Hi Deano... Enjoying your advice in the takedowns. I've got all the DeWalt nailers - don't really use any of them enough for wear & tear ...but that said - early last year I bought a clean, used 18v DCN650 15Ga Angled Nailer. A second fixer with a bit more bite. Purchased it just for pinning coving. I've only smashed half a dozen small rooms of coving jobs with it and Its just started playing up. It makes all the usual noises it should ramping up... but when I pull the trigger it just lets out a weak Pfft ! ..(bit like that usual sound my air nailers make) anyways, after maybe 8, 9, 10 attempts at discharging a round it will SLAM one out good and proper...I had it set sinking the brads 1/8th below the surface (this saves me marring the coving hammering anything that's proud home , just leaves the tiny brad hole to fill) ...& now I can't back the depth wheel off enough so the brads stay at the surface - the wheel is stiff to turn and stops half way up the printed gauge. Any of your genius thoughts on a remedy would be greatly appreciated bud !
there are some many things it could be, you wont know until you open it up. if it is clicking instead of firing it may need a new axis on top of the pin assembuly, or it may have bent the pin and its jamming up. Open it, check the spings are good, pin is straight, if damaged replace them. otherwise i would say its the axis
Hi dean, your videos help me out a lot but I’m stumped on my dcn692 type 2. Constantly getting the battery light flash. If I disconnect the yellow & brown wire the motor will fire up but otherwise won’t. Axis need replacing?
Hi Dean .. thanks for all the infinformative videos that you post , i have a dcn692 on the bench at the minute.. the light flashes whe the trigger is pulle and when the safety switch is pressed in however the motor doesn't turn at all . Any thoughts please ? Thank you regards Keith
I have 2 of these guns and they both don’t fire . The motor spins up and it makes a noise like it’s firing a nail but it doesn’t fire would you have any idea as to what it could be ? My local repair shop would not even bother looking at them and said just throw them in the rubbish bin.
open up and top door and make sure there is not a nail or nail head jammed down at the front. plus it wont shoot very well in hard timber. . after that your looking at the pin itself, it may be bent of the very tip may have worn away and is no longer flat.
Hi Dean, I have this nail gun. I am trying to repair the one I have, but still can't get it to fire. How do you test the Control Module #N775341? Could you do a video on trouble shooting this part?
Hi mate i have one of these what needed a service i had no nails so just stripped it down and clesned it all but when u take out the magazine the striker tip looks to be set back and tucked up slighly to the magnet bit which looks like once fired will hit the rear of the nose piece as theres a lip just worried about firing it just incase it breaks it altogether
Hi Dean, great video. Just got one of these nailers this week. I always love a breakdown and repair video. Far to much stuff to the dump.

Hi Keith same issue here, did you ever get to the bottom of it?

striker profile probably need replaced. I found them for $75 on Ebay
I had the same problem, turned out to be a nail head had broken off and was left inside the casing. Once I managed to remove it it works fine now.
A professional.
Do you know why my nail gun won’t shoot sink any bigger than 52 m nails
did you put oil inside it.
Hi I have one of these guns
I fires perfect in single fire
But bump mode has stopped
Any ideas what the cause is.
Great videos . Make it look simple.
Either the selector switch needs cleaned out with contact cleaner or the trigger switch. I would simply clean out both once it's opened
@@deandohertygreaser thanks very much 👍
@@deandohertygreaser this worked perfectly on both my nail guns
Thanks very much
Do you do warranty repair? Or is this a hobby? The amount you do leads me to believe this is more than a hobby for you
Just got this gun and it jams every third nail or so. Any advice?
I have one of these that fires every time but bends the nails or gets stuck on most nails and wont let go. Do you have any advise?
