Oh no😮😮 you poor thing!! I’m a kiwi (New Zealand) and Australian fish n chips would have to be the worst I’ve ever eaten!! And I’m a BIG fish n chip fan… I’ve lived in Australia for 27yrs the first 21yrs were in NZ where they have the best fish n chips on planet 🌍 earth, the other 21yrs were pretty even… Here in Australia the fish n chips can go from 20% to 70% in 3 doors!!
One thing that annoys me about Aussie Fish n Chip takeaways is that there are a lot of them that requires you to ask for “Battered” Fish because if you don’t, you’ll get crumbed. Like WTF Australia, your default Fish at a Fish n Chip shop should always be battered.
I've only just discovered your channel, so I've yet to work out just how long you've been in Australia for now. You are reasonably lucky that you've landed in one of the nicer spots in Australia, but not the best -give Maroochydore a look see. As an archaeologist I've had the luxury of travelling of fair bit of Australia all up and down the east coast and much of the West Coast and a fair bit of inland as well. So I can tell you at length the nicest places to go, but I won't do that here now. To put it simply, I will tell you is there is such a thing as the tropic of Capricorn which crosses Australia from east west and back again and it's pretty much a delineating line which separates the nicer areas of Australia from the less so. South of the tropic of Line you will find that the coastal areas are more rocky and precipitous meaning cliff like. Where as north of the Capricorn Line the coastlines are more procumbent - meaning they extend out in long muddy flats with less sand, more stingers and crocodiles. So south of the Capricorn line you exchange the crocodiles and stingers for sharks, huge currents and colder water. But the headlands and bays of the south make for beautiful views and coastlines to build upon. Whereas further north you have your long uninterrupted beaches, which unfortunately you can't swim at because of the stingers and crocs. So you pick your evils, or your pleasures - namely: warmth and heat to the north, and stunning views and better lifestyle to the south. If you want to know more, get back to me here. Welcome to Australia. Oh, P.S. you have to get rid of those bloody accents. I have to continually turn the captions on and off to understand what you're saying. Make sure you pick up an Aussie accent as quickly as possible. 🤣🤣🤣
@@gbsailing9436Thank you so much for commenting and watching our adventures. We’ve been here just a month, so lots more adventures to come and hopefully less of an accent as it’s not the nicest is it 😅 Thank you for your information, super informative and good to know 🙏
@@EatVentureVlog nah that's Ok. I apologise about your accents. Look for a couple of other posts on you videos I've made. I think you need to wind back. How often you're doing your blogs because if you do want every day you're going to run out of content. Especially if you live in the same area all the time there's only so much you can do in one place and you're gonna have to start travelling to further and further away to create more content. I'd suggest going down to one a week. I'm currently off work and I watch a fair bit of RUclips and I've noticed a lot of people burn out in 12 months if they try and do two or more a week. You'll notice Jetstar has Sales for flights on a Friday afternoon. So you should be able to pick up cheap tickets back to Sydney or Melbourne from Brisbane. So if you get down to Sydney, I'd be happy to take you guys around and show you some of the best spots, but I'd book 4 days maybe three nights flying in early. I can pick you up at the airport and then leave late. Say on Monday afternoon or evening. That way you can maximise your time in Sydney and still pick up the cheaper flights which are not on the Saturday and Sunday. See how you go.

@@EatVentureVlog yep. Mate, it's hit and miss, mostly miss these days. It's rather difficult to find good flake. I'll say Switchback Road, Chirnside Park, Victoria for those that may be looking. But the best piece of flake I've had in the last 5 years or more was from Heathcote! Who would have thought? Pretty far inland, so that whole thing is a myth. Best flake (sorry, generic marketing buzz word) was the one I caught. 1m gummy, hit the breakfast table at around 6AM (caught on the beach across the road in the wee hours of the morning), inch and a half thick... delicacy. There's a certain flavour to good flake, I can't quite put my finger on it, it's a subtle thing. Is it umami?? Someone please try to explain it if you know what I'm talking about. Yeah old style fish n chips do vinegar but you want a pickled onion too
Even worse, I fancied a pickled egg that day 😅
Enjoyed the vlog. In qld summertime highly recommend spanish or spotted mackerel. It is beautiful white fleshy fish. No fishy taste at all. Actually sweet. Best eating fish imo. Completely different to your mackerel in UK. Cheers👍
Thanks for the tips! I'll be sure to give them a try
As an Aussie I love to holiday at Noosa Heads but have friends that live in Yaroomba that's quite nice too.
@@AndrewBellsWorld Noosa is beautiful, and we love Coolum!
Good luck with your new channel.
Btw, don't know if you're aware, but the IG and TikTok links didn't lead to any live accounts.
Thank you so much! You are a legend for pointing this out, I've gone and amended it now, I would of missed this without your comment, you're comment has save me a lot of headache 😅👍
@@EatVentureVlog happy to help. However, just had a look again, from the links here in the video description, and on the channel description, TikTok is showing 'couldn't find this account', and IG is showing 'sorry this page isn't available'.
Knife and fork with fish n chips is like drinking milk with a fork. You don't do that in Australia unless you're in a restaurant. 😂
Since uploading we have been informed. In the UK knife and fork are very common to use😅
@@EatVentureVlog I grew up in the UK. I never saw anyone ever eat f&cs with a knife and fork. You've all gone soft in the last 35 years apparently 😂

If you go down to the Gold Coast Currumbin has a great dog beach.
I'm Aussie but new Zealand South island blue cod with chips is easily the best anywhere on this planet.
@@mickzammit6794 we’ll try that if we get chance 🙏
I put mustard on my chips. Most places don't offer it, but I have found a couple of places here in Tasmania. We also have malt vinegar.
@@dawnradel9008 that actually sounds like something we need to try!
@@EatVentureVlog I prefer mild mustard, but if you like it a bit more spicy, that's good too.

Tomato sauce for the chips, and yes we do vinegar, well I do :) Down south in Victoria the more popular fish are flake (gummy shark) flathead, Snapper. We also call those Potato Cakes which is the correct term :)
@@69firthy everyone loves tomato sauce here, we love that! 🙌
You want real fish and chips come to Salamanca wharf in Hobart Tasmania. The fish is fresh caught that morning from the southern ocean and on your plate crumbed by lunch . Blue eye trevalla is A1
Try Hervey Bay and K'gari( Fraser Island, Fish and chips from Maddigans is the best. Very moreish,
You are meant to swim between the flag's. They are there to keep you safe
I thought I did swim between the flags where I went in? I've been told to not swim outside of them, thank you for your concern too 👍
My dog HATES turkeys as well. He completely ignores other birds, so I put it down to the fact that turkeys tend to run rather than fly and he finds that strange. I'd love to see his reaction to an emu. As for a cassowary....
Oh gosh yes ours wouldn’t be as confident 😅😂
17.14, Laughing at the idea of using a knife and fork to eat fish and chips.
It's a habit from the UK, chippy's usually cover their meals in gravy or curry sauce. We do it the Aussie way next time 😅
Oh no😮😮 you poor thing!!
If you want the salmon you should be able to get it grilled with salad.
One thing that annoys me about Aussie Fish n Chip takeaways is that there are a lot of them that requires you to ask for “Battered” Fish because if you don’t, you’ll get crumbed. Like WTF Australia, your default Fish at a Fish n Chip shop should always be battered.
Oh chippy ripped yous off haha no chicken salt is like a insult almost .it should be illegal to not serve chicken salt
Think he heard the accent and thought we might freak out if our chips had flavour, not used to flavour in the UK 😅
Must have chicken salt on the chips!
@@peterhoz it’s a staple here isn’t it! 😍
We’ve been here just a month, so lots more adventures to come and hopefully less of an accent as it’s not the nicest is it 😅
Thank you for your information, super informative and good to know 🙏
@@EatVentureVlog nah that's Ok.
Trout mate reef trout crumbed
I have to give this a try, been recommended a lot now, thank you! 👍
ulludulla harbour best fish n chips.....and if you're out Goulburn way, the Grabben Gullen Pub thursday to sunday beautiful fish n chips i kid you not
They're all great fish, but as far as I'm concerned, gummy and school shark are the experience to be had. Like anything though, it has to be fresh and treated well. I mean with the filleting etc.
It’s got to be the right place, be sounds like something we must try!
Don't get me wrong though, smaller Port Phillip Bay flatties freshly caught and whiting, absolute delicacies too. There's a pattern emerging here.
Sorry for the long over.
Next time get crumbed fish. It's much better than batter
