Heartfelt sympathy and compassion for the loss of your amazing dad. My mom taught me to knit and after she, my dad, and 2 sisters all passed away (within a 7 months time period) I read that knitting is great therapy for grieving people. I took it up again and haven’t stopped since. Many blessings to you. 💗🙏🏻👼🏻✝️
Oh, goodness! What a terrible loss, and I'm so sorry that you experienced that in such a short period of time. My condolences. Thank you for the kind words, and I'm glad you, too, have found solace in your knitting. Take care.
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely memory of your father. Being able to hold on to it through your design is very special. Hugs sweet friend!! 🤗🧶💕🧶🤗

My sympathies to the loss of your father. You have found a beautiful way to remember him. I bet you were daddy's girl. I will knit this shawl for sure.
You are so beautiful and your dad a very handsome man. Beautiful memories and a beautiful shawl! Such as life since sin came into this world, death happens! Keep up the beautiful work! Knitting is a therapy! It's one of the best things ever happened to me! God bless you mightily, as a chosen people of God (Jewish) I pray blessings over you and yours!

My lovely beautiful friend. Sorry, for your Dad loss. I want to give you a big hug He will be with you... always. I love this beautiful shawl!! Thanks!!
You bring me such joy and peace everytime I see you. I love your honesty. I was moved by your openness of your loss. my grandfather was my father and I miss him everyday. I knit for the ones I love and I agree, I do it for the connection. I cannot wait to knot this scarf and remember my happy moments. Thank you for sharing.
My world of security, serenity, love and being truly known went away when my dad passed on. Like you, I remember and cherish his essence every day. I thank God for giving me a winner of a dad. Same as your dad.
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, they hold a very special place in our hearts. I will definitely give this pattern a try knowing how special it is!
Chandi thank you so much for sharing, I had to fight back the tears as my dad is in the last stages of Parkinson’s disease and will not be with us much longer. I will be making this scarf in honor of my father and all fathers who are special to their daughters. God bless and Knit On!
I felt your heart in your beautiful memory in that one day with your dad... I too lost my dad a few years ago, and in memory of him, I vow to make this shawl.
So sorry for the loss of your dad but happy your dad let you know he loved and treasured you. My dad didn't like his kids so I made sure to marry someone who is crazy about his kids. And thanks for the knitting lesson--I'm in my 60s so hopefully can still learn it. Crocheting is easier, you only have one needle not to drop!
Thank you Cindy! And I'm so sorry to hear that about your dad but it seems like you found a great partner. I'm glad you're enjoying our tutorials. Good luck on your knitting adventure. 💕
My heart went out to you. I think it’s wonderful that you are sharing your feelings and also helping others to not give up and to do something constructive with their hands. Warm hugs to you.

I lived in Glennallen AK! We did getnto Juneau and it was beautiful. I love the memories you have that go into your patterns. I knit as it is a memory of my mother (as I work on her bedspread begun in 1958). I did a project "with" her as I finished the Afghan she was making for me in 1990 when she died. It has her love in it and my love for her as well.

Querida Chandi, no sé inglés pero escuché tu voz y sentí tu tristeza salieron lagrimas de mis ojos. Siempre estará vivo en tu corazón! Un abrazo desde Lima Perú.
My father-in-Law passed from Brain Cancer over Covid; He loved to fish and I think I am finally ready to make one of these for my MIL and all the other women who takes the time to remember him.
Im so sorry..I know these kind of feelings. I lost my Dad 7 years ago and everyday something takes me to him..in my case its the music! Your tears remember me myself Last sunday listening suddenly one particular song...Thanks a lot for your sincere beatiful and sweet Words!!!!! And your beatiful pattern ! Thanks thanks thanks!!
Chandi I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. What will keep you going is never forgetting those memories, no matter how hard it is, now that he is not here. It's been 32 years come August that I lost my father and today I still feel him near me. This pattern is so beautiful, stay strong and keep knitting and crocheting. ❤
I loved listening to your story. It was was a delight. I don't have the same beautiful memories in the past with my crafts, but I hope to start that with my daughters in law (as I love them as my own) and my grandchildren. I'm a new follower, as I started knitting when pregnant with my oldest son, and crocheting about a year and a half ago. Those crafts have saved me from depression and helped me to find something I can dedicate myself to that I love, for me and my loved ones. It's a peaceful activity that gives me joy. Thank you so much for your beautiful channel and gorgeous patterns.
Chandi - tears in my eyes and heart for you. You are so blessed to have had a dad that loved you and wanted to spend time with you. Every time I see a story like yours it makes my heart happy . I wish my childhood had been more like yours and many others . You are a precious soul and I am sure having that loving daddy is grafted in you . Thank you for being real. You are a gift. Thank you.
So sorry for the loss of your father. What a beautiful way to keep your fond memories of him alive. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful shawl pattern.
My love, no words can heal the pain you feel…I just lost someone this week so dear to my heart too…my best friend was killed in a hit and run…my deepest sympathies to you and to your family…May GOD strengthen you all during this painful loss… 🙏
Chandi, you are so sweet and beautiful. I love what you do and your wonderful on-line shop is heaven for me. When you cried I don't know how anyone could hold back the tears. What a wonderful way to remember that fishing day with your dad. Thank you so much for your wonderful patterns and fibers. Because of you, I will forever be busy crocheting and knitting away. God bless you Dear!! Cecilia
I’m so sorry about the loss of your Dad. My Mom encouraged me to crochet,so my first big project was a colorful granny square with black as the main color and whatever I had in the rest (I was about 12, my yarn budget wasn’t what it is now). My Mom passed 20 years ago, but I still think of her (and say a quiet “thank you” to her) every time I begin a new project.
Chandi, My heart and tears goes out to you. I lost both of my parents. My dad in 2008 and I have memories of him taking me fishing at the resort up north in Wisconsin that I grew up going every year with my parents. My mom died 2016 and she taught me how to knit. I will have to get that shawl pattern and making one for myself with the memories of both of them. I miss them dearly and I often feel their presence whenever I think of them or a special event occurs in my life. Thank you for sharing your story of your dad and sorry for your loss. Sending big hugs to you! :)
So sorry for your loss Chandi. This brought tears to my eyes. I lost both my mom and my only brother in 2013 and 2014. Just me and my dad now. I swear part of my soul left when my mom passed, but I just try to hold on to the good memories.
You are THE MOST amazzzizng person I have discovered in the past two years. You can bring a smile to any face- and do it without any effort at all... and you brought tears to my eyes- even though I am blessed to still have my parents live with me. Though I am -each day- looking at dwib=ndling life force. You are never never prepared. Stay blessed. Always. Beautiful soul.
I wasn’t a subscriber but I have seen a few of your videos and your videos, patterns and you are always lovely and classy and sweet. I’m sorry for your loss. Take care.
I enjoyed your beginning commentary. I started knitting in fifth grade by a 4H instructor of whom I admired and still do. I learn neared to crochet from my grandma Genny. Also In 2017 my awesome daughter arranged a trip for us to Alaska,,and we visited. Your Junoe inorder to see the wales.of which we did.. I also can identify with you fond comments.of your dad. I also have fond.memories of friends and relatives.
I am so sorry Chandi! I lost my father in 2007 and he was only 57, and my mom passed in 2016 and she was 66. You truly don’t know how precious life is until you lose a loved one. Both extremely young, vibrant and healthy until my dad got diagnosed with stage 4 bone/lung cancer and my mom got diagnosed with GBM ( short for Glioblastoma, a deadly cancer of the brain). I am only 47 and feel robbed of memories of what could have been. Anyway, this isn’t about me, so I send you and your family a big heartfelt hug! The pain never goes away… it just becomes a little easier to talk about and tolerate as time goes by. What a gorgeous pattern and idea. I am going to knit one in colors of a New England autumn because they loved that time of year, especially here.
What a lovely story. I was crying. I started crocheting because I lost my niece at. 16 tomorrow she will be gone 9 years😢 one day I will learn to knit.
Oh my goodness, is that a Boston Terrior? Growing up we always had Boston's. The last one we had passed a few months after my Dad. Her little heart was just as broken as ours. I'm soo sorry for your loss. Please believe me when I say he is always with you. Thank you so much for sharing this story. Hugs!!
My heart, love and warm hugs to you and all your loved ones. I appreciate you and all that you do. While you create memories you help me create a serene mind and for that I will always be grateful. Many blessings and thanks for sharing such an intimate part of your life. Xoxoxo NYC
Sorry for your loss for your dad, the pattern is so lovely and beautiful. Its such a beautiful project in the memory for your dad, it reminds me when I got my tattoos done in the memory for my papa and gran. Take care, stay safe and thoughts and prayers for you and the family
Dearest Chandi, I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad, he had a wonderfully kind face. Thank you as always for your generosity in sharing another pattern and what a beautiful tribute to your father. I will knit this lovely pattern also in tribute to my great aunt Ivy, who taught me to knit many years ago, I will chose a shade of bluebell as I have wonderful memories of picking bluebells for my teacher on our walks and then we would go home, make a warm drink and knit by the fire until we couldn't hold our eyes open any longer. I can cuddle up in my new shawl of bluebells, with a warm drink and smile to myself as I remember those happy days. You are such an inspiration. Thank you again. 🦋💙
When my Mother's sister died, I inherited all her wool, patterns and needles. I Came across a pair of needles with the rib knitted and a number of rows in a pattern. I thought that If I could find the pattern I would complete whatever she had started. There was about 40 years of patterns to go through, some only cost old pennies. I got lucky and managed to complete a jumper which I wear with pride. And remember the lady who taught me to knit and crochet.
Chandi, I understand how your knitting reminds you of your father. My dad taught me how to crochet. It's how his family recycled worn shirts and printed feed sacks during the Depression into useful items like rugs. His mom was also a prolific knitter and taught us grandkids to knit. Whenever I visited her house in Kansas, there were bowls of yarn, and hooks, and needles my cousins and I would dive into just to keep our hands busy or to be taught something new. Gran gave all her children and grandchildren the most "unique" 🤭 slippers for Christmas each year, and I still have a couple pairs some 50+ years later. I deeply appreciate having yarn crafts in my DNA and treasure memories like you do with your father out on a boat. Here's to the fathers who lovingly passed on their skills to their daughters....and sons! 💕 🥰 P.S. We also had a huge stocked fish pond at home, so I learned how to catch Rainbow Trout! 🎣
Sweet one - you touched me deeply and brought tears to my eyes thinking about my beloved father. You are so correct in saying that knitting connects us to others. Thank you for sharing this.

That's very sweet of you, Lisa! 🥰
Beautiful memories in a beautiful wrap. Hugs to you, Chandi! ❤️
Thank you so much! ❤️

Such a touching story! Beautiful shawl! Thanks for sharing with us Chandi.
You're welcome! 💕
What a lovely memory of your mother, and I'm so glad you can honor her with every new project. ❤️
Thank you sharing and your kind words. Please share your shawl when it's done. Seeing would make me so happy! 🥰
Una hermosa manera de hacer honor a la memoria de tu padre, un abrazo en la distancia gracias por compartir tan lindos tejidos 🧶

So sorry for your loss Chandi. This brought tears to my eyes. I lost both my mom and my only brother in 2013 and 2014. Just me and my dad now. I swear part of my soul left when my mom passed, but I just try to hold on to the good memories.
I'm so very sorry for your loss, too, and hope you hang onto all of your fond memories. Take care. ❤️❤️❤️

I also have fond.memories of friends and relatives.
🥰🥰🥰
Memories! Just want to knit it because of your story behind it.
🥰🥰🥰
I'm so very sorry for your loss, too, and hope you have many fond memories of both of them. Sending you big hugs! ❤️

Hugs!!

Sorry for your loss for your dad, the pattern is so lovely and beautiful. Its such a beautiful project in the memory for your dad, it reminds me when I got my tattoos done in the memory for my papa and gran.
Take care, stay safe and thoughts and prayers for you and the family
Thank you, Hayley! 💙
Your more than welcome 💙
Thank you. I'm so happy this shawl brings back fond memories of someone very special for you, too! ❤️
💕
I do love your designs. Sending hugs your way...so sorry for your loss, you made me tear, your dad is always with you ❤
Thanks 🥰
Nice episode…..heartwarming!
Thank you!
P.S. We also had a huge stocked fish pond at home, so I learned how to catch Rainbow Trout! 🎣
Thank you for sharing you memory with us! 💕
Sweet one - you touched me deeply and brought tears to my eyes thinking about my beloved father. You are so correct in saying that knitting connects us to others. Thank you for sharing this.
❤️
