Some have experimented with flipping it around 180 degrees, meaning you can make 0 to 9 using only 3 segments! All these segmented displays are so creative.
I think for 3 segment displays, 1 and 7 can be done as the same thing and 4 and 9 can be done as the same thing and then blank for 0. So if u do 1 & 7, 2, 3, 4 & 9, 5, 6, 8 u can kinda get all the numbers. All u needed was 8 which u could do by lighting up the 1 and the loop and then got zero do nothing.

The fact 0 wasn’t just all lights turned off is making me unreasonably mad even tho it does make sense it wasn’t

Displays are to display info. Having 2 numbers the same makes it useless. Might as well have a dot that represents 0 thru 9.

Could you try making a segment display that can show all of the letters with the least amount of segments?
That would need 26 letters which means that u would need 7 segments if I calculated correct, if you also want 10 numbers u would need 8 segments
