Mine is just about finished. I had to adjust the height to match my particular miter saw top cutting height to be the same as my big workbench and my table saw.......my shop is confined (12 x 20) so when I lay a long board on the miter saw it may need to cross over my bench or table saw. Now....I bought the locking wheels recommended in the video.....but I should have gone larger....the small wheels will not roll well if going out onto the lawn area or other unpaved surfaces. Finally, I am making an electrical wire (from my saw) holder....I unplug my saws when not in use and do not like loosly hanging wires. Finally be careful about placement and things that get in the way of miter saw rotation.
Thanks for posting. Lookin g forward to building this. A few questions…..can we use regular screws instead of self tapping screws? And it looks like you didn’t use a counter sink drill bit. Any issues with doing that for this project (especially if we don’t have an impact drill)?
Thank you for this tutorial and the plans. I purchased the plans as I wanted one of these for my miter saw. Asked my dad if he wanted to do a project with me (it’s just something we do together). Ofcourse he said yes. Showed him your video and he said he wanted one too. So we made one for myself and him. Ty so much for sharing. It was a good father daughter project.
Just got done building it.Due to the high cost of two by fours right now I used to by threes. I’m sure it’s strong enough. I also use the Craig jig for the but joints with glue. For the brackets are used lag bolts.
I've been looking at miter saw stands on YT for months. I finally decided on yours for it's simplicity. I need to just go ahead and get this made. It'll allow me to start to tackle so many more of the projects I want to do. I bought the lumber & Cut List plans from your website. Very well organized! Can't wait to start. Thank you!
I just got done building mine It looks amazing, however since this was my first build I didn’t do great job picking up the lumber so I did have minor challenges at the end but I overcame them and the finale results are great!! Thanks for sharing those plans
I just want to say how awesome and how informative this was for me, am trying to get into wood working and been thinking about how to build a minor saw table, after watching numerous videos I concluded that yours was the easiest and most effective, I wish I can send you a picture, I followed everything you said and I cannot be more happier with this table
I used your design and it came out pretty good. The only problem is something you alluded to in the video. The 12" brackets aren't, at least in my case, strong enough. After about two weeks they started bending. But your one of the few people on line who isnt trying to rip people off and I commend you for it.
Something like this with T-tracks, I have the Seneca ones with a 3D printed stop and measuring rules. I have to occasionally move it to put down the attic stairs in the garage.
Awesome video. I am planning on making one for my miter saw. Is the wing height able to match up to the miter saw base so your work is level? Thank you
Yep, just make sure to attach the brackets at the correct height so the wings are level with the saw tabletop when they're extended. Just depends where you attach the brackets
Love it! Something even a novice like me can make that will be very useful. The only change I'll make is to put a backstop behind the miter area so I can push the saw all the way back and not worry about it sliding off (because I am prone to do stupid things like that....).
New shop and I was browsing Pinterest for design ideas and came across this. Excellent design. I've been debating on how I wanted my cabinets and this solves all of my design dilemmas. Thank you.
Brilliant! I don't have a miter saw yet, but I will make this and hang all my tools on the sides and the insides and use it as a mobile tool holder. Very clear and thank you for the plans. Well done and all the best!
Love the design. Had the most awful time getting the brackets installed to line up properly. They would always be off and the wing would never close flat. Like they were installed crooked? Also this was my first project so im sure i was doing something wrong of course. One thing i will mention is that I have a Hitachi chop saw and i was under the assumption that all the chop saw decks were the same height. I finally got everything built and set my saw on the stand and when i raised the wings up, my saw was almost 3 inches taller then the wing was. Is there a calculation you could suggest to give me the actual measurement needed so my deck of the saw is flush with the folding wings? Im a beginner so was a lot of trial and error on my part but thats how we learn. Great choice on the brackets they are plenty strong to support the wings.
The brackets do have to be pretty exact in order to close properly. I loosened them up a little along the vertical side when I attached the wings so I had some wiggle room to get them lined up nice and square, then I tightened them back down. I did have to shim one of them where the 2x4 leg had a little divet in order to get it square. Just takes a little finagling. To measure the height of the saw tabletop: I set the saw on a flat surface, laid a board across the saw tabletop, and measured from the work table surface up to the bottom of the board. Hope that helps!
Great video. Took a look at her website, as well - informative. Decided to build this since it resolved some issues I currently deal with. I bought the cut list and plans. At $2.99 that was well worth it, plus it felt right to reward Tylinn for her efforts even if it’s a small amount. Trickiest part was getting the height of the wings to match the saw height. That’s easy enough to calculate but life isn’t as accurate as that. Saving grace was being able to shim the saw when mounting it in place. Used the completed project for the first time today. Worked great, and the wings provide me with much needed working space. I don’t have a workshop - just a garage. So, having eight more square feet of horizontal workspace was fantastic.
Guess who's an idiot that decided to make everything square and went with 2x2 measurements on everything to save some space, not thinking about 45 and 60* miter positions??? Surely it wasn't me... :D I measured the width of my saw, not thinking of the swing. Thankfully I only have the center section built and can easily rip 4 new 2.5" boards.... Should have stuck with the plans..... Live and learn!
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing. I built this and I am very pleased with the results. I added some T-tracks to clamp the wood and rules. Thanks again for the video
Good job! Much better on the music volume of this video. Did the height of the miter saw just happen to be the correct height for the outfeed tables or did you have to do any shimming? I went ahead and subscribed, good luck on your RUclips channel! Do you have any channel stickers, If so I’d like to swap?
Thanks! I just lined the brackets up so that the outfeed tables sit at the correct height for the saw (mine is 3 5/8"). I don't have any stickers as of now, but I might have to get some!
Great build Ty-Lynn! I saw your build and instantly knew I had to model my new sliding miter saw station to this! I have run into one issue in my build and wanted to find out if you have any drop in the wings which makes the cutting surface un-leveled. The further from the saw I get the more drop I get, so much so I am debating on adding some sort of leaf to level the wings out...or something
I had a little drop in them the other day when I was trying to cut a long 1x10 on it, but other than that I haven't had any issues. I think it was the weight of the bigger board. I put some scrap 1/4" trim pieces under the 1x10 at the very end of the wing and that worked out to hold it level. A leaf would help, or you could try some of the bigger collapsible brackets (but I know those get a little spendy).
Great build!! I built this from your plans a couple weeks ago and am very happy with the build. I plan on enclosing the base for my air compressor to maximize the space. Working from my garage and the ability to move this and my two benches out of the way for the car is great. Thank you.
I just got the same saw (Delta Cruzer) yesterday as an early birthday present, started looking for ideas to build a mobile miter station, and yours came up by coincidence. I'll be building myself one now! I'll be subbing your channel now too!
I recently made this miter saw, I added in an additional shelf, added a top border perimeter for the miter saw, real tight fit, I like the collapsible wings and definitely a space saver.
This is fantastic. Thank you ! I use my garage in which I have just started wood working. I share the space with two motorcycles and a home gym so have very little space . This is the first mitre saw station video I can figure out as its straight forward and the way you explain things is great. You just got another subscriber. Great work
Hello Tylynn, since your video is ~3 years old,I was wondering if you have any problems with the wings sagging on the mobile miter saw stand. And if so, or not, have you made any improvements since? Thanks. Steve
I just built this and love it but one question. My side wings won’t fold flush, wondering if I put brackets in wrong or I’m not folding them correctly?
Well done. Your video's are clear and concise, not too much chatter and you show details well. You web site is first rate and the plans the same. The only suggestion I would make is to reference parts like wheels, etc. on Amazon or some other site so it can easily be found; otherwise I give it an A+ for effort and completion!
Buenos días Soy poncho de México me gustan tus videos y he querido obtener tus planos y no puedo me los pondrías mandar te lo agradecería mucho. Te felicito es muy clara tu explicación con todo respeto le hago llegar un cordial saludo
There is good info on this channel, I have your plans in my cart and I am about to get the stuff from Amazon with your affiliate links... but a there is huge lack of interaction and responses when questions are asked... it's a shame.
Hi I am just finishing the miter saw table. I am having problems with the fold down part not folding all the way down. Any tips and thanks for the plans.
Thanks for sharing. How did you figure the height of the wings in the up position in relation to the table portion of the miter saw? I would think you'd want them exactly the same to support your work piece without flexing? Thx
This will be my first time building something and i want to build this because i love this idea. My question is, to maximize space in my garage can I drawers in the middle of the bench?
What a great build. I may do the same. I've used 2x4s in a lot of my builds in the past, but I've found them a bit overkill for many projects. I now use 2x3s for many of my projects now. A bit cheaper and lighter.
Well done!! Was going with another design until i just happened to see this on the side...watched it, loved the idea, built the frame today and will get the brackets, partical board and casters. I did make mine a bit taller. Thanks for sharing!! Great job!!
Hola soy poncho de la ciudad de México me gusto mucho tu video bien explicado y queri pedirte si me mandas tus planos o medidas acabo de comprar una sierra angular
No video and great free hand.. How strong are those brackets ? Do you know the total weight they can handle. I want to make a wall mounted fold down bench with 4 of those brackets taking the weight
Hi, great video. Loved your plan the best. Im actually going to build this today. I picked up my first chop saw yesterday. Question. I always have bad luck with wood screws because i think the metal is too soft and i usually end up stripping the screw-head before they are all the way seated. I noticed you are using construction grade screws? Is there a difference between wood screws? Can i use deck screws or should i pre-drill holes first before applying the screws? Maybe i'm using the wrong Phillips head bit on my drill? Not sure. Im just a beginner. Sorry for so many questions.
I've had bad luck with wood screws too. These construction Spax ones seem to do ok with the 2x4s, but I've had issues with them on anything bigger. I'm going to try out some power pro torx head ones and see how that goes. You can find them at Home Depot
New subscriber! I just finished building this stand using your plans and video. Both were so helpful and easy to follow. Thank you! This stand was exactly what I needed. I would bet that you're selling a lot of brackets and wheels for those companies. If you haven't done so already, you should create your own Amazon links through Amazon’s affiliate marketing program so that you can earn your well deserved commission. I'm looking forward to your future projects!
2:47 - in case you haven't already discovered them, you might appreciate a recommendation I just heard in v=6739bWT7jSA (a bit over 3 minutes in) to use screws with star bits (e.g. GRK in that video's recommendation, though I know I've found similar from other brands, as well), because Philips screws (which I see you were using when you made this) were specifically designed to slip (as a way to limit torque), and thus have to have lots of pressure to keep them from slipping, whereas the star drive (originally Torx, now generic) transmits torque well with only enough pressure needed to keep the driver and screw engaged with each other. Super handy!
That's excellent but you made need an attache case to help you with all the attaching maybe even attach the attache case to the bench after all the attaching I'm quite exhausted I'm going for a lie down lol
I've watched a bunch of videos on miter saw benches. I don't want/need side wings the length of airport runways and I do want mobility. THIS ONE CAPTURED MY VISION NEARLY PERFECTLY! Good job. One detail: You never mentioned how you handled the process of matching the height of the wings with the level of the deck of the miter saw. Two video production thoughts: Use a lav mic when doing audio in the garage and dial down the music. Good luck with your channel.
Hello, I have a 2 car garage that I have made into my shop... and I have built a 4'x8' rolling workbench and a lumber storage, so needless to say, anything else I build has to be as compact as possible.... I was so tired of lifting my miter saw up on my workbench, then moving again to use the workbench, and so on back and forth.... so, I came across your video while researching options for a miter saw station..... and less than 24 hours later, I have exactly what I not only wanted but needed.... I was going to put my own spin on it, but yours hit all the marks...... I especially like how the folding wings are wide enough to accommodate 2x12's.... I did go with 16" brackets, but kept everything else to your specs....... so, thank you and I'll follow for more.... 🙏😁💪
Ciao! Mi sono iscritta al tuo canale, fa sempre piacere vedere una donna a interessarsi a questi lavori 😉, se vuoi dare un occhiata al mio canale puoi cliccare sul mio logo! Grazie ciao e a presto!
I just built your table saw work bench yesterday! Purchasing your supply, cut list, and directions was totally worth it! Thank you!
Thank you!
Nice! I just dropped $600 on a fast cap stand. But I do a lot of finish carpentry with long material, and I’m always on the move.
Thanks is very cool design and build. I’m going to be attempting this soon.
Great build!!
I’d put a T track for stop blocks but otherwise, amazing
Nice job!

I just finished my build on Sunday. and I LOVE it!!! Thank you for the plans and lumber/cut list.
very nice design - simple and effective - one comment: need adjustment of the shelves height to the mitre saw level

Cool station! I need one and I will be using your simplicity!
Just started this today, love the look, the simplicity, and the functionality of the design. The kind of project this newbie DIYer needs. Thanks!
Just discovering you, good timing for me looking for this. Very well done, the bench, video, thank you.
So simple and yet so effective. Excellent ingenuity and application Tylynn.
I made this miter stand in my garage this past weekend and it came together pretty well. Really liking it

Just built this today and I’ve never felt more alive! Thanks a million for the video!
Love this. The only thing I would change is to pre drill the holes in the legs to help pull the legs and frames together.
Really simple , nice , and easy to build I like it I am going to use this
I just got done building mine
It looks amazing, however since this was my first build I didn’t do great job picking up the lumber so I did have minor challenges at the end but I overcame them and the finale results are great!!

OMG you make this look so incredibly easy! This popped up in my suggested videos. So glad it did! New subscriber!!!
Hello hello how are you congratulations on the great job great hug from Edson cunha 🇧🇷
Solid build. I hope to put up my miter station build up soon.
Edit: Done.
Thank you!
Need one like this

I made this table yesterday and I’m so happy with it ( and myself lol). Thanks for sharing the plans!
After building the first one, I now have 5 portable Shop tool Stands. Great idea...
Just built the Ryobi table saw bench from your plans. Perfect fit. Thank you for the plans. Keep up the fantastic work.
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing. I built this and I am very pleased with the results. I added some T-tracks to clamp the wood and rules. Thanks again for the video

Thanks! I just lined the brackets up so that the outfeed tables sit at the correct height for the saw (mine is 3 5/8"). I don't have any stickers as of now, but I might have to get some!
Just finished mine. Used 4” casters. Really easy to move about. Simple to construct😊
Looks amazing. I’ll be building one too. Thank you!
Absolutley Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for and super easy to follow.
Where did you get the plans and material list?
Nice work. If you pre-drill the holes, you won´t need as much force to tighten them. Keep up
Great build Ty-Lynn!
Victor, great feedback, you would think for the price of those brackets that would not happen, keep us posted on a fix please
@@TylynnM_ agreed. I used a hinge & scrap to a stop block, it falls and lays flat.
Wow glad to find this, that’s a great build. Gonna be my next project
Thanks ! I am just about finished. Question? Did you just have room to put 3 screws for the casters?
Thank you! I have all the links at the bottom of the post on my site but perhaps they are too buried. I appreciate the feedback!
Can anyone share how many 2x4’s to buy for this? And particleboard
I am just getting into woodworking and you're my role model! 🤩
Thank you - you're so kind!
Thx
Hi, my name is Rick, could you tell me how many 2 x 4s were used to build the portable stand???
Can anyone give me an idea at total
Cost of materials??? Trying to see if it would be cheaper to buy a stand for $180.
This will be my first time building something and i want to build this because i love this idea. My question is, to maximize space in my garage can I drawers in the middle of the bench?
Hi what is the reference for folding brackets thank you???
How many total 2 x 4 by eights are required for this project
What a great build. I may do the same. I've used 2x4s in a lot of my builds in the past, but I've found them a bit overkill for many projects. I now use 2x3s for many of my projects now. A bit cheaper and lighter.
Well done!! Was going with another design until i just happened to see this on the side...watched it, loved the idea, built the frame today and will get the brackets, partical board and casters. I did make mine a bit taller. Thanks for sharing!! Great job!!
I don’t want to sound like a moron, but when you say particle board, do you mean MDF?
Hola soy poncho de la ciudad de México me gusto mucho tu video bien explicado y queri pedirte si me mandas tus planos o medidas acabo de comprar una sierra angular
Watched a lot of table videos for my miter saw. Decided on yours as is. Great job!
No video and great free hand..
How strong are those brackets ?
Do you know the total weight they can handle. I want to make a wall mounted fold down bench with 4 of those brackets taking the weight
Great miter saw stand. Do you remember how many 2x4 were used for this project?
Nice build, but America needs to get off that BS that you call a measurement system. Metric is the way to go
Hi, great video. Loved your plan the best. Im actually going to build this today. I picked up my first chop saw yesterday. Question. I always have bad luck with wood screws because i think the metal is too soft and i usually end up stripping the screw-head before they are all the way seated. That is amazing. Definitely a space saver. Going to build me on. Thanks you an awesome video.
Hi, looks great im thinking of building one for myself
Are the wings flush with the deck of the saw? I couldn’t tell from the video.
I would of used some wood glue as well. Nice project though. I will be building this. 👍
How are the brackets & wings holding up?
Good video! But just a little advise for woodworking is use the wood screws with the torx head they are much easier to drive.
I'm definitely going to be switching to those soon
Finished this build last night! This thing is so simple and yet so awesome! So glad I bought the plans - super affordable and very helpful.
i do agree with
Perfect! And great website
Can someone explain the reason for the foldable sides, I'm new to diy.
What size particle board or plywood do you reccomend?
Hi guys can you tell me what do I need to do. when your arm fingers I cut and left others paralised
I love this build, but my question is are the side leafs taller than the deck of the miter saw?
Dude you’re a fucking gangster. Thank you
2:47 - in case you haven't already discovered them, you might appreciate a recommendation I just heard in v=6739bWT7jSA (a bit over 3 minutes in) to use screws with star bits (e.g.
Pretty slick, gets a like and a sub. Thanks.
