Fun fact: dots on letters didn't exist previously and many letters looked identical; you were supposed to know the sound they make using context... dots were added just to accommodate learning Arabic for foreigners after the spread of Islam. Same story with the diacritics.
That aside... I appreciate that you're trying to learn Arabic, and I assure you that you will get many natives surprised (perhaps making backflips of joy)
Rasm explained.
You're talking about scripts not language. Arabic had many scripts throughout history.
Reading arabic requires full brain power istg
The letters now distinguished by dots used to have more shape distinction : the nun was a curvier backwards line while the taa was straight and the baa was slanted forward. People lacked the patience to curve the traits and came with the points instead.
@@MrMirville I did not know that... that's actually cool.

No, it's not further back. Depending on dialect it's the exact same sound or actually further forward in the throat.

And here you are talking about letters only, what do you think about grammar, morphology, and hidden pronouns? These are really difficult and difficult even for the Arabs themselves. Therefore, after all this, you find us learning letters and sounds from any language easily, such as nasal letters and letters that we never pronounce, but when we hear them for the first time, we can say them perfectly.

Actually the Arabic alphabet and pronounciation is considered harder for Americans (or English speakers in general) because English is a language spoken with your lips and teeth to slip out the correct pronounciation, while Arabic requires intermediate throat and tongue usage in order to pronounce words and letters correctly. The writing can also prove difficult since Arabic is written right to left and letters change in format when used in the beginning, middle, or end of a word.

Only in Egypt we say it as a g but its correct use is as a J
Not only Egypt
It's also some tribes in south of Saudi and also Oman and alot of Yemeni people.
Yemeni people literally don't pronounce j at all even if it's originally English
The jeem letter is pronounced G in most of Egypt (not even all of Egypt) but who are we to say what's correct? Even classical Arabic had dialects that used to pronounce letters differently and modern Arabic dialects evolved from some of them and kept some of their traits... Now if you really wanna go back like waaaay back the original Alfro-Asiatic (and proto-Semitic of course) sound for this letter was in fact G as it is in Babylonian, Phoenitian, Old Egyptian, Amharic etc. so...... Who's right, the Egyptians who stuck to the more archaic variant, the collonized countries that pronounce it like the French "j", the Khalijis, Iraqis, Kuwaitis and others who pronounce it closest to Qur'anic tajweed pronunciation or or or... The "standardized" jeem is a thing just because most of the Qur'an was revealed in the dialect of the Quraysh who pronounced it like that and they were just one tribe out od hundreds? Yeah........ Actually ع is deeper in the throat than the following ones you mention. Maybe that is why you are having a hard time xD you are trying to pronounce from the wrong place
As a muslim from Pakistan i am so glad that my own language

Dude, there’s literally another word for Arabic and I’m Arabic so I must know because there is one unknown letter that people struggle to say I think it’s dumb. It’s the most easy letter in Arabic so I feel like you would know how to say it since you know you’re a beginner, I actually live in somewhere that no one knows about unfortunately unfortunately no one knows about my country and I don’t know if you would know it to. I’ll just write it down Kuwait and now there you have it.
May Allah guide you to Islam.
Yeah the ق & خ are painful even for an Arabic speaker like me haha 😂
Well... Hang in there buddy, always remain persistent and determined and you will definitely get it. 👍🏾❤
“Just like your uncle at thanksgiving….lures you into a false sense of security”😭😭, fenomenal video como siempre

Arabic was a lingua franca between many nation including Europe. No one complained. It's not difficult, it is like every language need hard working.
lmao i laughed my ass of watching this vid. I'm an israeli palestinan (native language is arabic) and I can understand your frustration! I feel like we arabs ourselves also struggled learning the language growing up, especially with grammar ( one would find "E3rab" hard even if they're in high school). Good luck on your hard yet satisfying journey learning one of the most beautiful languages ever.
Off topic but wtf is an israeli palestinian 🙄😂 Like saying I'm a Nazi Jew or I'm a straight homosexual 😂
I am arab, even most arabs cannot get high marks in arabic grammar test because advanced arabic grammars gets difficult and requires someone to have a college degree on it. Most of us know the basics besides we have different arabic slangs speaking we don't speak the original arabic.
