Hi couple, I recommend a carpet square under subs on ground or grass. The driver excursion will suck in stuff, dirt , grass, moisture, through the port.
Gone through a bunch of mic stands over the years that K&M has become the standard. It's quite easy to "Frankenstein" a stand to meet your needs if you have various types of stands.
Yeah, k&M 210/9 for tall booms are the standard for a reason! also, K&M have replacement parts for everything as well, which is handy. Also available in black, which is preferred on stage ;)
Hello Stacy and Bart I just wanted to thank you. I have learned so much from your videos , I really enjoy what you do and I learn a ton from them . God bless you guys !!!!
As always, this video provided a number of great lessons for those of us who look to The Sound Couple as the prime example of what it means to give clients professional production expertise. It is always helpful to observe how Bart and Stacy work as a team to solve problems that arise at a venue. Thanks for allowing us to follow along on this gig. Watching you two professionals solve problems always encourages me.
Hi Bart and Hi Stacy. This episode was really entertaining. In particular it showed how it is all supposed to go - quick effective load in (know the the venue, know the layout and the eccentricities), the show sounded great (know the band, know their set, know what they need), rapid load out (efficient lay out, a master Tetris-er in Stacy). You make it look fun and sound great. (Looking forward to getting the chance to work with you again next season).
8 min line and sound check for that size group seems crazy good to me. I don’t think I could come remotely close! Nice work! I still need to catch one of your public gigs. This one was close to me. I should have been checking…
We will be back there Friday, July 18 2025. We heard that they are building a new stage...We can only hope that they learned some lessons. I guess we'll find out!
I noticed that you all did not use your "drink sliders" on top of the subs! It must be a very nice crowd. I love the horns. The Mystery Cam has a great videographer. I would guess that it is NOT a phone-saw him at 32:20! Nice band; nice show and crowd! Thanks for sharing.
Great catch! (On both points) Typically for this gig it’s always the listening crowd and the dancers. Given the time of day and event, we aren’t too worried about a drinking sort of crowd. 😊
Great job as usual. What a fantastic band!! Enjoyed the extra footage from the mystery cam. As a musician and a soundman, I'm torn which would be more fun - playing with these guys, or mixing them. Needed more cowbell though...😛
I feel the same! A beautiful area do run sound for a show, with a great crowd. Having a show outside, big stage, great players plus band on IEMs. Ticks all my boxes. What a treat!
K&M make some excellent mic stands i use only K&M for reliability , also for my martin audio double 18 subs i use plastic pallets to keep them off the ground
I confirm that K&M produce, together with the Gravity brand, the best microphone stands on the market, I can save on many things but not on the quality of some details such as the microphone stands, precisely.
I do a quad stack to one side, at an outdoor venue with a large cement stage. It worked so much better than the previous year when I had 2 on each side, and 3 in the center. Ran a center fill last year, and decided against it this year, and that improved the sound too, at this particular venue I do.
Another great gig in the books! After watching you guys for a while, I'm beginning to think it's mandatory for every band in Minnesota to play at least one Prince tune at every show. 😁😄🤣
Funny you mention that....but it does seem like Prince's legacy is just keeps getting stronger. In fact, we were just discussing whether it's surpassing MJ's.
