Couple things to note. 2:28 My preference is to hang from the torque wrench as it puts far less pressure on your back, ive seen 60 kg guys break them off no problem this way. 2:41 You actually have to have the wheel off the ground for the entire process including the initial loosening. 5:19 That was way too much grease on the nut you only need a very thin film otherwise as the wheel heats up and the grease thins it will be flung out from the nut leaving grease all over the wheel. 6:20 you dont need to have the accessories on to get enough brake pressure its not that hard to get enough pressure to stop the wheel spinning. Aside from loosening the wheel on the ground these are all just my recommendations after changing hundreds of center lock wheels, otherwise great video.
I find it strange that 911 owners barked at the price ($4995) of the Hytorc Center Lock Torque gun, which gives you the most accurate torque, it only takes minutes for all 4 wheels and you don't need another person to stepped on the brake to prevent the wheels from spinning. Spend over $150k on a 911, complained about a $4995 tool.
things to also note: the back of the centre cap removal tool can be used twist the "lock" part of the nut if pushing it in and out doesn't get it to push out all the way Not recommended to use a rattle gun, the socket and nut aren't really designed for it. if you're going to do a track day, recommended to remove the centre caps...the old ones used to pressurize behind the cap and under constant braking, they pop out.
Some smart ass history stuff (around 7:30): The „tip“ of the Porsche crest points towards the valve of the tire. So the mechanics in the old days new where the valve is. I heard this somewhere somewhen, and just found it amazing. Besides that - nice video! Just facts and doing, without too much ting-a-ling around it. Nice!
There are other solutions using a torque multiplier that are way easier and don’t require the gigantic breaker and torque wrench. I have had 3 center lock cars now with multiple wheels and have never used anything more than a normal torque wrench and multiplier.

I think porsche has a tool that screws in after you take the nut off so you can just slide the wheel on it, the last thing you want to do is knick the ceramic rotors with the wheels. If i had the money i still wouldn't option these centerlock wheels, pita
other than aesthetic appeal, what is the purpose of these for a road car? More of a PIA over standard 5 bolts. Only advantage is if you are racing and save valuable time in a pit stop which 99.9% of these are never in that situation
Correct, the biggest advantage is saving time while racing but another small benefit is the allowance for larger brakes and slightly smaller rotational mass. And they're just cool 😎
How often do you take your wheels off though ? Maybe twice a year if you daily drive it and swap between summer and winter tires. Yes it's a bit of a hastle compared to normal 5 lugs, but nothing ridiculous.

Wheels look so much better than the stock ones! Great video!

Thanks Bryan for the great video that shows it is really not that difficult.
Nice. I’ve always wondered how these actually worked. Thanks for the thorough walkthrough :)
Thank you for the great video. Very clear and instructive.
Great video and like the look of new wheels.
Great video. Thanks. Hopefully I don’t have to do this on my Turbo S, but if I ever do, I have a guide now you’ve explained it so well 👍
Super good video! Thanks for posting.

1:52 What if the ebrake is on and the car is in park or in gear? Will the car still roll when untorquing the centre locks?
I like the racecar look of the centerlocks
Great video. Looking for guidance on purchasing centre lock.wheels. How do you determine the specs to shop for?

Awesome vid!!! Is Lamborghini and Ferrari same steps?
We have not tested that just yet but its something we should do!
Bro i have the same car tnx for helping your videos are the best
Of course! Glad we could help out! 💪

Would a wheel chock not replace the other person?

I swear there are more grease points than just the centerlock…?
Center locks look cool but too impractical for me. Don't always have a buddy to sit in the car while changing a tire
444FT-LBs HaHa That's KRAZY!!!

Very intersting :)
Guys in the links above the Torque Wrench is 3/4 but the Breaker bar is 3/8 any reason for this before I order both? thanks jk
It's converted from 600Nm
Thx very very 🫶
Lesson here: GT and Turbo Porsche cars are not for me. No way I’m ever dealing with this just to remove the wheel.
Or buy a hyrtorq gun
Cry harder
I'll take your Porsche 911 GT3 off your hands. HaHa

All the stuff you do on your cars and this is too much?
What a insane headache just to remove a wheel
Hmm probably not worth it if you make a lot wheel off adjustments honestly
Worth it in almost every way, except being a 2 man job
Anyone here after receiving Porsche's recall message? 😩
nice number Porsche, 444
