    If you trust your jollof is very good you don’t need stew to eat with it, Jollof goes by it self, all you just need is a push with any soda or juice 😋

    I'm Jamaican but I absolutely LOVE jollof rice (I had Nigerian), despite only having it once. It's funny, I was talking to my Nigerian friend and she prefers rice and peas but I prefer Jollof for a rice dish. Shout out to my West African brothers and sisters and I can't wait to try it from other countries!

    It is so amazing that the Gullah-Geechee Americans still make a version of Jollof rice but we call it Red Rice. This dish is something special that is shared between Southern Black Americans and West Africans. I almost want to cry.

    This was excellent!!!!! The right person won. But, what I loved most is that All Four of Them were constructive in their criticisms, really good in their praise of the dishes, and no one was trying to be a jerk cutting down the others to lift themselves up.     This was a good video; everyone was very respectful. As a Nigerian I think the reason the Senegalese and Siera Leonian Jollof did poorly is because we Nigerians want our food and especially jollof to hit hard when it comes to flavor, we love big bold flavors, so the more reserved style of Senegalese and Sierra Leonian jollof are fundamentally incompatible with our palates assuming that the Sierra Leonian and Senegalese women made jollof that was representative of the jollof of those countries. respect to everyone who participated though.

      As a Sierra Leonean, your point is actually pretty accurate. Nigerian jollof has that really strong smoke flavour to it and it can even be seen as the main part of the dish. Whereas I feel in a lot of Sierra Leonean cuisine our food focuses on plasas/stew and rice. Overall all tho all taste nice just diff pallets

    It was recently that I discovered that what my grandmother used to make and call red rice (she was from the US south) is actually a version of jollof. It must be a west African dish that made it (at least a version of it) to the US south during slavery. I was watching a YT video of someone making jollof and was like wait a minute that’s ‘red rice’ lol.

    As a Senegalese it’s always so funny to me that we are never invited/ featured when the UNESCO recognized the dish as Senegalese.

      Ibr I've had Senegalese jollof and while it is nice it barely tastes like the same dish as Ghanaian/Naija jollof. The technique may be similar but the spices and flavour are completely different

      Yes crazy ! The way Senegalese prepare it, can't be equalled let alone bettered. They are the owners and masters of Jollof rice. Only Nigerians think they do it b4etter but if you ask someone from another country they will always say Senegal.

      @@aminarassoul respect to the Senagalese tho, but Nigeria and Ghana made it popular to the world, and the feud between the two countries about whose is better even made it more popular, that doesn't mean Senegalese jollof isn't rated, it's not just popular. I'd like to try it one day tho.

    Good job Nigeria 🇳🇬🇳🇬❤️ I remember the first time I tried Nigerian jollof, I was hooked. Seems like Nigeria is just better at everything. Music, food, entertainment. I’ve never seen other African movies on Netflix. Just Nigerian. Nigerian afrobeat is worldwide now and they’re the only ones with artists on the charts, even the Nigerian fufu and egusi has been trending.

It's very obvious sia and temi underscored ruth this happens all the time in these types of competitions when they come across food that they know could potentially win they underscore

    I'm Australian. I've only tried Nigerian jollof rice. I thought jollof rice is a Nigerian dish? I didn't know many versions of jollof rice from various African countries. Looking forward to trying them!
