What M G Sreekumar is saying is true only. M G is a versatile singer and legend. Venugopal cannot sing like M G. Venu has some limitations, he cant excel in Classic or Semi classic or fast song. But M G sir can do anythng, we all know that. Listen to M G's songs, even our new generation cannot touch his range with that much clarity. Of-course Veugopal is good singer.

We obliged to Lalettan for not getting influenced by this guy when it comes to music.. All pranavam arts movie songs are sung by Yesudas.. Otherwise we would have lost many immortal songs like Pranadavanam, Ramakadha, etc.. Pranayavasantam song had he sung in 1982 I can't imagine.. His voice was very amature in early 80s.. Listen to the songs he sung in Priyadarshan movies in 80s..
On those days mohanlal was nothing,apart from that all those days directors over and beyond music director's quite seniors,so your question is totally invalid and exaggerating,exasperating farrago,mohanlal was not the captain,director and music director's got the edge above protagonist,as far as today's scenario is concerned you are perfectly nailed situvation.
His songs in 80s are good man. What are you saying ? Hits like ponveene, mandara cheppundo, songs from chitram etc are all super hits even now. Always think positively and look into the good part of a person rather than finding some faults.

മലയാളത്തിൽ വൃതൃസ്ഥതയുള്ള ഗായകർ ആകെയുള്ളത് രണ്ടേ രണ്ടു പേർ മാത്റം. അത് ഒന്നു് യേശുദാസ് മറ്റൊന്നു് ജയചന്ദ്രൻ മാത്റം. പിന്നെ ഒരുപാട് പേർ വന്നു അവരുടെ കഴിവിനനുസരിച്ചു പാടിയിട്ടുമുണ്ടു്. എന്നാൽ ശ്റികുമാറിനെ മേൽപ്പറഞ്ഞ രണ്ടു പേർ കഴിഞ്ഞു് 20-ാം സ്ഥനാത്തു പോലും എത്തുന്നില്ല. എല്ലാം സഹിക്കാം, ചന്തു പൊട്ടും എന്ന പാട്ടിനു ദേശീയ അവാർഡ് കൊടുത്തത് കടന്ന െകെ ആയിപ്പോയി. ആ ചിത്റത്തിൽ കലാഭവൻ മണിയുടെ പാട്ടിന് കൊടുത്താലും തരക്കേടില്ലായിരുന്നു. ശ്റികുമാറിന് ഉണ്ണിമേനോനും താഴെ സ്ഥാനമുള്ളു. ഉണ്ണി മേനോന് ഇതുവരെ ഒരു സ്റ്റേററ് അവാർഡ് പോലും കൊടുത്തിട്ടില്ല.
