  • Using Maya to make something practical with a 3D printer. Not very artistic but it's a good way to introduce Maya to this channel.

    Hey man, not sure if you're still doing videos (I see your channel hasn't been updated in a while) but I do hope you continue this series. I am also a Maya user and I am just starting to get into the 3d printing side of things. I love your approach to this video and would love to see more.

    I have been looking everywhere online to make holes that are the shape of another object, and this taught me it simply! THANK YOU

      You're welcome. I've been thinking about getting this channel going again. You might have inspired me to do so.

    Glad to see it’s so easy! I was worried I’d have to take special care with the topology like edgeflow and polygon density for 3D printing, but it looks like that’s not really the case

    Still mudway through the video, so if its mentioned, but you can check what your smoothed model would look like by using the "3" key. The 1 key is unsmoothed and the 3 key is a smoothed preview. :)

    Why do you delete history so often? You know you can you press 3 and it will smooth automatically for previz right? Why are you using booleans? People dont use booleans anymore is not good practice. It can corrupt data. Bro good in the export.. But there sre problems with the modeling 😅

    • @shereefu9589

      I think for the purpose of 3D printing boolean is the easiest way (time saving) it will make trouble only if you are applying material on it with uv mapping , here in 3D printing he just need a shape to print so he picked the easiest way.... :)

    • @shereefu9589
      @shereefu9589 3 года назад

      by pressing 3 you can only preview the object in smooth inside the Maya, he want the object to export for that he have to apply a smooth modifier....:)
