Very nice example. New subscriber. I didn't even know about the Firehawk until maybe a month ago. I recently flew down and picked up an '09 G8 GT Memorial Day weekend and drove it back from Arlington, Texas. Mine, or my wife's rather, is the Maverick Silver Metallic. It only had 47,000 original miles on it. I just this week installed a tune and removed the AFM/DOD. I've researched and read about oil consumption and damaged and failing lifters. I bought it for its 6.0L V8. If I wanted a four cylinder, then I would buy one. LOL. I just installed a VCM OTR intake this evening. These cars were so unappreciated when they were new, but those that recognize them know what it's all about. We handed down our '08 G6 GT to my 16 year old daughter. Sense a trend here? The gentlemen I purchased the G8 from was in his late 70's and owned all four generations of Transam at one time. This was his last Pontiac.
Damn that was awesome to read! I always wanted this car since it came out. I had an 01 bonneville as my 2nd car and now g8 is next it’s time.. I love Pontiac and miss them
Nice Firehawk! I have an IOM 08 GT that is cammed, Magnuson supercharged, etc. Luckily, my headliner is still perfect. I've heard that the headliner detaches on the car's with sunroofs much sooner than the ones that don't.
I was car shopping 10yrs ago and I let a dealer talk me out of buying G8 GT. He was tellin me all the "problems" they have. And how hard it is to get parts and all this other bs....pretty sure he wanted it either for himself or a family member. Ended up getting a Grand Prix which I still have and has treated me extremely well over the years. STILL luv the G8's tho! Awesome car, bro. Wanna sell it?
IMO the 92 is the best Firehawk. I have an 01 and I absolutely love it. The G8 Firehawks are, to me, a totally different beast. Fantastic nonetheless, super rare, huge power, so glad Pontiac put this out before they left. They would not go quietly into the night! Cherish that my friend, those are gonna be $$$ soon!
First and foremost, enjoy the car man. Take care of it and don't molest it too much and it may see a good increase in value in time. KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL PARTS!!!! lol
Another 2 to 3 years these are gonna be outrageously priced! Restore this to as perfect as you can cause you will get some big bucks! Just wait a see... Good Luck brother💯✌
Pretty cool story behind this one. have you ever had the engine looked at? just curious. i have a 16 and well. yeah.. knowing what i know now, i can only assume i know why they were phased out a second time.
The engine runs fine, I don't see a reason to look at it. I might remove the DOD in the future. I don't understand what you mean by being phased out the second time, GM killed Pontiac in 2009.
Man.. That Firehawk look amazing. Love those G8, GxP,'S and G XP coups And Fire🔥hawk's🦅 am going to buy a lot of Pontiac's cars. When I safe up some money.
These are extremely bad ass cars. I’ve always loved the firehawk name… it’s a shame Pontiac is now defunct, that had so many great cars in the 2000s from tuners to muscle.
In my humble opinion...... The Firehawk badge should've never been used on the G8. Firehawk, Firebird. I'm a proud owner of a 1996 Camaro Z28 SS #2304...... Another SLP Performance Vehicle.
it kinda sux that u guys didn't get the best of these cars, its like they made them out of drips n drabs from what i can see its a supercharged ss ve commodore with calais belt moulds n door handles with of course the Pontiac front bar, they should have at least gave u guys a w427 rebadged
its definitely a collectors car. keep it in good shape. Its a rare car

Just a heads up the lifters will still fail with DOD turned off. You just disabled the feature but the parts are still there.

Wanna sell it?
The Grand Prix is a good car but this Rear drive 4door is awesome.
Lol he got u good , gxp? Really damn no way
Beautiful peace of work IVE seen many here in MICHIGAN
Thank you.
Nice video, cool car. Another cosmetic difference of the Firehawk is the upper-grill surrounds have been painted black (they are normally chrome).
Yes you are correct.
Beautiful car.
Thank you.
Nice ride! Since you are swapping out your seats back to the all black, are those red and black seats for sale?
Nice ride!
Thanks!
Beautiful car! I just have an 08 GT. This looks so much nicer.
Thank you.

I had a 2000 Firehawk also and it was fun, but someone wanted it more then me and paid my price for it. I plan on keeping this one for a long time.
First and foremost, enjoy the car man. Take care of it and don't molest it too much and it may see a good increase in value in time. KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL PARTS!!!! lol
Very nice. I didn't know they existed. I would keep that baby.
I didn't know it either until I started looking to buy a G8.
Real nice, 🤙🏻
Thank you.
I hear about the headliner issue a lot and my GT with 130,000 miles has no issues anywhere on it. Now I just jinxed myself.
Yeah it sucks. I want to keep the car all original so I have to use the original material.
Another 2 to 3 years these are gonna be outrageously priced!

It's already pretty perfect. Just needs a new headliner.
@@KGsGarage that's awesome, it definitely looks great! I've yet to see one in person it's killing me.lol✌
Where do you live?

Right on!
I never knew they made a GXP Firehawk. I always thought they were all GT’s. So the GXP is even cooler. Supercharged LS3!
Mine is a GT, but yes they made 9 GXP's. Maybe one day I'll get one of those too.
Just recently purchased my own G8 GT and I came across this video…. OMG THIS IS ONE OF THE SEXIEST CARS IVE SEEN.
thank you.
what do u want for seats when u change them out....i got all black n great shape....
I'll sell them for a good price, because i need the room.
@@KGsGarage make me a price......lol
Would you be willing to sale the red and black seats that’s your going to take out?
Yes. where are you located?
@@KGsGarage I'm also interested in your red and black seats if there still or become available located in Atlanta GA

I agree, I also had a 2000 Trans am Firehawk.. It was fun.
Hi are your red & black seats available ?
They will be eventually.
Please just let me know as soon as you're ready to let them go.
@@KGsGarage still waiting on those seats when ever you get a chance
Where you get them wheels bro??
They come with the Firehawk. I heard they are the same as what was put on some Holden's also.

could you send me some pictures of it. I'm collecting pics of all the Firehawks to put on my g8firehawks.com/ page.
Super charged 6.0 LS with only 500 HP I have a 08 G8 gt N/A that makes 505 to the wheels
Your G8 didn't make that stock. There is nothing done to this engine besides a safe tune and a SC.
@@KGsGarage you are rite 😁
I guess u kept that Firehawk real conservative
VE Holden RIP 🇦🇺
I know.. it's a shame.
I need this car 🥲
I'll sell it for $100k :)
In my humble opinion...... The Firehawk badge should've never been used on the G8.
Firehawk, Firebird.

It is weird to call a G8 a firehawk.
Think your mistaken on one of 20 btw

I know them 9 Gxps feel like the big shit.
I don't think they care since cars don't have feelings.

So you feel that way or thank you? Depending on what you mean. :)
Drive that thang!
I'm interested in your seats, you can find me on Facebook under my name. Willing to either pay shipping or drive to you for them.
When I pull them out I'll look for you.
Do a road test, dude. It's all about performance so let's see some.
Next time i take it out i will.
