My wiper blade was a slide type lock instead of a pop off. 2015 model. This broke the wiper arm locking piece for the blade, which means a simple blade replacement became an entire wiper arm replacement. Thanks for the detailed video.
thank you for this video. I was trying to change out my wiper blade the other day and pulled dang arm off. I ordered a replacement arm and the puller tool. Now I know how to do it! Appreciate it!
@@EverythingInBetween22 I had to watch your video again. I finally got around to getting all the right parts and everything and swapped it out today. I have a 2020 Explorer but same exact thing. I had to get some extra force to spin the terminal part in but it finally popped off and swapped it. Thanks again! Your video was definitely helpful. Now I have to get a wiper blade that will stay in my new arm. HA it's always something right?
@@toddthebod22 Nice! That's awesome, bud! Really glad you got it swapped out. I'm excited for ya. And yes, always something... one thing after another, it seems LOL.
If its been on there for years, there will most likely be oxidation buildup and it will be difficult to remove without a puller tool or similar. May not be impossible but less likely to damage the motor mechanism on the other side of the glass if using a puller tool. If you don't want or can't get a puller tool, you can spray lubricants like WD40, Liquid wrench, PB blaster, etc... and let it soak a minute or two and hopefully that'll loosen it. Be careful!
Whats the tool called? The plastic that housed the metal ring crumbled when i took it off, it left just a metal ring on the bolt. Do you think this tool will still work?
It's a puller tool. Not sure if it has a specific name but link is in the description and fairly cheap. I would think that it would still work, since the grabber part will grab onto the metal piece and the center piece of the tool will push the bolt through it. Worth a try if you ask me.
I believe it's a Duralast. It's my son's digital torque wrench, but the link is in the description that goes straight to it. The last link at bottom.... and thanks! Hope it helped you.
Have you had to replace your rear wiper arm? Was it easy and did it go as planned? If this helped you out, let us know in the comments!
