This was a great video, Steve. Thanks for posting it. I am 68, widowed and have 2 adult indoor cats. I've never lived in a senior community and am ambivalent about the idea. Living in a small town in Ohio, I've never had to give a lot of consideration to security issues. One thing for certain, I would NEVER live in an HOA community! I don't need someone to be sticking their nose into how I operate and live in my own home.
I know what you mean, Scott. Most people would prefer not to live in HOA communities. Unfortunately, here, Southern California almost all of the new home communities are HOA communities. 😳
Steve, we love your channel; I especially enjoy checking in with someone my same age - notwithstanding what I’m about to say. I’m 70 and my husband is 61; we’ve both been retired for over 10 years. We’ve never even considered moving into a senior community as we don’t personally think they’re socially healthy. We’ve always felt it far preferable when the ages can mix, as interaction with more junior generations tends to keep us younger, more vibrant and relevant. For example, our early-30-something daughter, who doesn’t live with us, keeps us on our toes and sometimes provides fresh perspectives that hadn’t occurred to us. As boomers, we can easily become set in our ways and forget what it would be like to be 18, or 20 or 30 in this challenging, difficult modern world. Conversely, we have the benefit of age and experience that can provide a deeper perspective on the past to current generations. Age diversity is a win all around.

While some may object to the various rules and regulations which haven't really changed significantly, I appreciate the fact that we have secured entrances as well as assigned parking lots where residents are required to furnish proof of registration and insurance prior to being issued a parking permit for the building's reserved lots. I also enjoy living in the tallest building in town with a fantastic view of our Main Street.
I think another thing that skewed the results of your survey is that most people 55 and over already own their house and dont want to move. I myself would love living in a 55+ community. I'm mostly a loner and all the built in social activity really depends on if you want to participate or not. But I paid off my house when I was 49 and I wouldn't want to start over.

I'm in Australia, and just last year, I moved into a 50+ residential village. The best thing is no nosey neighbour, it is really quiet, one main rd going through it with short streets going off it, so no cars going past all the time, no one speeding and squealing brakes. Everyone here is really friendly, wave as you pass in cars or if their walking past. No HOA's here, we own our homes but pay rent for land. We only need permission if we want to add to our homes, and their not all the same.
A 55+ community sounds advantageous for the right people. I don’t think I would go into a community that in any way restricts my relationship with my grandkids. If I didn’t have grandchildren, I would definitely consider a 55+ community. Hi Martin, how funny, I didn’t realize that. I’m glad you guys found a great country club community home. Your place looks terrific. Especially with all of the amazing Christmas lights. 😄🎄🌈👍

I looked into a senior community but I do not like "Rules".... I found that the communities had too many rules and they wanted to know too much regarding my personal and financial business. I do not like HOA's. Where I live there is an HOA but fortunately for me their rules are legally unenforceable so we tolerate each other. Most of my friends are dogs, I play my music loud and I ride a Harley Davidson. At 71 I don't worry about "Plays well with others". 😎
HOAs are in place for a reason. I have lived in an HOA community for 28 years and never have a problem. Plus our homes and front yards are meticulous thanks to our HOA.😮

Hi Chris, sorry you’ve had to go through this too. Thank you for sharing that with me. I will definitely ask my cardiologist in January. That is my next appointment and that would be awesome if I could get off the blood thinners. It’s only been about three months though. I think they told me I would have to be on all the medication’s for six months. I will definitely double check though. Thanks for the suggestion. Glad that you were able to get off of yours and that you are OK now. 😄👍
I live in a 55+ community. It's a mobile home park. It's a nice quiet neighborhood. People here tend to stay to themselves. We don't have any amenities. You can't have kids in a 55+ community. There are normal rules that you would follow in any community you live in. Only downside to living in the community I live in is the dog walkers sometimes forget to clean up after their dogs. They are not supposed to walk the dogs on the home lots. There is a dog park where they are allowed to walk them. But some of them just let them go anywhere. Mostly I would say I like living here.
My husband and are 60 and we can’t live in a gated, HOA, type of community because we have stuff! My husband still likes to work on his vehicles and not only that I don’t think we could deal with the busybody types. You mean those yappy little dogs aren’t allowed ?! Now that’s a plus 😆
Am happy on my 5.4 acres home on the side on a butte in C Oregon! An older population here on larger acreage-very happy! Good neighborhood not doing rumors or being A holes to others
Since I'm not the "social butterfly" type, I don't think I'd be able to live in a 55+ community like that. No HOA, constant activities they want you to join, being ruled and regulated into the ground, and every place looks like everyone else. No individuality. It would drive me batty!
Haven’t found my forever home yet. Current game plan is wait one year after I retire to see what retirement life is really like, then make a decision based on that. We do have a lot of 55+ communities in Phoenix and Tucson. Seems to me that the rules would really determine if a certain place would be good for me. 💙 Paul
I'm out don't want anybody telling me what I can and can't do, especially when I own the property. I think the community activity would be a big plus but nothing else.
Hi Steve...no don't live in a 55 plus and I really don't know much about them here...some people like them ..some don't......each to their own ..I guess.....have a great day..... cold ..windy ....here....take care...... Deborah 🇨🇦
Here in Phoenix the senior housing is east, north and west of where we live in Ahwatukee (South Phoenix). The most negative thing for me is I wouldn't be near my doctors' offices. Having thin blood will make you cold. My blood is thin from anemia, and I am cold when it's 80. 👋
That’s interesting to hear Alich. I would think that the 55+ communities would have built as close to the hospitals as possible. Sorry you have to deal with thin blood too. 🥶
I have been on blood thinners for years and I can't tolerate the cold weather at all! Living in Minnesota can be tricky, lol! As far as housing goes, Minnesota has incredible but overwhelming options. There are individual homes, townhomes, condos and apartments. Some you have to buy and others are rental. One thing you have to be careful about is what care they offer. While most offer some cleaning services and minimal patient care services but if you require more care, you can't stay there. Others offer full services including end of life care and those are usually the best option w. There you can stay while being totally independent through end of life care. There are a lot of various HOA and you have to really be careful. While I worked in hospice care, I always felt so sorry for people who had to be moved two or three times in a short period of time at the end of their lives 😢. Lov3 to you and Jim and have a great day! ❤️😊
Omg, our 1st home out there was at our Seasons. I loved my home there, but no yard, not many things to do. Didn’t really feel like much of a community. We left and are now very happy at Del Web Sun City, so many options of things to do.
In 55+ communities, ambulances do not use sirens to not upset the residents. In New Jersey, there is a retirement community known locally as Prune City.
On blood thinners. I didn't know l had a blood disorder until l got a massive one in my right leg. I walked around on it for 2 or 3 weeks. It was right before Christmas and I wanted to wait till after the holidays. My mother was in the hospital so l was really on the go. It hurt really really bad! I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I would get off my feet and the swelling would go down and not hurt as bad. Long story short l did go to the Dr. She took one look and l was told to go straight to the ER that l had a blood clot! I still didn't have a clue about blood clots. Well I ended up in the hospital for over a week. Missed all of Christmas. I now know to not mess around with my blood thinners! I was on warfrin at first and now I'm on pradaxa . I haven't had a blood clot in over 15 yrs! I got totally off the subject didn't l😅 A 55 plus community does have its pro and cons! Sorry l got on a roll with blood thinners and this was so long! Take care Steve and have a Merry Christmas! ❤
Had to chuckle on the temp. I Start running at 4:30 am, here in North Carolina it was 14 degrees. You have to start off cold, then you warm up. I also walk 3 miles with some older friends, then I freeze for sure, even after adding a lot more clothing. I sure envy your temps out there. Enjoy!!
I'm a little surprised that Jim wanted to live in a 55+ community. He seems rather...self-contained , as it were, and not in need of endless interference.
My Grandparents lived at Del Webb's Sun City here in So. Cal. At the time there was nothing arround, now everything is filled in!! I memorized their address 29660 Pebble Beach......oh, well some one else lives there now!! My partner and I live where I grew up .
Palm Springs looks gorgeous. I hope to visit one day. Steve, have you tried wearing thermals in the cold mornings when you walk? I have major spine damage and central nervous system damage. The weather affects my body and I find wearing thermals help mobility issues caused by the cold. If my son had his way he would move to Palm Springs from Australia he is obsessed with the mid century houses in your desert paradise. How do the locals feel about the Disney estate being built?
Thanks for the suggestion, Michelle. I will try that. It’s funny, because Jim really wanted to move to Australia years ago. 😄 I think the only controversy about the Disney development is the huge lake and all the water they are using in the center of the community. Other than that, I’m sure most people are probably excited about it. 😄👍
Well you just cleared up why I feel cold all the time. I’ve been on blood thinners since my open heart surgery in September also and I’m just always cold and my husband just cannot figure out why I’m cold when he doesn’t feel it’s cold. My husband and I wanted look into 55 and older communities but where we live in Texas there’s just nothing viable except for some apartments that were pretty small and very expensive when we looked at them and are for much lower income than us. So that dream died fast. We’re just going to stay put and figure that’s just not for us! We both really like the idea of being in a place where there was lots of fun activities and people our age and so it’s a big disappointment to not have that option available to us and also be able to stay where we are, close to our kids and grandkids. So if a viable option became available in our area is definitely something we would at least look into.
Hi Stephanie, sorry you’ve had to deal with blood thinners too. And sorry to hear you don’t have more options for 55+ living near your family. Hopefully something will come up in the future or you will find another option that works well for you guys. Best of luck. 🤞👍
We have a lot of retirement communities here in Hemet both actual homes and mobile home parks. They had a lot of law suits in the early 90s of people who ended up with their grand kids. Some ended up changing rules while others became stricter. We never really considered it.
Nope, don’t live in an official 55+ community, but lived 40 years across town in a regular house on city street. Several years back we moved to a condo specifically looking for a unit on a single level without stairs or steps because one of us were starting to have mobility issues. It is the 1st time either of us has lived in a place with a HOA, but because there are lots of functioning committees to make recommendations to the board (and the board is very respectful of the hard work & recommendations made by committees) it generally works. There is a real mix of who lives here (retirees, engineers, teachers, UPS driver, utility workers, nurses, a couple of Drs, artists, accountants, tradespeople, professors, city workers, accountants, realtors, you name it) there is a high level of skill on those committees. I’ve seen the kids of friends grow up here, go off to college (and return during Covid), and young couples start families. These days there is a group of LGBTQ couples here, & everyone celebrates pride in June at a party & BBQ (BYOmeat or grillables) down by the pool & clubhouse. While I’ve visited friends that live in 55+ communities, can’t say they were very attractive to me.
As a 67 yo I find living in a city with 20-somethings keeps me young. I feel older when surrounded with old folks. My motto is "don't let the old man in".
Great video. Gary and I do live in a 55+. It's a small one and, fortunately. so far we have no Gladys Kravitz types. It's VERY quiet. I've lived in HOA's with what I call "Condo Nazis" in the past, so I was a bit skeptical. Fortunately, we've had no issues; yet. Thanks Steve.
building I live in is for 55 and up, some exceptions we do have a few tenants are in their 30s, no restrictions here, some of us have pets small dog or cat, children are welcome here, its quiet, everyone is decent neighbourly and friendly
Not a place for me. I’m friendly but I like my time for resting and my Family. I don’t think I could handle too much socializing with to many people. Maybe years back but now I’m 72 and I enjoy my alone time as well. 😊👍❤️
I'm visiting Bryson City NC to ride the Polar Express with my sister for our birthday. Its the same day but she's 4 years older AND we married brothers! Brother it is 27° up here !!! Beautiful tho!! Hey to Jim👋👋😎😎
Steve, buy a cheap drone and send it over the wall instant access or go to an estate sale in the 55+ and drive around a bit. Try goggling "why do I feel cold all the time"? plenty of possible causes pop up.
Hi Mark, good idea, but it kind of feels like spine on people when you fly over their houses. I only started getting cold the day after I started taking the blood thinners, so I assume it was probably that. But thanks for the suggestion. I’m sure it could be other things too. 👍
The 55+ communities around our area always have homes for sale. The reason? Because one spouse died and the surviving spouse can not afford to pay the ever increasing lot rent. Bad investment.
Be glad you didn’t. My N-laws did and the fees go up all the time. Nothing you can do about it. So many people are waiting for these houses. The club house & walking trails are fantastic.
Only thing I noticed was the four seasons development is nextdoor to a not so great part town. I know it's gated but it kinda needs to be, was what I was thinking
My husband and I sold our house and decided to buy a Rv and live in it. Such a mistake we made at our age being 64 and 65. Some people love it, but just not for us. So trying to figure out what to do at our age.
Thanks for sharing that with us, Karen. It seems like it would be awesome, but sometimes reality is not as much fun as it seems to be when you watch people doing this on RUclips. It’s great that you tried it though. At least now you know. Better luck with your next place. 🤞👍
I won’t be 55 till February and my hubby just turned 66 two days ago. So we can’t live in one either, plus my two Adult sons live with us. But we do have 55+ communities here in SC
I don't think I'd be happy in a busy 55+ community. The one thing I value since retiring is the freedom to explore what I desire. I guess my more true hermit self came out. I am not interested in living on a golf course or with rules around who can visit, but I love being surrounded by the beauty of nature and kind folks who care for each other. Since I do have a nerve condition that limits my ability to walk, as I get older I am considering moving to an area with more services. I've had friends at assisted living and over 55 gated communities. Even though they paid for the services, they rarely took part in the scheduled gatherings at the gym, golf course, tennis, pool, book clubs, movies, etc., but did their own thing. (One felt they were treated as not friendly but he didn't care, his friends lived outside the gates). Since you are paying for these activities up front, I'd prefer to be in a community of hermits so let me know if there is one in the Palm Springs area! 😂
Ooohh! A ‘new’ retirement village has opened up near where I live. It’s for over 45s… plus the new owners evicted all the owners/renters of the static caravans on site with about 2 months notice!! I can assure you, the locals are not happy with this caravan site and I enjoy asking the bots questions about the site. Like is there a nite club? A pub?? Is there a skate park/play park?? What?? I’ve got a 4 year old grandson! (I’m 46) Asked about having people staying over, can we have raves?? Seriously?? Advertising a static caravan site for ‘over 45s’ knowing full well that where we live it’s literally going to be a street drinking, boombox bassy loud alternative/metal music. Just like we did when we were 14!! The site is a joke! X
I think it would be nice a lot of positive and negative I can understand rules of 55 plus community here in Texas they are built on land that is separated from regular subdivisions a lot of gated 55 plus communities here in north Texas seems more apartments one couple moved from our subdivision about a year ago in a 55 plus communities apartment I think it’s what works for your family they were excited about living there very low maintenance
Most definitely our neighbors that moved over a year ago also said they wanted to be near people their age group my husband and I moved in our home in our thirty’s
I'm on the fence about it. I love privacy and would not tolerate busybodies! I also don't want to pay HOA fees on top of property taxes. But, I like the idea of a quieter neighborhood.
Would you want your next door neighbor for example to have several cars parked on blocks in the front yard or to have a hoarding situation in the back yard? Probably not.
@ Had that situation, go it taken are of by my city ordinance officer, that’s what the police are for. Still would not want the restrictions imposed by an HOA at a 55+ community.
@@samueljaramillo4221 What exactly do you do that would be problematic for an HOA community? Do you have ten cars parked out front in various states of repair? Hoarding?
@@kennixox262 I am not a hoarder,I don’t collect cars. I am gardener including my front yard. And I won’t have anyone dictating on how my yard should look. Don’t you get it no HOA! Now get lost!
I don’t live at a 55+ community so I really can’t recommend one. I would suggest going online and searching 55+ community in the Palm Springs area and all of the real estate websites will show you what’s available. Or you could contact a real estate agent out here who could help you. There are so many options that you will have to figure out what are the most important things for you and then that will narrow down your search to the best places for you. Good luck in your search. 🤞👍
I live in a 55 plus rv park yet new owner is letting younger people in. If they start letting kids in i am going to be upset cause i can't handle screaming kids i like quite.
"Built in friends." If you are like the majority of people. If not, it can be pretty isolating. Believe me, I've heard horror stories of those that dont "fit the mold." You couldn't pay me.
Hmm, where I live there are 99% older people, living in their own house, garden, car, etc. 1 dog, but I never hear him and no children here. It's very, very quiet here. There are rules and regulations at what times you can mow your lawn, etc. But that is everywhere in Germany. 🙂
No community for me Steve my neighbor hood has a pretty good mix of different age groups we all have dogs so that’s nice but it’s a quiet area to 😂 it’s 32 here burr I’ll trade ya 😂
I didn't answer the survey, but I'm a "NO" also. Steve, Is your house on Indian Land, do you have to pay rent on it, or do you own the land with the house? How does that Indian owned land process work down there, do you know ?
Hi Spencer, no Indian lease for us. We own our land. The city of Palm Springs is divided in a the checkerboard grid. The Indians own half of the checkerboard, so if you buy property on their land, you have to pay a lease fee. Yeah like you say, you don’t own the land your house is on. The lease is usually for 100 years and then it gets renewed.
I definitely would not move to a 55+ community. We have several in my area and I associate them with busy bodies watching your every move. I also don't want to be surrounded by people all a certain age. I do like diversity and seeing young families. I also like my privacy so I don't want to be involved in a bunch of activities in my neighborhood. I do like peace and quiet but a good neighborhood can provide enough of that for me.

"Sometimes forget" that's a nice way of putting it.
Sadly, a dog owners let their dogs go everywhere and yeah, don’t pick up after them in every community! 😩 glad you like your community otherwise. 😄👍
Lol they definitely aren’t for everyone! 😆
Yappy dogs must be allowed per ADA laws!😮
Am happy on my 5.4 acres home on the side on a butte in C Oregon! An older population here on larger acreage-very happy! Good neighborhood not doing rumors or being A holes to others
That sounds pretty ideal Ann! 😄👍
Since I'm not the "social butterfly" type, I don't think I'd be able to live in a 55+ community like that. No HOA, constant activities they want you to join, being ruled and regulated into the ground, and every place looks like everyone else. No individuality. It would drive me batty!
Lol yeah, communities like this are definitely not for everyone! 😳😂
42°, oh my it was 22° when I got up this morning. I had to walk the dog in it. I miss those desert temps SOMETIMES. I do like the cold weather though
Yikes, that is way too cold. 🥶
Haven’t found my forever home yet. Current game plan is wait one year after I retire to see what retirement life is really like, then make a decision based on that. We do have a lot of 55+ communities in Phoenix and Tucson. Seems to me that the rules would really determine if a certain place would be good for me. 💙 Paul
That sounds very smart of you, Paul! 😄👍
I'm out don't want anybody telling me what I can and can't do, especially when I own the property. I think the community activity would be a big plus but nothing else.
👍
Great video
Thanks for sharing all of that with us, Connie. It’s nice to have so many options. 👍
😂😂prune city😂😂😂
In Ventura County there is one known locally as Seizure Village.
😂😂😂
😆
LOL 😳😂
Omg Anne, how scary! So glad you got to the hospital on time I thought you were OK now. Merry Christmas to you and yours too. 😄👍
@steveinpalmspringsca ❤️ and hugs to you
Had to chuckle on the temp. I Start running at 4:30 am, here in North Carolina it was 14 degrees. You have to start off cold, then you warm up. I also walk 3 miles with some older friends, then I freeze for sure, even after adding a lot more clothing. I sure envy your temps out there. Enjoy!!
OMG Robin, you are brave. I can’t even imagine that! 😳🥶😂
I'm a little surprised that Jim wanted to live in a 55+ community. He seems rather...self-contained , as it were, and not in need of endless interference.
I think he just liked the idea of it being quiet lol. 😄👍
Steve 23 degrees in Gettysburg this morning I take blood thinners I'm always cold I'm 69 behind you 1 year love you ❤
Yikes, 23° and blood thinners! 🥶 I hope you guys have a nice warm fireplace Alex! 😄👍
I do alot of window cleaning jobs there in Four Seasons! Good people!
What a small world. 👍
My Grandparents lived at Del Webb's Sun City here in So. Cal.
At the time there was nothing arround, now everything is filled in!!
I memorized their address 29660 Pebble Beach......oh, well some one else lives there now!!
My partner and I live where I grew up .
Thanks for sharing that memory with us W! 😎👍
The biggest drawback are the monthly HOA fees with 55 plus communities
I agree, that’s a big one! 😳
I prefer the cold to the heat, but I get so so sore or pained from it.
I wish you where my neighbor you seem very comfortable to be around
Hi Sue, yes, that is a very popular area for 55+ communities. That’s interesting about the lawsuits. Thanks for sharing that with us. 👍
Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m glad you found a place that works for you! That sounds pretty ideal Karin! 😄👍
Cold & ice fog ! In the high desert Oregon! Burr!
Yikes 🥶
As a 67 yo I find living in a city with 20-somethings keeps me young. I feel older when surrounded with old folks. My motto is "don't let the old man in".
😄👍
Great video. Gary and I do live in a 55+. It's a small one and, fortunately. so far we have no Gladys Kravitz types. It's VERY quiet. I've lived in HOA's with what I call "Condo Nazis" in the past, so I was a bit skeptical. Fortunately, we've had no issues; yet. Thanks Steve.
That’s awesome to hear. Sounds like you guys lucked out. 😄👍
building I live in is for 55 and up, some exceptions we do have a few tenants are in their 30s, no restrictions here, some of us have pets small dog or cat, children are welcome here, its quiet, everyone is decent neighbourly and friendly
That sounds really nice Cath. Kind of the best of both worlds. 😄👍
I would live in a 55 plus !
Not a place for me. I’m friendly but I like my time for resting and my Family. I don’t think I could handle too much socializing with to many people. Maybe years back but now I’m 72 and I enjoy my alone time as well. 😊👍❤️
I guess you have the security and you can be as social as you want to be. You can join in activities or not,you can please yourself😊
I get that Linda 😄👍
👍
Not too long-ago Palm springs had construction done on the first 3-D printed homes in a small community.
I haven’t heard about that. That’s fascinating. Thanks for the heads up John!
@@steveinpalmspringsca Your welcome and the community is called Rancho Mirage if you wanted to check it out.
I'm visiting Bryson City NC to ride the Polar Express with my sister for our birthday. Its the same day but she's 4 years older AND we married brothers! Brother it is 27° up here !!! Beautiful tho!! Hey to Jim👋👋😎😎
How funny and how fun Pam! 😄👍
I think Jim would make a good HOA President.
Lol, why, because he’s a grinch? 😆
No community for me. To many negatives to state 😅
The 55+ communities around our area always have homes for sale. The reason? Because one spouse died and the surviving spouse can not afford to pay the ever increasing lot rent. Bad investment.
Yikes, that’s sad. 🙁
Be glad you didn’t. My N-laws did and the fees go up all the time. Nothing you can do about it. So many people are waiting for these houses. The club house & walking trails are fantastic.
Thanks for sharing that Tex. Sorry for your in-laws. 🙁
I'm sure you are glad to have your sons at home! 😄👍
@ Yes it helps us and them with the prices of everything these days. They are good kids! I was blessed.
The biggest plus about 55+ communities are the golf carts!
Lol I agree, Dan 😆👍
We don't have 55 plus communities here. We have regular houses and apartments or assisted living/nursing homes
LOL Jim would definitely love to live in a community of hermits too! 😂 if we find one, we will let you know! 😆👍
One on the west has a pool and bathroom
That's what I thought. Thanks Todd!
Asked about having people staying over, can we have raves??
Seriously?? Advertising a static caravan site for ‘over 45s’ knowing full well that where we live it’s literally going to be a street drinking, boombox bassy loud alternative/metal music. Just like we did when we were 14!!
The site is a joke! X
WOW! :-O
Yes, lo mein is definitely a plus. 👍
I agree with you Mar! 👍
Good morning Steve, we wouldn’t live in a 55+ community. To many restrictions. I don’t want any restrictions on my home and property.
I totally get that Samuel. 👍
Would you want your next door neighbor for example to have several cars parked on blocks in the front yard or to have a hoarding situation in the back yard? Probably not.
@
Had that situation, go it taken are of by my city ordinance officer, that’s what the police are for. Still would not want the restrictions imposed by an HOA at a 55+ community.
@@samueljaramillo4221 What exactly do you do that would be problematic for an HOA community? Do you have ten cars parked out front in various states of repair? Hoarding?
@@kennixox262
I am not a hoarder,I don’t collect cars. I am gardener including my front yard. And I won’t have anyone dictating on how my yard should look. Don’t you get it no HOA! Now get lost!
I’m 65 but no way would I ever want to be trapped with a bunch of old people. No HOA ever.
So much better than bratty kids, and 20 something druggies😮
Lol 😂
Hi Steve I'm retired and have a small condo in La Habra and thinking about Palm Springs. Can you recommend any over 55 plus community?
I don’t live at a 55+ community so I really can’t recommend one. I would suggest going online and searching 55+ community in the Palm Springs area and all of the real estate websites will show you what’s available. Or you could contact a real estate agent out here who could help you. There are so many options that you will have to figure out what are the most important things for you and then that will narrow down your search to the best places for you. Good luck in your search. 🤞👍
Thank you
On a different topic, have you been to Grill-A-Burger in Palm Desert? Guy Fieri says it's the best restaurant in California!
No, but thanks for the heads up Dan! 😄👍
I live in a 55 plus rv park yet new owner is letting younger people in. If they start letting kids in i am going to be upset cause i can't handle screaming kids i like quite.
Fingers crossed that doesn’t happen Dorothra! 🤞
"Built in friends." If you are like the majority of people. If not, it can be pretty isolating. Believe me, I've heard horror stories of those that dont "fit the mold."
You couldn't pay me.
My Cousin bought into a 55 plus and it turned into an HOA young folks moved in and it turned awful.
Oh no, sorry to hear that Lisa! 🙁
Hmm, where I live there are 99% older people, living in their own house, garden, car, etc. 1 dog, but I never hear him and no children here. It's very, very quiet here. There are rules and regulations at what times you can mow your lawn, etc. But that is everywhere in Germany. 🙂
That sounds pretty ideal Ingrid 😄👍
I don’t like HOA Karens. I much prefer having my roommates, Dorothy, Rose and Sophia. 😅
😆👍
Or Gladys Kravitz across the street. 🙂
No Hoa"s for us.
No community for me Steve my neighbor hood has a pretty good mix of different age groups we all have dogs so that’s nice but it’s a quiet area to 😂 it’s 32 here burr I’ll trade ya 😂
Sounds like you have a nice neighborhood, Jackie. Sounds cold though lol! 🥶
Thanks for sharing with us Tammy! 👍
Just a baby back in the day…. 15 yrs
I'd consider it if they have a Pickleball league, lol.
I’m sure a lot of them do. 😄👍
I rent a unit (house) in a triplex and prefer that. I dislike HOA's.
Hi Steve and Hello from Las Vegas.... I wouldn't benefit from a 55+ not into all those activities
PSCC has zero sense of community. I think it depends on HOA leadership. It’s def one thing I did not like about the Palm Springs “Country Club”
That's sad to hear Michael. :-(
@ yeah. You only find out later… on top of it we have one homeowner who is a terrorizer… but he apparently is leaving year-end… we shall see…
I lived in a 55+ for 5 years. Too many rules. No thank you.
Wind turbines are very very ugly.
