      Defensively sure. Offensively though? Sheed can say they sacrificed point for team, but the crappy FG% don’t add up. Normally if Chauncey is sacrificing points for team then that means he is sacrificing total shots for more quality shots. Chauncey couldn’t even make 40% of his shot that year.

    • @adamfeliciano6321
      @adamfeliciano6321 6 месяцев назад +6

      @AAblade7 respectfully I cant even call you a nerd because you’re not good in logic. The 2000s era was the deadball era, meaning defense was at an all time peak. Which means the 04 pistons were the 17 warriors, on defense. That low fg % from Chauncey is a result of him making his opponent shoot even lower than he did. You expend energy on both ends of the court. 30ppg Zack Lavine for example would barely crack 20ppg 20 years ago. Don’t believe me? He’s not even half the player Kobe was but his numbers are inflated today, and he only plays one end of the court. Which means he’s 33% the player Kobe was in reality.

    • @AAblade7
      @AAblade7 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@adamfeliciano6321 First off do you understand what context or qualifiers means? Cause you didn’t even read them based on this answer. So sure the logic doesn’t make sense when you have barely half the information. Chauncey’s FG% was low for his era especially 03-04. Like I said before his numbers were below avg for his era. So why you decided to claim it was in context to a more modern era or randomly bring in Zach Lavigne that’s on you. Also if you actually watched that season you’d know the reason why Chauncey FG% was so down was because he couldn’t hit a mid range to save his soul whether he was fresh at the start or tired at the end.
      Also Yes I agree that the 04 pistons were amazing on the defensive side of the ball. On the other the 17 warriors were also elite defensively. The 04 pistons were mid offensively in 04 and are arguably the worse offensive team to win a finals since the NBA/ABA merged. So someone trying to tell me one team elite on only 1 side of the ball and mid on the other is going to beat a team that was elite on both sides just preaches delusion.

      @AAblade7 6 месяцев назад +3

      Do you think anyone was comfortable when the warriors had the ball? Also I remember watching that 03-04 pistons and nobody in their right mind thought they played a quality team style basketball. Sheed can talk team centric offense or that they were using offense to wear down the other team. It doesn’t change the fact that they struggled to create quality shot opportunities.

      @@Skedoosh99 Steph has went cold in some series. That’s one reason why the Cavs came back from 3-1 on them. Steph wasn’t shooting well. KD can be slowed down with physicality.
      We saw that in the Boston vs Bklyn series. KD did give PJ Washington work in the Milwaukee series, but PJ is only 6’4. You could see KD was getting tired. If PJ was at least 6’7 he would have slowed KD down in that Brooklyn vs Milwaukee series.
      Klay is largely a spot up shooter who needs screens and mismatches. He’s not really someone who is good at going off the dribble like Steph or KD. Detroit had length and elite defenders. But that could make it hard for GS.
      Only issue is Detroit didn’t have elite offensive fire power. RJ was their best scorer them Sheed. But they aren’t dudes like Steph or KD, who can easily give you 40. That why Draymond saying they beat the 96 Bulls is lunacy. They were probably even better defensively than Detroit, which is tough and they had better offensive players. Shyt Ron 1:06 Harper averaged 21 ppg his rookie year in Cleveland, same as Lebron. Not saying he’s nearly as good, but boy was a problem before that knee injury. That’s why MJ wanted him, he used to be one of his toughest match ups along with Joe Dumars. He was a solid 3 & D type. Then you had Kukoc, who was an averaging close to 20, when MJ left. He was the 6th man. Pippen could give you that work. He’s virtually unstoppable in the open floor. Rodman and Longley not so much, but nor was Draymond & Bogut. 1. Sheed doesn’t seem to understand that the warriors offense was team centric as well. The difference based on his wording is what they were looking for. The pistons were wearing down the other teams legs and the warriors were looking for the best quality shot. Must be why the warriors had high shooting % for their era and the pistons shooting % were below avg in their era.
    2. Sheed needs to look at MP in the finals. Mike James barely played in the finals. The warriors played their benches more in the playoffs and finals.
    3. Here is my big problem with the whole defense debate. The warriors are an elite defensive team. You may hate this era, but they play fundamentally sound defense. So please don’t tell me a team that struggled to be mid offensively is just going to blow the doors off of a team that was elite defensively in its own era.
