Hi! I am a Rammstein fan since 2009 and I think Zeit is one of the best Rammstein song. It is all about, how the time is passing by and we cannot control it. Our time can be end, when we are young, when we are in middle age and when we are old. We cannot control it and they show us in this video. Of course, there is the war motive in the video, because Germany participated in WW1 and WW2 (just like my country, Hungary) and in the war you can die so many times and you cannot control it. The sand is representing the sand of time and fun fact, it is not a CGI, they used real sand in the video. In there live show this was an amazing emotional song and 60.000 people were singing this together. Love your video Ray and I hope in the next one we can see your new hairstyle :D have a nice day guys!:)
The song has nothing to do with any kind of war. It is about the flow of time in our life. The three creatures in black are a symbolism from the northern mythologie the "Edda". They represent the tree nornes 'Urd'(what is), 'Verdandi' (what was) and 'Skuld' (what will be), simply explained. It's is our fate.
The song and video are a masterpiece. There is no need to blur the reverse birth scenes. Childbirth is the most natural thing in the world and since it's not sexual, RUclips has no problem with it. Things are different with the Lindemann music videos and some other Rammstein videos.

Their Names are regarded as Norse equivalents of common medieval Concepts of Time in the form of personifications of the Past (Urd), Present (Verdandi) and Future (Skuld).
I always groan in frustration when people don't figure out that this video can be auto translated for pretty accurate English subtitles, or that one could just find a version of the video with English subtitles already attached. Not getting the translation live as the video is playing is such a waste, so much of the intended impact is lost.
This video is more about a deep subconcious feeling about time than actually intelectual thinking. I leaves some feeling behind, of something deeper going on, almost beyond comprehension that in turn might trigger thinking about it. It is something basic and profound rather than inellectual and follows the path German philosophers took in contrast to French and British thinkers who only allowed abstraction and intellect as a valid subject, while German philosophers found something fundamental missing - the personal view and the impact on ones own feelings that every topic imprints. This kind of thinking did lead to some of the deepest thoughts ever thought but also allowed a sentiment that was the basis for racist and nationalist ideas. That kind of feeling/thinking is at the core of German identity, but it is a truly two edged blade.
