I have watched your videos for years and I feel like you have really blossomed and come nto your own this year. I laughed out loud when you talked about the parcel shelf story. I agree with the sentiment that it's healthy to do our best and not to take ourselves too seriously at the same time.

That will never change. I am in my 70s and still want to be stylish. I mostly wear jeans with a nice top and shoes. Every day I wear makeup, even if I am staying home.

Lily there are a ton of black creators with curly hair. You don’t need to be black to learn from us. 😂 I learned how to do my hair as well as my son’s hair by watching RUclips.
of course, I was just referring to the content that is served to me on the algorithm, not the content I follow or seek out. But also, feel free to send over any recs, I'm always looking for more! And as I think I tried to get across, it's not really about the curls... I LOVE curls on other people, it's a mental struggle I need to just get through that's personal to me. It's tricky to be vulnerable on the Internet but we all have our own struggles that might seem strange to others.
@@lilypebbles your feelings towards your hair are valid! We’ve all been there. I’m not taking that away from you. Curly hair is hard and takes a ton of time. I was in my 40’s before I started really trying to love my curls. It’s a journey!

Hi Lily! I've been working in optics for ages, so let me explain your prescription. You have astigmatism which means the rays of light don't focus in one place on your retinas. The glasses correct this so you can focus properly. The amount of astigmatism you mention is significant and ideally you should be wearing glasses full time. Check with your optician. It might be that your visual acuity is not too bad without correction. Hope this helps!

Hi Lily! Curly girl from Australia here 😊 I have absolutely embraced that I feel more myself with straight hair. On holiday / during Summer here I honestly just pick the days I wet my hair in the pool or ocean. Otherwise it’s up in a bun and I avoid it getting wet, it’s just easier that way! On the days I do want to properly swim, I still wash, dry, straighten and cover in anti humidity spray. KMS does a great one! Good luck xx

I also have really curly hair and prefer it straight as it’s easier/I don’t have to wash it as often! However, on summer holidays, I admit defeat and embrace the curls (always fun when humid 😂)

In Singapore I use the COLORWOW DREAM COAT, that did work great for me, but also my hair dryer worked perfectly out there, same electrical voltage I think x

Have you thought about doing keratin smoothing or straightening before your summer holidays? It only lasts for a few months but might soften and smooth your hair enough for the swimming and air drying situation?

I really really suggest you let your hair dry naturally one day with no product (except maybe comb it through with a bit of a leave in conditioner) and see what it does. And then try puttimg it up etc that way to practice

I have naturally curly hair and am very happy to have it straight for exactly the same reasons as you! I live in humid climate and get Keratin done. Some folks call it hair botox. If you have the products you could even do it at home.
I got laser eye surgery 5 years ago and it was the best thing ever

I haven’t got curly hair but on holiday couldn’t you try putting it in the French plaits you always used to do in the day, then when you take it out at night it shouldn’t be too frizzy?

I'm the person w curly hair but it's not curly from the roots. I think we are the "other" curly group you don't take seriously 😂 I totally get why BTW. But no one sees my curls. It goes up in a pony tail the moment it is anywhere close to dryish when we are on holidays. I know you're self conscious about the parts of Hair that don't sit flat from the root but honestly nobody notices or thinks it's strange. It's your hair. As uncomfortable as it may feel having your hair do this, it's totally normal for curly hair not sit flat!
You're so authentic lily which is so inspiring. But perfect hair 24/7 is not normal!! Spending lots of time on hair daily is exhausting especially as a mum. So if all you can do is throw it up in a bun, who the f* cares what it looks like. It honestly doesn't matter ❤ oh and I loved the braids era you experienced during your grow out phase. Revert to that!

Loving your content lately, Lily! It’s so refreshing to see you, just be you! I have curly hair too but much prefer them straight. Keratin or Botox are great options to keep them straight - I got it done and it had cut down my styling time, number of products by like 80%! Totally worth getting it done every 4-6 months.

Quick tip for your new ottoman - Dunelm sell a spray to protect furniture fabric. Highly recommend as we have cream sofas and it's been great for them!

I always look forward watching your vlogs, you are so relatable personally as a Mum of two living real life compared to other vlogers with dogs and cats doing luxury unboxing ( no offence to pet lovers). It is so hard to raise next generation and do vlogging at the same time juggling 100 other things.

You´re not old. You just need bifocal lenses in your glasses that allow you to see close up and far away :) I have bifocal lenses in both my normal glasses and sunglasses and it´s amazing!

Re: curly hair. as a non-white viewer (for more than 10 years) with curly hair it is actually really challenging to listen to you talk so negatively about your curly hair. the way you talk about curly hair not looking neat or sharp or nice is extremely hurtful and i also want to bring up the white supremacy inherent in this belief. as a proudly jewish woman, i would hope that you might be able to embrace your curly hair as a gorgeous part of your heritage. instead, you’re leaning into the “straight hair is classy and put together” and “curly hair is unsophisticated and unprofessional” that permeates our culture constantly and marginalizes black women and other women with very curly hair. further, this idea that “most curly content creators only have wavy hair” is another example that you’re only looking for white people and white people’s content. try branching out, and maybe you’ll hate your hair and what it means a little less.
I’m white with curly hair and I find it quite disheartening too. Have for years.
