This man deserves a medal for how thorough he was
Was so afraid to take apart my controller but your guide made this a cakewalk! Only took me an hour! Controller back button kit works like a charm. Thank You!
Great news 😁 I think you hold the record for the fastest time so far, normally takes people double that time. If you done it again you might even half you're time 👍
Wow, what a wonderfully done installation guide! I really enjoy ed and subbed though i haven't received mine yet... Cant wait to rewatch and follow along. 😅 Keep up the awesome work! 💙
Thanks man 😎 I turned notifications off for subs so I never know who's subbed as long as I'm helping people that's all good to me 😁
Holy crap this was very very helpful video. The way he explained everything was on point great video my guy. You just saved the PS community.
Thanks for the kind words, glad I've explained everything well. I'm always going in depth on my videos, you want to watch one of my car videos on the channel, I never shut up and literally explain everything 😄
You gave the most CLEAR tutorial out there on RUclips! I’ve followed your steps and it works like a charm. Thank you so much!
Always great news to hear when somebody's kit install went smoothly, few people these past days have had issues not putting the ribbons in, but second or third try they've done it 😁 hope you have fun with the kit 👍
What a clean, straight to the point and informative tutorial video. Well done 👏
Thanks man, always nice to hear kind words from somebody.
I've actually just dropped the 4 button kit video last night 😁
Mine doesn’t work in game but works in menu how do I fix
Fair play, really easy to follow instruction guide and you cover everything needed. Awesome work.
Thanks man, always hear to hear kind words 😁
Just want to add my advice on this. Just after you snap in those two buttons to the new back plate of the controller, don't worry that your buttons aren't making that satisfying "click" feel just yet. That will specifically happen after you screw in the little micro board on top.
I remember panicking just after fastening those buttons as they weren't clicking and I immediately wondered where I went wrong. Turns out I was jumping the gun a little!
legend
Took almost 2 hours but i did it on the first try, thank you so much man your guide was really helpful, at first it wouldn't work so i restarted my ps5 and it worked thanks so much
If you ever did it again for say a friend or yourself I bet you'd do it in half that time know you know how it all goes together and stuff.
Lately people have been putting the ribbon cable the wrong way around, that's been the only issue, but glad yours worked with just a restart 😁
THANK YOU! I already commented under your video guide for both Controller models and you did an awsome job on this kit!
Does your touch pad still work
@@RECKYPOOO yeah the Touch pad does work perfectly fine. Only thing is i cant remap the touch pad button to the back buttons because i didnt want to solder…
Thanks Matteo hope you enjoy the kit 😁
I had issues with getting the controller to work and messaged Craig about it. He took the time to guide me through steps to get it up and running and I can’t be more thankful and happy about the result! Thanks again
My controller isn’t turning on and I double checked the battery what was ur issue??
It was the L1/L2 ribbon cable as far as I can remember, that's 99% of the time the problem when people can't get their pad to work.
If you check the L1/L2 ribbon, just see if it's in the right way as it's so easy to put it in wrong
@@CraigsChannel yeah that what I’m having trouble with now I can use L1 L2
Can’t use L1 L2
Just put the put wire back in that come with the original controller kept the right side in and it’s all working fine you just don’t need to fit the L1 L2 ribbon
You are the best man, I tried 2 other videos before I found yours and was getting frustrated and nervous about ruining my controller and now I got one that’s fully operational!
You should have came here sooner 😄 awesome news to hear you've got it all working. I've not uploaded any videos on controller mods for a while... since I made this one they've added a new version BDM-030, I've been trying to find one but no luck yet
Cheers mate, great instructions, first time I went through it wouldnt turn on, so I checked the battery which seemed to be connected fine. I took out all the new cables and stuff and plugged in the original ps5 ones and it worked. So I re followed the instructions and then it worked with the new paddles, guessing it was a loose connection. User error though, instructions were great! If it had worked first time it would have been like 45 minutes but it took me nearly 1hr 15 as I had to do it a second time.
1hr 15mins is still good going, I remember once somebody said it took them 5hrs lol.
Lately people have been putting the ribbons cables in the wrong way, like you say just an error but easily fixed
Thanks very much Craig. There's a 99% chance if I had followed any other guide, I'd just be sitting with an expensive paperweight after 1 hour! Your advice on what to look out for as you go along makes a huge difference. Liked and subbed, my friend.
I'm sure you'd have been fine no matter which video you watched. People watch these videos and think they're harder than they look, but the main thing is giving it a go.
Luckily out of all the views I've had there's only been a few people who've needed a little extra help, which I've managed to fix so all good.
Thanks for the kind words David appreciate it 😁
@@CraigsChannel Ah yes, I noticed someone from the comments had mentioned your 1-to-1 after-help comms which made their year! I think it was after I read that one, I knew I had lucked upon someone hugely decent and was worth giving a go.
I'm from the build-it-yourself hardware era of childhoods (you know, pc's and so on) - sounds like you are too. It's been countless years since I was hands on, even with something on the simpler end of the spectrum. So, as I'm sure you can see from all the comments, it was massively satisfying to tear something apart and re-build it in your image (without trying to sound biblical, LOL). And the best part is not spending 4x the price on a SCUF! So thanks buddy! ❤️.
I'm always helping people, I really enjoy helping people out if they get stuck.
Yup I've always taken stuff apart and put it back together. I took my Dyson hoover one Saturday apart just to clean when I was bored 😄
Scuf controllers are good, but they break really quick and you only get 6 months, plus like you say super expensive.
You doing any more mods on your controller?
@@CraigsChannel Sorry for the late response buddy. You sound like an actual selfless person. Good on you. It's a rare trait in a person 👌🏽. I would love to mod this controller further if I'm honest. Pimping it up like pimp my ride would be fun!
I've always enjoyed helping people out, guess it's just how I am 😁
Well the two mods I always recommend is the back buttons and digital triggers, I'd only recommend the triggers if you only play FPS games or have another controller for say racing games.
I get asked all the time if I prefer the 2 button or 4, 4 just seems to many buttons to me, I've tried but can't get used to them... this kit you've got with the 2 is perfect got 99% of people
I'm awful at this type of stuff. but i got it done in under an hour with this guide. Thank you so much. I thought this was going to be impossible.
Your clearly aren't awful at it 😎 clearly a skilled man 👍
One hour is really good going for your first time, I remember reading one comment and somebody said it took them 5 hours 🙈
If you play CoD or FPS games you should also check my digital triggers videos out, they go perfect with the back button kit
@@CraigsChannel It was my first time trying something like this so definitely not amazing. I'lldefinitely check out your video!
I'm rating you a 10/10 my friend, you did it in good time and got it all working 👍
I've plenty others, ever get stuck or need advice I'm always here
Awesome video! Just followed it step by step and now I have brand spanking new back buttons on my dualsense 👍🏻 my son even got me to get him one with some of his Xmas money too.
Not sure if you've seen my latest video but they've just released the 4 button kit personally I think the 2 is more than enough though
Now that is how you do a tutorial video. Well done. Much appreciated!
this was incredibly helpful, I was so scared to do anything once it was open 😆 but you got me through it. Thanks
Loads of people say that 😄 I'm glad you're one of the ones who put confidence in yourself and managed to do it, some people just won't even try it 😫
Got my paddles today this was the best video and easiest instructions to follow . Just earned you a subscriber and like 👍🏼Thanks
Thanks man appreciate it, guessing you got this kit with the 2 paddles? Theyve brought the 4 button kit out since I made this video, but I feel 4 is to many buttons, I only really need to for CoD
Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial!!! Just installed these exact ones on my controller and they work perfectly!!! Earned another subscriber 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks man, helps towards that 20k milestone I've been aiming for 😁
For anyone having issues remapping and getting the quick red flash when you hold the back button for 5 seconds, double check 9:22 on the video and make sure you are putting the connector over the top of the clear plastic piece! I made the mistake of putting it behind and then covering with the plastic piece. Completely fixed my remapping issue and is working perfectly now!
I have to ask, do the back buttons have any sort of cheating stuff? I really want to use it on COD and Fortnite but I’m scared I’m gonna get banned because I don’t know if there are any cheating services in the control board. (Sorry if my English is bad but it isn’t my native language)
No no cheats, Sony actually sell controllers with back buttons and companys like Scuf
@@CraigsChannel alr thx. Ive had my accounts for over 6 years now and I really don’t wanna lose them so thank you for telling me🙏🏻
The only time you'd get your account banned is if your on PC and use wallhacks or something. Being on console the only thing people can use is a Cronus
This guide is the absolute best! Followed step by step and got it done without a single problem! :D
Always good to hear that 😁 people lately have been putting the ribbon cables the wrong way around and thought they broke their pad
I've been holding off on doing this to my controller but this video helped a ton and was very easy to follow, thank you!
How come you held off? Was it a worry in case something broke? Glad you bit the bullet and did the install 😁
@@CraigsChannel I never modded a controller before and was worried I’d brick it ha
Nah you'd never do that, there isn't much to really go wrong. Once you've done it once you think to yourself "that wasn't so hard" 😄
just got the eXtremerate RISE 2.0 and installed it withen 30mins thanks to this video, thank you for such a straight forward easy installation craig!!
You're more than welcome, thanks for watching my video. To be honest I think you've got the record for the fastest install if you've managed 30mins, I don't think anybodys done it that fast, I remember once somebody said it took them 3 hours!
@@CraigsChannel I’ve took apart these controllers before and put them together for repairs so that was a big help
Ah well that's the answer right there then, you're already a semi pro 😄 glad the install was easy for you, always nice to know I'm helping
Thank you so much! I just finished mine with this video and it works perfectly
Nice 😎 are you doing any more mods like digital triggers or just sticking with the back buttons?
@@CraigsChannel just the back buttons! Also I have a question is there a on and off option for these?
@@k9ushi847 No the only thing you can do is either buy a spare pad or keep your hands off the paddles 😄
Great little kit done in the time it took to watch the video you explained everything perfectly thanks.
That's probably a record then, it usually takes people at least an hour, you've done well. Hope you enjoy the kit 😎
As a 62yr old had no problem in connecting the ribbons and it works😜 thanks for the vid 👍💫
You're a legend Nigel, I think you're possibly the oldest to fit the kit. Great news to hear you managed it all, I've had a few people this past week struggling
Craig thank you so much for your content pal,I've just completed back buttons,(paddles) and digi click triggers and I bought it bricky it at same time, but thanks to you I done it with ease under 3hrs,also fitted new analogue sticks dpad and buttons,so glad I didn't go for another scuff which would of cost me over 300 quid, but done this with new controller for 123 quid,👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome news hearing people have saved money by modding something themselves 😎 sound like your controller is fully modded now
@@CraigsChannel I've just had to renew my l1 l2,but now my control won't work in game or switch on unless it's plugged in,plus won't work in game but will work to navigate home screen any help would be appreciated Craig thank you
Sorry for the late reply. So what exactly have you done with L1 L2?
Installed this for a friend and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks for watching Leo. Have you not got a PlayStation yourself?
I can’t express this enough, thank you
More than welcome thanks for watching 😎
Thank you sir!!! That went pretty smooth.
Always good to hear, a few people have had issues, but they've found out something wasn't plugged in and they've fixed it 😁
Never comment on videos but this vid actually made me buy this and fit it using this video as a guide. Absolute legend
Appreciate you commenting if you never do 😁 glad it's helped you out and hope you enjoy the kit
After this video and wanting paddles, i am ordering mine and following to install. Great tutorial!!!
Did you see I dropped a new video last night? They've finally released the 4 back button kit
dude, bonkers installation guide, just so good!! thank for this, really helped me mate!
More than welcome 👍 next install for you, digital triggers? 😄
Mate can't thank you enough for this video, i'm no good with this kind of stuff and you made it soo easy and simple. Thank you!
Tbh it's not a hard install, I think people watch it and think NOPE 😄
You're one of the brave ones who went for it and did it with ease 😎
More than welcome for the video, thanks for watching it
@@CraigsChannel hey I have mine all together and it works but I can’t get it to remap
@@CraigsChannellike it lights up and when you try to remap it blinks but doesn’t actually work
@@conway6269 have you exited remap mode?
I was a lil worried bout getting this, not tech savvy at all 💀 but my guy you are a fuxking lifesaver, there is no way i could have done this watching the video extreme recommends but you are that guy! Thanks brotha, you are the goat
😄 thanks man, appreciate the kind words. The only downfall with Extremerates videos is they don't speak, they used to ask me to do their videos, but haven't for a while! I'd of been happy to just do some commentary over them fitting the kit
Very clean and easy to follow along video. I was on the fence but since you made this video i went ahead and pulled the trigger
I've made a few on the back buttons kits and the digital triggers. Since this one they've released the RISE4 which has 4 back buttons, but to be honest 2 is enough for me
@@CraigsChannel yes I feel like two back buttons is enough for me too. I don't think I can get used to 4 buttons. My brain can't register that many lol
@@CraigsChannel just finished my install. Thank you!!!!
Thank you Craig. This was very helpful.
More than welcome 👍 not sure if you seen the latest video I did, but they've just released the 4 back button kit now
ur a legend mate thank you so much. ive been looking for a new controller but sites like scuff sell them for a fortune so im definately doing this instead. such a great and clear video
Just make sure you check which version controller you have, since I made this video they've brought a BDM-030 out 👍
Great video man. I have just installed mine today. Everything works perfectly. Thank you.
Always great to hear when somebody's goes to plan 😁 hope you have fun with it, I've just been sent the 4 button kit to do a video on
I just did what you did and everything is working perfectly thank you 🔥🔥
Really good news 😁 seems people have had faulty ribbon cables this week and haven't worked, already great to hear when somebodys works first time 👍
I found one of these in mint condition at one of those Amazon return centers. Gonna try it on a drifting controller I have and worst case scenario I'm not out much. Thanks for the guide!
Thank you so much, this is a fantastic guide and you are awesome!!!
Thanks your watching 😁 everybody is awesome 😎
Hello my dude! Love your videos. Could you please do a full video on how to change the thumbstick tension on a ps5 controller. I love your other videos about the ps5 controller, but no one is covering the tension aspect about the ps5 controller. I am currently in the midst of changing all of the clickables on my ps5 controller thanks to you and extremrate's products. I thought that I would add that as well. Thank you for considering. :)
Hey man, thanks for the kind words it means a lot 😁
When you say video on the tension what do you mean? I don't think there is much you can do with the sticks apart from put different ones on like different colour or ones you can put different heights on
Great tutorial, step by step with no filler 👍🏼
Thanks man, glad it helped you out and wasn't to difficult 😁
man just to say thank you tutorial is amazing step by step ...literally u cant make mistake ...well done
Thanks for the kind words 😁
Some people see the video and they're like NOPE, thinking it'll be to hard. I've had some people get stuck, but I've managed to help them out and get it all working. Once you've done it once, you'll be like a professional the next time you do one
@@CraigsChannel it looks hard but as u explained evrything so well it's hard to make mistake ...I'm happy with this little project let's call it like that ...and it's all about learning and how people send their knowledge...in this case u nailed it
Since I made this video they brought out the 4 back button kit, I've got it installed but to be honest I'm only using two buttons still, 4 is just to many 😄
People ask all the time should I get 2 or 4, I just say what ever you think will work best!
Is it FPS games you're playing or a mixture? If its FPS a good little upgrade is digital triggers I've a couple of videos on them, just means you have like a mouse click when you press L2 and R2
@@CraigsChannel well 2 buttons works for me ...most of the time games use X and O for jump and crouch ...and whoever people ask I think 2 buttons is good .. I had nacon before and again I use just 2 buttons ...and those triggers I have to look into it 4 sure ...I'll check your video tonight
That was very helpful! Thank you!
Always glad I can help people out. Thanks for stopping by
Awesome video! I got it done in 2hrs max, but i got the job done. You just earned yourself a subscriber.
Thanks man, I've had a few people say it took them 1hr 30 - 2hrs, I'm sure you had fun and time flew 😁 if you ever need to fit a kit for a friend I bet you would half that time
Can’t wait to get my new setup and start my journey with new map buttons
Hope you have fun with the kit 😎
This video is just badass ! Thank you helped me a lot man .
Glad it helped you Larry, plenty other videos on the channel if you want to do some more modding 😎
Can’t wait to come back when my stuff comes in thank you!
Is something out of stock you've tried to buy? Or you waiting on delivery of something?
@@CraigsChannel I got the textured back with black metal buttons I just have to wait for it to come in! Seems the regular grip in this video is out of stock right now in black. All good though!
@@WhyTom I had the textured before the newer grip. The smooth touch one isn't good for people with sweaty hands, I've seen a few people say they wished they bought the textured kind. I'm sure you'll be more than happy 😁
@@CraigsChannel good to know thank you 🙂
well instructed and detailed video thank you sm, great work!!
Always nice to have a comment like this, thanks for watching the video 😁
For the rattling button at the bottom, what I did was put some masking tape at the ends of the button where the holes are, pierced through the holes with a needle and cut of the excess tape. Then fitted the button in. No rattle and a solid button fit that feels premium.
Was that the little remap button on the back? They've added a tiny piece of tap to a couple of the kits they sent me, well the metal ones anyways, I put the tape on the remap button to hold it into place
Yeah I had to bail on another tutorial. Came to this one & what a life changer.
Thank you so much your video was easy to follow it was the best Mahalo for the video take care
Thank you for watching Patrick, really appreciate it 😎
Amazing job man. Super detailed 👏👏👏
Thanks dude appreciate the kind words 😁
Great video i just did mine and works perfectly keep up the good work
Thanks man, seems loads people have been ordering these the past couple of weeks as they've started to become more and more popular, not sure if you seen the 4 button kit? I added a video on that the other night
Thanks bro jus got done with mines ur vid was very helpful u jus got urself a new Sub and again thank u and great content bro keep bending Sue over
Easiest setup and well explained thank you.
More than welcome, thank you for picking my video to watch, there's a few out there now 😄
Absolute legend…thanks for the help!!
More than welcome, install any mod mods in the future I'm always here 👍
I've been staying away from this stuff because of soldering, not that I don't know how to but I just ain't bothered to do that but this.. this is exactly what I was looking for thank you so much
Out of all the people who watch my videos 99.9% don't want to do the soldering, and tbh you only need to do it IF you want to have R3/L3 as your back button. Personally I do no soldering as I only use X and O for the back
@@CraigsChannel yeah, I don't see that really being a big problem considering you can map your controls anyway so if it's a must to have say, crouch that's bound to R3 then bind it elsewhere
Exactly, my mate just wouldn't change his button layout so I had to do the soldering. Mind the soldering on this is super easy compared to other pads, the Xbox Series controller is the worst for fitting the back button kit, you need so solder about 25 points, maybe even more it's a horrible idea and certainly wouldn't recommend it to people who've never soldered. Everybody's been saying this wish Sony would bring a back button kit out like they did for the PS4
@@CraigsChannel I just got this one in the mail today and other than feeling like my hands might be a little big for it I live how flush the buttons are. Works flawlessly.
Dammn just did mines bro..Thanks alot!! It was easier than I thought
Loads of people think it's going to be super hard and they won't even attempt it, I keep saying have faith in yourself. You're one of the good ones who did it with ease 😁
Can’t wait to do the 2.0 back buttons and the new trigger buttons. Great video as always 👍🏽
You going for the normal triggers or the tactile that actually click?
They've just sent me the metal buttons out, so I'll have to get a video of that one up, same process but obviously the buttons will never snap unless the hulk uses my pad 😄
@@CraigsChannel metal buttons sounds good, I might just wait for them. I recently down a back button fit for my mate, who told me extreme rate back buttons don’t work on newer controllers which had me worried, happy to hear extremerate are quick with upgrades.
@@ukdondappa The new pads are a 20 and the old ones a 10, so the older back button kit only worked on a 10, but now they've done the upgraded kit it works on both, you have to cut the ribbon cable that about it, same install process.
One thing with the metal buttons they're bloody freezing lol, buy after like a minute they'll be fine... they made the metal ones as peoples plastic ones were snapping
@@CraigsChannel iv just seen your video on the ribbons. I’m really happy with extreme rate, it’s good quality for a very good price, buttons work really well, saves me from having to spend £200 plus on a scuff or battle beaver.
I'm wondering when SCUF will actually release one! Really interested to see how much they'll be charging, I'm going to say £250
pretty awesome. love your stuff.
Thanks man, appreciate it
This was a great tutorial! I’m not an techie person at all but my son was begging me to put these on for him!
You said an awesome mom 😎 hopefully you didn't find the install to hard! I'm sure he'll want other mods for the controller what I've got on my channel, just depends what game he plays
@@CraigsChannel I took me a minute and had to keep pausing to make sure I did it correctly! But the video was amazing and the controller is working great! Thank you
I think people watch the video for the first time and think 😳 "no way am I attempting that!". But after you've taken it apart you're probably thinking that wasn't so hard after all!
Plus you seem a clever woman, I had a quick look at your videos some of them homes are beautiful, we ain't got nothing like that here in the UK 😄
@@CraigsChannel no it was intimidating though! But it wasn’t too bad after it was all said and done
Mine doesn’t have the little a on the backplate, but it is still BDM 020. Learned it the hard way. The controller won’t turn on but I fixed it by putting everything back. I recommend open up the controller to for sure know what BDM is on the motherboard. Or just get the upgraded back bottom, so It works with both BDMs.
Does the board say BDM-020? It really should have an A after the serial, that's how they've said all over the net how to check. I did do a video opening the pad showing people inside
Amazing video mate good with the detail 👍🏻 think that’s the second one have watched of yours. Need to find the R1/R2 video now so there more like a digital click.
Have you done a video on the new 4 back buttons and if so would you prefer the 2 or 4? 👊🏻
Yeah done a video on everything 😄
Personally I prefer the 2, as 4 buttons is just to many for me to get used to, other people love the 4 buttons though.
I'm happy with 2 back buttons and my tactile digital triggers
@@CraigsChannel Brilliant I use the scuff impact with the four at the back but only use two. Sick of having problems with it though so looking on changing the ps5 controller and be back playing properly.
Take care mate keep up the good videos 👍🏻
Really really helpful video. My first time taking the controller apart. Followed through all steps was really simple but i messed up by cutting the wrong ribbon cable. Idk what to do now lol
Drop extremerate a message on Twitter, explain you've messed up and I'm sure they'll send you a couple of new ribbons
Lovely guide, concise yet human!
Thanks for the kind words 😁
@@CraigsChannel after watching your vid, got a set of the metal back buttons. Had them working in about 45 minutes! Cheers!
Quite a few people even having issues this week, no idea what's going on, maybe something in the weather 😄 awesome to hear yours is working all good
I was doing so well. Followed up the steps until I realized my package didn’t come with the little metal bars that attach the back buttons 😢
Did you message extremerate? Or send it back to Amazon or where you bought the kit from?
Great tutorial buddy thanks for the clear instructions. Does the click triggers work with this install aswel
I've got a few videos, if you're going for the clicky make sure it's the tactile they feel much better than the normally clicky.
That's what I've got myself the back buttons and digital triggers
Hey man thank you so much for this wonderful video you deserve 100000000 like cheers buddy
Thanks David appreciate the kind words. They've brought out a couple of other kits since this one
comments from someone who just completed this mod following this tutorial:
23 minute video took me about an hour to complete all said and done
The box came with a youtube link to an "installation video" printed on it, that video "no longer exists"
There are ribbon cables for the L3/R3 remapping that Craig skipped, and a small wire included (no idea what its for)
They gave me WAY more screws than are called for, I'm not sure what they are all for (i have nearly 20 unused screws)
If you have gigantic Shrek hands like me, use the prying tool to help maneuver and seat the ribbon cables back in to the boards, also the tweezers were invaluable when trying to reinsert the four controller screws
and a headlamp was nice to have if you're not in a well lit room.
10/10, liked and subscribed
An hour is good going.
I agree they give you far to many screws 😄 but they're just replacements for the 4 you opened the pad with, always nice to have spares in case you mess the head up on a screw or somehow lose one.
The little wire you mentioned is for the track pad, if you want to remap one of the back buttons to the track pad you solder that wire, why anybody would want to even remap that is beyond me.
As for a well lit room mine isn't, I've got a lamp but still doesn't give me enough light.
I'm super glad you got everything installed and hope you have fun with the kit 😁
Hey man, nice very well explained video.
I was wondering if its possible to have the option of 1 paddle and leaving the other one out/not clipping it in. Would the one by itself still work?
Thanks
You could do that but I honestly think you'd be better just adding them both in case you change your mind in the future and want to use both. Just only remap one button, so the other doesn't work
Glad they changed the paddles I can’t count the amount of times mine snapped and had to get replacements sent out.
Oh really? Mine only snapped the one time, I had the original v1 paddles, then got the v3 in replacement. My friends are still on the v1 so waiting on there's to snap and I'll fit the v3, but if they don't snap they'll probably upgrade to the 4 button kit, I've just done a video on last night
Great video. Will be ordering a kit 👌🏻
I've just finished fitting another one for a friend 😁
Another thing worth knowing.
I have the V1 but I'm sure it'll be the same with this version. The attachment does alter the feeling of the haptic feedback. I tried it on Ratchet and Clank. The attachment itself vibrates altering the feel. I keep this controller for COD and other controllers for story games.
I only really play CoD, I actually fitted digital triggers to my pad and turned the haptic feedback off, now when I press L2 and R2 its like a mouse click, really good for CoD
@@CraigsChannelYou're right, better turn off all these things when playing online. I've set my aim and shoot buttons to L1 and R1. If I hadn't already installed version 1, I would definitely get this, the clicky triggers sound really cool.
I've tried L1 and R1 in the past but can't reach the back buttons at the same time, so it's something I can't use. With the digital triggers though they feel really good on CoD, it's crazy how fast you can shoot a pistol
Excellent Video Man! Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words 😁
man that was so easy with that video thank you, did it in 45 min
That's really good time if it's the first time you've done anything like this. Nice to hear when people do it with ease and fast 😁
I just finished installation for this, great guide thanks! One question, the remap buttom, it seems to not click in place and due to this it’s moving and as it’s metal, I can hear a sound. Do you have a fix for it? Thanks
A fellow geordie, great tutorial. Gonna buy one and save this video to install
Always good to hear somebody else local on the channel haha.
Did you see they've released the 4 back button kit now? Ive uploaded that video a few days ago
I've only just got a ps5 but this is a must, quality vid
This video won't be any good to you. You'll need the BDM-030 video, I've done the commentary on Extremerates RUclips channel if you check it out, this videos only for the BDM-010 and 020
Great video, very helpful. 😍 love it!!!
I think these feel nicer than my original ones 😎
@@CraigsChannel my white one clicks sound louder. Not clicky. But they work perfectly. Also the grips are so much better.
@@CraigsChannel also I have the black set I want to put on soon too. Just need a cheap controller. Lol
Finding the 020 model here in the UK is a nightmare. I think they only came with the newer version PS5 over here
@@CraigsChannel yeah it sucks not knowing what ones they are. Do they have anything on the box??
Successful upgrade. Thankyou very much for the video.
Hi Craig video and very easy to understand. But I’ve got a BDM 020 controller but I accidentally cut it for one of the strips, do you know if I can just buy one of the strips without buying the whole thing again?
Very good tutorial video i did it step by step with the vidoe very helpful well done and thanks alot for a very nice video
Thanks for the kind words, glad the install was easy for you to follow, always nice to see when people do it trouble free with no issues 😁
You are a hero my friend, thank you very much
Glad I could help, thanks for watching 😎😁😎😁
Great instructions!! It works perfectly! Thanks bro-ski!!
The fpc cable connecting to the motherboard was to short… like the two little piles that you had to put it on, it was to short and didn’t reach the other pole.
Great video really informative and the accent makes it 10 times better
Thanks man, most people don't even know my accent I've been called Irish and Scottish a good few times 😄
Great video thanks man 👍
Thanks for watching Cory 😎
I was having a HUGE problem that I could not locate, it wouldn't turn on. Flash yellow, sometimes work only when pulled apart... My advice, pay attention to the way the slips go into the latches! It has to be the correct side up!!! Specifically the one on the left side! Make sure to copy what side is up and match with video
Few people have had this problem, I've told them it's usually the L1/L2 ribbon.
They've released a new controller version BDM-030
Thank you for helping
Thank you for watching 😁
Please make an installation video for installing hall hall effect triggers on a PS5 Controller THAT WOULD BE LEGENDARY THANK YOU!
I've got two videos up of digital triggers, the clicky and clicky tactile
Well presented, awesome vid! Definitely going to use this for my go to 👍
You just getting back paddles or going for digital triggers as well?
@@CraigsChannel Looking at the Rise4 to begin with, but I've subbed to your channel so if I go for triggers for my 20 then I'll be sorted.
You can get the triggers for both 10 and 20, they're now compatible with both.
Loads of people on the channel went for the RISE4, I've got it fitted but find myself only using 2 buttons, could be due to my small hands 😄
@@CraigsChannel definitely need four, I play a lot of Destiny.
My friend plays that all the time, well Destiny 2. I've not played that one, only the first when it came out back in the day. I've no doubt they'll make another with there being such a big fan base.
People who play Elder Rings said the 4 buttons have been super helpful... I'm guessing on that game you have to press loads of stuff
Thanks for the tutorial, was really clear and I managed to fit a kit on yesterday., only issue I have is the button you mention at 20:44, I can't fit that on properly (when I do put that button and back piece on I'm unable to press the button) - any tips?
Is it the small remap button? Are you putting it the right way? You could maybe sand it down a little if there's plastic in the way or just remove it totally
Do i need the R1R2/L1L2 flex cables to make it work or are they just for binding R1R2/L1L2? ps great video!!!
You explained it all perfectly
thank you for this!
Thanks for watching 😁
Hey man! Amazing Video!
Super duper helpful, not sure I would have managed without you..
Quick question.. I installed everything correctly.. The re-mapping isn't working for me.. Im getting all the feedback perfectly, in terms of the lights blinking when I try to map and when I press X and the back buttons, the light blinks to show it is paired etc.. But when I go to use it, nothing works..
I took it off of settings mode as well, but still no luck.. Any idea what the issue could be?
Have you held the back button to exit remap mode? So like the solid light turns off the one you mentioned blinks
