We have to be careful with taking the “principle” away from the explicit command. Yes, there are times and places when we must understand the principle applies in a different context. But we can’t do that with everything.

So many feminists confuse the difficulty of past TECHNOLOGY with oppression by their ROLE. They point to the 16 hour day of the agricultural wife. Yet they fail to mention the 18 hour day of the ag husband. EVERYBODY died at 35 back then. Not because the role was oppressive, but because farm life was so difficult. Of course June Cleaver looks a bit backwards. She was working with 1950 technology. But as a ROLE model, she was excellent.
Looks like the Southern Baptists finally fell victim to Entryism. Either embrace the biblical idea of patriarchy or not. There is no middle ground. Given the bible is inescapably patriarchal we should no longer apologize or try to please the world. Embracing Gods design for the family and for society is the way to go.

God told both Adam and Eve directly to take dominion of the world. He was the lead and she the helper in this dominion taking. Some churches (and this is what they are talking about) think the men take dominion while the ladies do all the menial brainless tasks so the men can do the important stuff. But God tells both men and women to take dominion.

Technology certainly made a difference. If one reads the philosophers and theologians they will know technology was not the only reason.
