Cigarette smell is not a worry for me, having grown up with smokers. Lovely bag! A while ago I bought a bag with a smell which might have been cigarettes, but with another unknown factor to it. To my surprise, the musty-cigarette odour has gone, just by leaving it out in the air. The bag still needs professional cleaning, but the smell is no longer a problem. I would say 95% of the smell has gone. Thank you for the video.
I don’t have smokers in my close family, yet still somehow the smell doesn’t bother me too much (it reminds me of my old „party days“ when people still used to smoke in bars and clubs and your clothes still smelled that way the next day 😆). Thank you for sharing! I made the same experience, that most of the times airing is enough to get rid off cigarette odour over time. So I‘m confident it will work for this bag aswell 🤞
If you put newspaper in your bag it could help the smell go away faster. There’s something in The newspaper printing that can help take away smell. I think it might be carbon or something like that. Just a little tip.💖

Mine probably could performe better, if I would prepare a script, but it‘s tricky to do so, if you‘re not 100% sure, what even to expext in the box 😂. Sometimes I prepare the intro and the part before the unboxing and then it‘s freestyle as soon as I open the box 😂 - this time it was all freestyle
Omg having a smell is so terrible! I purchased a bag from them in 2020 and it smelled so bad, like mildew and mold. They didn’t contact me at all or list that it had an odour and I couldn’t return it 🥲 luckily it was only like $150 so I didn’t lose too much but I couldn’t keep it, I ended up giving it away but I’ve decided to never shop with them again because of it. Glad they notified you at least!
Mildew/mold really is the worst smell a bag can have 🫢 - I‘m sorry you made these negative experiences with VC! Unfortunately I‘m kinda addicted to them (eventhough I had quite some bad experiences with them myself 😅)
I love this bag, especially with the cherry charm! I bought the same bag in encre after seeing Julie's review, and it also had a smell (of perfume) that has now dissipated. I know what you mean that it feels smaller than a 30, but it is larger than my 25 and is a great size that fits the body perfectly. I really love everything about mine, the feel of the fabric, the slouch, the space, the low-key logo, the solid hardware, the very adjustable strap. I enjoy it both as a shoulder and crossbody bag. I don't use an organizer, but I do keep most everything in pouches. I think you will really love it also. I must say you got it for a very good price, enjoy!

I love those bags. I lived in New York when they were being sold at LV stores and I remember seeing people walking around the city with them and I really wanted one. That was long before I was ever in a position to afford one, though. Congratulations on this find! I also purchased an LV bag recently with a cigarette odor (very strong and not disclosed) I was prepared to return the bag but have been surprised that it dissipated a lot over a few days so I've decided to keep it.

Perfume smell can drive me crazy, if it‘s one that I hate 😆 ..but guess out of all preloved-scent-possibilities, perfume is still the best one to live with. It would be great if VC would have mandatory checkmarks for odors, when an item is listed..

I bought bags with non disclosed odors before frome Vestiaire Collective: perfume, cigaretts and even weed 😅. Maybe they had to face a lot of complaints and therefor started to check and inform about it more carefully (yet still their scanty information „smell“ unfortunately doesn’t help too much 😅). I‘m glad it worked out for my anyways, it‘s day 3 of me owning the bag and the odor already got a lot better 🙌

So, I'm still hesitating... even if I know that this way is the only chance for me to buy bags like Montorgueil or Batignolles... I probably need to watch more unboxing videos on your channel... 🤭😁
With professional sellers on VC you have the option to return (without having to disclose any reasons therefor), so maybe that‘s a quite safe way for to test it out, without too much risk. And if you don’t like the bag or the condition, you can just send it back 😁. When buying from a private person on VC though, you hardly have any chance to return a piece (unless VC missed something important in their checkup) I plan on filming some videos about my tips and tricks how to shop on VC - but get distracted with different video ideas all the time 😅🙈
Haha, I would be way to scared to ruin the bag in the washer 😁 but it already got so much better after only a few days of airing it. I‘m confident I‘ll be able to get completely rid of it 👌
If its a weed smell id say put a bar of soap in it. I do it for a few things and it makes everything smell nice. I actually keep soap in my dresser drawers so my clothes smell uniquely nice
@@LuMiLevelUp i found the trick because i forgot who but someone famous put soaps in their sock drawr they smell good all day. So it tried it and it worked
I have a stinky bag that I need to take care of 🤣. Stay tuned! I love the bags made from this material. Just be careful with it because it can rip easily. If you notice a small spot of wear to the fabric, use a product called "Fray Check" and it will prevent further damage 🥰.

May I ask, do you know where they authenticate the items you purchase? I'm from Italy and want to buy items from sellers within Europe to avoid having to pay a customs to receive the item...or do I actually still have to pay customs if, for example, I buy an item from a seller from France which is then sent to VC (wherever they are located) to authenticate before it's sent to me...? Hi Rae 🙋🏼♀️ happy to have you here and great to hear you watch my videos to learn some more about VC (I've been planning to do an entire series about my "tips & tricks how to shop on VC" for quite a while now, but always get distracted by different video ideas 😅 - questions like yours motivate me, to finally start filming that VC series 😁)! As far as I know, all the items in Europe get sent to the headquarter in France (at least I think all the packages I received with VC-check came to me from France, no matter where the seller was located). But you don't have to worry about additional customs: when only shopping from European sellers, there are no additional customs/duties/taxes - you just have to pay the shipping and the optional 15 Euro for the authentification service (unfortunately, Great Britain is an exception to that since they exited the EU - now there is import duty on top).

I had a really bad experience with VC. I purchased a round balmain bag and it came on a mini version...like 11 cm lol 🤣 the process to return it was horrible..only a chat to talk to people...horrible. I even deleted the app..
Oh no, that really sounds horrible 😅🙈 VC is fun, as long as you don’t need any customer support 😂- then it can get tricky and you need quite some patience. Over the years I had some bad experiences with them aswell and totally understand how one could get completely frustrated with them!

Absolutely. it smells like juvenile perfume. cherry bubblegum maybe. It was an Alma BB. there was no stain on the micro suede. But nothing, sunlight , desiccant packages, charcoal. I even tried baking soda and vacuumed after Nothing got rid of it. Sunlight will remove musty mold very easily. Time and incandescence will remove fire smells. To me E cigarette was permanent

My Speedy was airing in the sun, filled with some coffee beans 😁 - and now, 3 days, later it‘s already soooo much better. The paperbag and box don’t smell anymore at all - and I‘m very confident the bag won’t take too long anymore either 🙌

Haha, I would be way to scared to ruin the bag in the washer 😁 but it already got so much better after only a few days of airing it. I‘m confident I‘ll be able to get completely rid of it 👌
If its a weed smell id say put a bar of soap in it. I do it for a few things and it makes everything smell nice. I actually keep soap in my dresser drawers so my clothes smell uniquely nice
Maybe the soap helps for every kind of odors 🧼 it‘s definitely worth a try 😁
@@LuMiLevelUp i found the trick because i forgot who but someone famous put soaps in their sock drawr they smell good all day. So it tried it and it worked

I love the bags made from this material. Just be careful with it because it can rip easily. If you notice a small spot of wear to the fabric, use a product called "Fray Check" and it will prevent further damage 🥰.

I've read and heard so many bad reviews about VC and I'm so hesitant to try them but your videos are giving me hope that it might be worth the try!
May I ask, do you know where they authenticate the items you purchase? I'm from Italy and want to buy items from sellers within Europe to avoid having to pay a customs to receive the item...or do I actually still have to pay customs if, for example, I buy an item from a seller from France which is then sent to VC (wherever they are located) to authenticate before it's sent to me...? I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense. I'm still trying to figure things out since I'm new to using VC. 😅
Hi Rae 🙋🏼♀️ happy to have you here and great to hear you watch my videos to learn some more about VC (I've been planning to do an entire series about my "tips & tricks how to shop on VC" for quite a while now, but always get distracted by different video ideas 😅 - questions like yours motivate me, to finally start filming that VC series 😁)! As far as I know, all the items in Europe get sent to the headquarter in France (at least I think all the packages I received with VC-check came to me from France, no matter where the seller was located). But you don't have to worry about additional customs: when only shopping from European sellers, there are no additional customs/duties/taxes - you just have to pay the shipping and the optional 15 Euro for the authentification service (unfortunately, Great Britain is an exception to that since they exited the EU - now there is import duty on top).

I had a really bad experience with VC. I purchased a round balmain bag and it came on a mini version...like 11 cm lol 🤣 the process to return it was horrible..only a chat to talk to people...horrible. I even deleted the app..
Oh no, that really sounds horrible 😅🙈 VC is fun, as long as you don’t need any customer support 😂- then it can get tricky and you need quite some patience. Over the years I had some bad experiences with them aswell and totally understand how one could get completely frustrated with them!

@@VictoriaFame I got scamed on Vinted before aswell 😂 bought a Louis Vuitton Agenda that turned out to be fake - and then even brought the case to court. If you check back waaaaaaaay to my very old uploads, there’s a video about it. Haha, seems like we‘re no where really safe 😅🙈

Absolutely. it smells like juvenile perfume. cherry bubblegum maybe. It was an Alma BB. there was no stain on the micro suede.
But nothing, sunlight , desiccant packages, charcoal. I even tried baking soda and vacuumed after Nothing got rid of it. Sunlight will remove musty mold very easily. Time and incandescence will remove fire smells. To me E cigarette was permanent
@@lesliecraven3087 that‘s good to know! If I ever come along a bag smelling like that, I won’t even try to give it some time, but will return it (if it’s possible 😅).
My Speedy was airing in the sun, filled with some coffee beans 😁 - and now, 3 days, later it‘s already soooo much better. The paperbag and box don’t smell anymore at all - and I‘m very confident the bag won’t take too long anymore either 🙌

Cigarette smell is not a worry for me, having grown up with smokers. Lovely bag! A while ago I bought a bag with a smell which might have been cigarettes, but with another unknown factor to it. To my surprise, the musty-cigarette odour has gone, just by leaving it out in the air. The bag still needs professional cleaning, but the smell is no longer a problem. I would say 95% of the smell has gone.
