Hello everyone!
Wow, you guys this is our favorite castle here in Germany so far! I know there is a lot more to see but the Burg Eltz Castle was beautifully intact, with stunning architecture, and so much history.
This 850-year-old castle has a romantic feel when you enter through the archways. I loved that they offered guided tours in English, which made this experience 100 times better. Within the castle walls are beautiful hand-painted walls, a 500-year-old bed, handmade tapestries, armory, and treasury all amazing to see.
The Eltz family line is still going strong with the 33rd generation. How amazing is that! It truly blows my mind.
If you are pcsing or moving to Germany, the Eltz Castle is a must-see. It is about 2 hours away from Ramstein so it makes for a great affordable day trip.
For people with young babies or toddlers, I would not recommend bringing a stroller, there are a lot of small stairwells that would make it difficult. They do have a parking lot and the option for a 10-minute walk or a shuttle bus to take you directly to and from the castle for 2 euros per person.

We wrapped up our evening with a little dinner at a brand new spot that opened up, Lounge Cafe Lifetime, so lovely. The atmosphere with perfect, sunsetting with the lights and the perfect music playing in the background.

Go and be there EARLY!
You should arrive no later than 8 am and be at the castle at 9 am. Else you're stuck in a very loooooong line.

This seems to be such an enchanting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!

I hope you have enjoyed your "LKW" (LeberKäseWeckla) [Breadroll with meatloaf and mustard] and your "Flammkuchen" (thin rolled out dough covered with creme fraiche, onions, and several icredients) and cooked like a pizza in an oven at high temperature.
They were delicious! I loved the one with peaches on it perfect for summer☀️

What a great castle and I agree I love learning about all the symbolism in the art when we travel as well. Were those peaches on the Flammkuchen?
They are actually apricots! So so good it was paired with goat cheese and some delicious herbs!
@@FaithMoncivais Oh delicious! I actually just discovered goat cheese with peaches in a salad and now I can't wait to go to my farmers market to recreate heaven on a plate again.

That would be awesome. But no you can’t. They were able to show us only some of the rooms because the Eltz family still occupies and lives in a part of the castle.

How does it feel to touch rocks, walking trails and see castles, that are much older than the U.S.?
It’s honestly so surreal! I love being able to see all the history over here!
Most every rock is older then the US.
