    My head canon to this day says that temporal war tech is more advanced then then Disco 32nd century tech. I like to think that during the temporal era tech took a huge leap and went in a different direction. They then for the sake of peace had to completely abandon all the advances and actually go back to pre- temporal era tech and start advancing again hence the dependence on dilithium and standard warp and the radically different look of the ships. The new leap in tech instead of temporal was programmable matter. Just my own head canon.

    • @greystarthedragon7124
      @greystarthedragon7124 Год назад +2

      This is 100% the case in my head Canon as well! The old temporal tech would be like giving an old TOS Connie quantum torpedoes and a multiphasic shield array and telling it to fight an excelsior or ambassador class. The hull may not be as strong but the offenses and defenses make up for it and could easily take out a more advanced ship

Also, this version of the Tempest is from 2920 and the purple beams are chroniton lances. It can also fire torps under cloak and has Transcendental Rodinium ablative armor which acts as a fourth dimensional non Newtonian fluid

    I don't think it looks like a 29th century ship, more like a modified 24th century Sovereign. Also i personally don't think it should have won against Voyager-J, although we cannot really grasp what kind of weapons were used in the future, even if it is 300 years before the J

    @davidprinzing8059 Год назад

    Very cool looking, but way overpowered. The only way it makes sense is if the temporal cold war ended with this design being gone after the win (due to causality).
    From a storyline perspective, having this ship exist with this level of power is a bit like trying to deal with the transphasic torpedoes issue. It's too powerful to exist within the story and keep it interesting. However, the ship design is super cool and I'd love to see more of it.

    • @greystarthedragon7124
      @greystarthedragon7124 Год назад

      The temporal tech was more advanced than the tech of the 32nd century. When it was banned, the federation was regressed a little

    • @davidprinzing8059
      @davidprinzing8059 Год назад

      @@greystarthedragon7124 That doesn't make a lot of sense if the tech of the 32nd century is fundamentally alien looking whereas the tech involved in the temporal cold war was still familiar in look and feel. Familiarity is due to building on old designs and improving them, but alien looking design means a different foundational premise which means significantly more advanced if you are talking about designs fully adopted over centuries.
      However, if causality forced the loss of significant technology and development paths, that would make sense, however it's still difficult to believe that that loss is more than 300 years worth, especially considering the weapons development from the 29th to 32nd century is the biggest power leap out of all technology leaps that we've seen so far.

    • @greystarthedragon7124
      @greystarthedragon7124 Год назад

      @@davidprinzing8059 this is true, however the detached nacells and different look was caused the the discovery of programmable matter and bioneutronium composite hulls. We also have to take into account the burn. The burn happened in 3069, which halted any kind of large scale research and development, so it's actually 31st century tech, so by that logic we can assume ships started getting programmed with programmable matter and detached nacells in the late 30th or early 31st century. Temporal tech would have an advantage over the 30th century tech. The tempest itself (or at least the version I released) was refit 2920 as a temporal dreadnought flagship. It has a refractive temporal shield grid and transcendental rodinium armor, basically making a 4D armor that folds in on itself and acts as a non Newtonian fluid. The temporal phasic torpedoes it carries rip shields apart by folding subspace. The tachyon bursts, phased diffusive and x quantums are standard torpedoes. The x quantums are standard advanced quantums, the phased diffusive torpedoes are phasing hyperplastic torpedoes and the tachyon bursts simply use an inwards explosion of hypercharged tachyons to punch through a ship like a knife through paper. It also has an anti-tetryon array and a fore and aft chroniton lances that can distort and rip through most shield types, using modified, neo phasing chroniton bursts. The 32nd century ships use a kind of dark matter shielding and quantum beam arrays. That seems to be a quite a downgrade from 29th-30th century tech.

    • @davidprinzing8059
      @davidprinzing8059 Год назад

      @@greystarthedragon7124 That may be so, but that's all just general lore. If it's general lore, why is this the only 29th century vessel to win hands down against a 32nd century vessel? If you were talking about ship specific lore, I might be less skeptical, which is why I was thinking that the story would work if causality played a factor.

    • @keyboardt8276
