The Sound Couple is part time...both Stacy and I work day jobs!
What it is that alarm 4:14 - 5:21
That's a severe weather siren...they will go off to inform you that threatening weather is approaching. They are tested on the first Wednesday of every month and that is what this was..just a test.
Why was that siren screaming? Is this some sort of bombing raid?
This are used to warn of severe weather. They are tested monthly and this was a test .
@@thesoundcouple Thank you for your answer. In Poland, they are used in volunteer fire brigades to summon firefighters and are mechanically driven by an electric motor.
In what area do you operate the sound system?
@@jacekalchimowicz1321 Thanks for sharing! We are located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
which you prefer cdl10 or cdl12P for gigs like yours in the video
We will likely be using our CDL12's more because that's what we have more of. If we were starting again, we would consider whether 4 CDL 10P's would do the job....which they would for the majority of gigs we do. However, we still some bigger shows or outdoor where the CDL12's are needed. So the CDL10's would scale us at our limits where the CDL12's leaves us some space....which makes sense, they are a bigger cabinet. Aaah, to answer your question on this video...the CDL10's would have worked just fine here.
@@thesoundcouple cdl12p for 1 each sides can accomodate bigger events like big functionhalls and largebasketball courts?
@@thesoundcouple and during your gigs how many max people can accomodate with cdl-12p
@@thesoundcouple my main foh now is fbt x pro 112 A point source speaker if I upgraded to presonus cdl12p is this will be a greater leap to my upgrade and setup?
@@jirehhumbertdiwa7369 Your questions are very subjective as the space is only one consideration. We can't answer this question for you, but we have literally hundreds of videos on our channel showing gigs and different applications that we use our system for. Hopefully they can provide you the information needed to get a sense of how they would fit with your needs.
"Power Cycle". That seems so strange to me. I use four different Allen & Heath mixers and NEVER had to power cycle them. Weird.
Yes...the PreSonus world and AVB can have its moments....it's getting much better though.
@@thesoundcoupleshould be better after their certification is done and implemented into the firmware! I had a faulty 32R too., that made me look bad at more than one gig. Finally have some backups, so it's in Baton Rouge under warranty repair (cold start issues).
I have had to power cycle the QU-16 I use at fixed FoH installation, twice I think.
@@XIIMonkeysMusicGroup I jinxed myself! For the first time ever, I had to power cycle my SQ-5!! Never before! It worked at sound check but then a short time later all the sound was garbled! At first I thought it was a bad EtherCon cord. Everything went back to normal when I power cycled the SQ-5. Thankfully this was BEFORE the start of the band. Frikkin' weird! So there ya go!
@@williamthesoundguybalestri1745 Every digital device shares some of the same chips, regardless of brand, place of manufacturing, or quality. And they all glitch at some point. The power cycle moves it past the glitch. It's when they have to be power cycled multiple times in a startup is when there's more of a problem, and not just the chips (voltage problems internally can cause the serious problems. This is what my 32R experienced. And it was a known issue with PreSonus during COVID years. I'm on the A&H forums too, and some of them, QU and SQ, also suffered a similar problem. The QU I use is 2014 though. Its power cycle times is the standard digital chip problems).
Wow.... That singer had a lot of dynamics ... I would have used the FET compressor with her
Sure...not a bad choice.
Excuse me, can I use a PRESONUS NSB Stage Box for a studio live 16r and what exactly is it for? Sorry for the question, I'm new to this.
Yes you can, but I believe the 16r is limited to 16 channels total, so you would need to stick to an NSB 8x8 or 16X8. They allow you to distribute your channel inputs beyond just the mixer.
@@thesoundcouple So it only serves as a digital snake? Can't you make more than 16 inputs?
@@fraerstudio2328 No...a stage box will not extend physical input count beyond what the console itself supports.
@@thesoundcouple how kind thank you man
I really want to work woth you guys how do i do that for free though
Thanks for your interest!
is it just me, or is that a metric sh*t tonne of totes for such a small gig? I feel like one cable trunk on wheels and you'd be sorted, cutting load in/out time drastically. Looked like a fun little gig though! I always like a good jazz combo like that, and could she ever sing!
Just our standard pack plus tarps? This gig was certainly a nice change of pace for us!
@@thesoundcouple fair enough.... I've always just been a pack what I need for the gig kinda guy, rather than leaving the truck loaded always. it's a bit more work on the front end, but I always found things at the gig were less chaoric, and the in's and outs were always quicker
I get accused of "too much gear" too, until I have something that's needed, cause it's in my kit!
I think your wedges are TOO big..... They take up so much space. Ever thought of something with coaxial ?
These cabinets are coaxial.

We appreciate you taking the time to watch!
You supposed to duck and cover or what when you hear the Air Raid Warning.
😂 unless it’s the first Wed of the month at 1:00 PM!
Hey Bart,...but your new technician's shoes don't seem very appropriate to our profession!
The Sound Couple needs to update their shoe policy!

Your worker for the day was wearing flip-flops. Not advisable footwear for a job like that. Just a thought...

Should wear a belt for ur back . Lifting that heavy equipment.
Thanks for the suggestion...we work out on a regular basis and lift with our legs. Most of our lifts are 50lbs or less which we believe we should be able to handle that when doing this type of work.
2 band
Complexity goes way up when you account for two bands regardless of their needs!

When you accept free stuff from the big wig audio dealers you get black listed.
Not sure what your goal here with this comment with no basis. Do you need to see our receipts? PreSonus sent us the CDL 10p’s/Sub18’s to review…we fully disclosed that in our videos. Other than that, it’s all us pal. Nobody owns us or tells us what gear to use. We have no contract besides an NDA with PreSonus which is standard business They were nothing but helpful and asked for nothing from us but to use the gear if we had a use for it, which we actually do! Seems like a win/win. The rest of the gear we own with a lot of sweat and hard work. Your comment is extremely offensive to us as our channel is about as real as it gets- we would appreciate if you and don’t watch us or comment. Utter BS!
Don't like the air raid sirens
To clarify, the siren is for severe weather warnings. They are tested monthly which is what was going on here.
這天是什麼日子 為什麼會有空襲警報
這是星期三…警報不是空襲,而是惡劣天氣警報,每個月都會進行測試。 測試發生在我們準備的時候。
As a drummer, the 1st drummer is annoying the heck outta me 😅
Thank you for validating our choices of what to let play out. We weren't trying to call out anyone, but watching other people work is very valuable. Unfortunately, that can be considered "boring" to some, but there is so much to be learned and we don't have the opportunities to see others work in this capacity...whether it's us or anyone else.
Stacy is the worker,be a man Bart not a guy that blames everyone else for problems that occur! You're not as good as You think You are, anyone agree?
Oh, so you must be super human, or not human at all then.
Ouch!
I have personal opinion sence i do this type of work sometimes. You could of just use 2 12s tops one 18 single sub and 2 12s monitors for that type of gig my friend. That event was pieace of Cake .
Many factors involved in determining what gear ultimately ends up on the stage....yes, your logic can be applied to any show yet the final product and outcomes can vary greatly.
He brought minimal gear really.
