLZONE AND RESISTANCE!!! The thing is that is really frustrating is that the pc community makes incredible emulation and backwards compatibility compared to the actual company that made them in the first place. If Sony is waiting for people to transition, that is messed up. Those of us that already wanted to upgrade have already done so. Clearly, you need to try new games. The Killzone & Resistance games were way more fun Ps3 games. Try those when/if they come to Ps5 backwards compatibility.
I have about 365 PS3 games on disk. I got most of them cheap. I collected last year when the GameCube hype was happening, no one wanted PS3 games at the time.
I don't want to pay for premium, I don't want only select titles, I want a full native direct emulator with no subscription requirements, I want to play any game I wish, I want things like Heavenly Sward as it's amazing and totally overlooked, I want the Resistance Trilogy of games to play, and if not then at least included as downloadable selections with again no subscription requirements and if not that then I want those titles fully remade for PS5 or I couldn't give a shit for any PS3 news, so to recap the only options I want are. . 1. fully functional native emulsion from disc through software update! . . . 2. Downloadable titles with no subscription requirements, from a massively vast library essentially including the games that have not already been or not planned to be remastered or remade for newer consoles! . . . 3. Remastered or Remade for PS5 including at least the titles I mentioned or I'm just not interested!!

Had more but must’ve lost some or got rid of some.
on ps6 not on ps5.... on ps5 there will be no emulation ( nativ) from ps3 games. my Ryzen 5800x 3D+ 32 gb 4000+mhz Ram and a Strix 4090 oc cant run the Emulation of Ps3 games with the most games in stable 30 or 60 fps most of the times...... so how the PS5 sholud do it .? i think on ps6 they will be an solution for all ( ps1,2,3,4,5) emulations but for now. there is just not Enaugh HorsePower/ Magic to do it with ( all important games ). Cell cpu is just not so easy to emulate like a x86 based Orignal Xbox, xbox 360 and so on.

Yes. I still have my PS3 games. All of the ones I bought. Never returned or traded anything. Why the hell wouldn't I or anyone else who had a PS3 NOT have them still? So, yeah, I want to put those disc in a PS5 and play them on the console.
A few years back I bought a ton of PS3 physical games(80in total), as I missed out on that part of the gaming generation and wanted to see what I missed considering all I had was Wii and Xbox 360. Backwards compatibility on PS5 for PS3 would make me skip the PS4 I've had my eyes on for the last few days.
I would love backwars compatibility with disk support. I have ps1, ps2, ps3, and ps4 games on disk that I would love to be able to play on my PS5. I Dont understand how Xbox can make a legacy system but Sony can't. Disk support is super important to as I've already purchased many of these games already and do not want to repurchase it, unless, I can use the disk for the license.

Personally, backward compatibility is very important to me as otherwise I'd have no (legal) way to play the older LittleBigPlanet titles alongside other physical PS3 copies of older games I use to play as a kid. I understand in the modern age not everyone values these older games and much prefer sticking to the newest, but it's important for preservation and those who do that these games can always have a modernized "home" to exist in one way or another.
I didn't buy many digital games on the ps3, the majority of games I have are on discord. Every cod from 4-bo2, the only bleach console game, db raging blast 2, so many classics I can't even name them all. Sony make this a thing

I’m not really a big PlayStation guy, but I’ve always wanted to play MGS4. (My PC isn’t good enough, and I doubt steam deck could run it properly). If they added ps3 disc support I’d 100% go hunt down a copy.
I was always angered that Sony didn't try harder to make the PS5 backwards compatibile with PS3 discs. At the same time, I don't doubt the explanation they gave about hardware incompatibility. That's why I held off on buying a PS5. To their, they made it PS4 compatible.
I would be happy if Sony does PS4 back compat! Love to play MGS4 without having to dustoff my old PS3 system! And no, the PlayStation 5 Pro it is not mentioned on the new Astro Bot game, and there is NO need for a PS5 Pro since the PS5 has NOT reached its peak yet!

Its amazing, people have been able to get PS3 emulation running on PC... which runs pretty much the entire PS3 library.... yet these devs who get paid and work for a billion dollar company cant even get emulation working lol....

Haven't played a emulated game on the ps5 that did not really suck to play. The graphics are like you need new glasses out of focus or you need your eyes checked. The tombraider game throughout all my saved games never to be found again.etc... the idea of backwards compatibility is great possibilities endless but not how it I right now
I don't know why infamous wasn't re-released it for the 10th anniversary of the game the 1st game was 9/10 and they could of re-released it onto ps4 along with 1st, 2nd game even the dlc's.

That couldn't be achieved through a firmware update. That would require a hardware refresh. The full disc backwards compatibility, I mean.

Never have I own a ps3, but I do own a ps2 slim. Got like 15 games for it. If sony does choose to put ps3 natively on ps5/ps6 (which I do think it'll he ps6), I hope they keep the native bc on the console and do bc for the rest of the previous gen...at least ps2.

PS3 was actually the last platform I had discs on. They're packed away somewhere. Can't use em now anyway, but if the Pro has a disc drive like how they did with the newer PS5, I might grab that model.
I got plenty of ny ps3 disc and ps2 working on there working consoles but it would be nice to let them rest so a new console could take the mantle of playing them tell its lifescyle is completely drained to its end of any possibe use or repair

I doubt Sony will add ps3 backward compatibility disc support on PS5. They want you to repurchase them just like ps1/ps2 classic games.
There's a chance that PS3 Dics support could be added to PS5...thou it would be impossible to add PS1 support. And the early titles of PS 2 since they were on CD... But they could go the " Scan your Game Case Barcode" route to snag a Free Digital copy of a PS 1 and 2 game.
@kaeganthornhill3936 Blu-ray drive is backward compatible with CD and DVD. PS1 and PS2 games are much easier to emulate than PS3. If Sony wanted to add disc support for ps1 and ps2, they would have done that already. I guess the main issue is the PS5 doesn't have the hardware to determine whether the game disc is authentic or not.
@@johnsonluk3468 Quite true, and I couldn't have said it better my self. Thou Sony choose to Mod the UHD drive in the PS5 to help insure the maximum speeds are reached. So they locked away CD support and limit DVD-R uses. So really they either need to come out with a " Legacy Plantation App" which Unlock the CD and Full DVD-R support ( and maybe add a warning stating- While using this App PS5 games won't work as efficiently, or maybe temporarily turn them off).....Or better yet to remove any flows/handy caps...Sony just come out with a Mini PS3 plug n play drive which support PS1 & 2 discs.
Edit: And yeah like you potined out the PS5 doesn't sport the needed software/chipset to help identify real or counterfeit Discs..So they might ask for the Game Case Barcode.

There are so many titles on PS3..That I still actually play on PS3..I feel like Sly 4 is definitely one of those select PS3 titles..This explains why Sony has not fully pulled the plug on PSN (on PS3) some even say, Ubisoft even restarted servers on PS3 titles..Disc support > Digital support that's what I always say..but when I got my PS3..I got it once it was Jailbroken..so all of my PS3 are digital...except for few that I still have physical copies...God of War 3, God of War: Ascension..and a couple of more...This is only I can see Resistance and Killzone getting preserved..I would rather have it remade..but then again..its Sony....and we know how they treat their IPs (sucks though)..

Astrobot development time is surprising to hear that it takes 3 years. So yes, I agree that Sony delayed it for the pro variation. That makes a lot of sense.
Backwards compatibility for ps3 would be utterly incredible although I am unsure if it is realistic. Perhaps they will lock it to ps5 pro or even Perhaps ps6. Apparently the ps5 is still having issues handling ps3 emulation. I would love to play infamous in an upgraded fashion.

The thing is that is really frustrating is that the pc community makes incredible emulation and backwards compatibility compared to the actual company that made them in the first place.
If Sony is waiting for people to transition, that is messed up. Those of us that already wanted to upgrade have already done so. Releasing this emulation software would actually entice people to upgrade.
Brother I would pay full fudging price for killzone remasters. I love that franchise so much. Honestly my second favorite Sony franchise. This is why it's important to hold onto legacy consoles and disc's. These games were on ps now, plus, and then randomly taken off over a year ago.

I have about 365 PS3 games on disk. I got most of them cheap. I collected last year when the GameCube hype was happening, no one wanted PS3 games at the time.
I don't want to pay for premium, I don't want only select titles, I want a full native direct emulator with no subscription requirements, I want to play any game I wish, I want things like Heavenly Sward as it's amazing and totally overlooked, I want the Resistance Trilogy of games to play, and if not then at least included as downloadable selections with again no subscription requirements and if not that then I want those titles fully remade for PS5 or I couldn't give a shit for any PS3 news, so to recap the only options I want are. . 1. fully functional native emulsion from disc through software update! . . . 2. Downloadable titles with no subscription requirements, from a massively vast library essentially including the games that have not already been or not planned to be remastered or remade for newer consoles! . . . 3. Remastered or Remade for PS5 including at least the titles I mentioned or I'm just not interested!!

on ps6 not on ps5.... on ps5 there will be no emulation ( nativ) from ps3 games. my Ryzen 5800x 3D+ 32 gb 4000+mhz Ram and a Strix 4090 oc cant run the Emulation of Ps3 games with the most games in stable 30 or 60 fps most of the times...... so how the PS5 sholud do it .? i think on ps6 they will be an solution for all ( ps1,2,3,4,5) emulations but for now. there is just not Enaugh HorsePower/ Magic to do it with ( all important games ). Cell cpu is just not so easy to emulate like a x86 based Orignal Xbox, xbox 360 and so on.

A few years back I bought a ton of PS3 physical games(80in total), as I missed out on that part of the gaming generation and wanted to see what I missed considering all I had was Wii and Xbox 360. Backwards compatibility on PS5 for PS3 would make me skip the PS4 I've had my eyes on for the last few days.
I would love backwars compatibility with disk support. I have ps1, ps2, ps3, and ps4 games on disk that I would love to be able to play on my PS5. I Dont understand how Xbox can make a legacy system but Sony can't. Disk support is super important to as I've already purchased many of these games already and do not want to repurchase it, unless, I can use the disk for the license.

Personally, backward compatibility is very important to me as otherwise I'd have no (legal) way to play the older LittleBigPlanet titles alongside other physical PS3 copies of older games I use to play as a kid. I understand in the modern age not everyone values these older games and much prefer sticking to the newest, but it's important for preservation and those who do that these games can always have a modernized "home" to exist in one way or another.
I didn't buy many digital games on the ps3, the majority of games I have are on discord. Every cod from 4-bo2, the only bleach console game, db raging blast 2, so many classics I can't even name them all.

i have 19 or more ps3 game disks some tho won't hold up without support from Activision & Mojang! Mind you many gamers paid full price back then. collecting games turned into a burden! I’m not really a big PlayStation guy, but I’ve always wanted to play MGS4. (My PC isn’t good enough, and I doubt steam deck could run it properly). If they added ps3 disc support I’d 100% go hunt down a copy.
I was always angered that Sony didn't try harder to make the PS5 backwards compatibile with PS3 discs. At the same time, I don't doubt the explanation they gave about hardware incompatibility. That's why I held off on buying a PS5. To their, they made it PS4 compatible.
I would be happy if Sony does PS4 back compat! Love to play MGS4 without having to dustoff my old PS3 system!

Its amazing, people have been able to get PS3 emulation running on PC... which runs pretty much the entire PS3 library.... yet these devs who get paid and work for a billion dollar company cant even get emulation working lol....

Haven't played a emulated game on the ps5 that did not really suck to play. The graphics are like you need new glasses out of focus or you need your eyes checked. The tombraider game throughout all my saved games never to be found again.etc... the idea of backwards compatibility is great possibilities endless but not how it I right now

I don't know why infamous wasn't re-released it for the 10th anniversary of the game the 1st game was 9/10 and they could of re-released it onto ps4 along with 1st, 2nd game even the dlc's.
