I Appear Missing is one goddamn ode to music. All hail QOTSA.
i would compared to symphaty for the devil or starway to heaven
+Tobias Gerdin word
I've prepared a tattoo to pay homage to that song.
QOTSA are my favorite band i do not get the crazed love for "i appear missing" .... it would lose to "the fun machine took a shit and died" in round one
100%
I do not think I have ever heard such a sad, beautiful, powerful rock song about dying as "I Appear Missing". Amazing
I'm glad that I'm not the only one that realizes how special "I Appear Missing" is. This song has truly done some major stuff to my soul. It's heartwrenching and beautiful at the same time, which I think equals out to it being fucking EPIC. FUCKING. EPIC.
that ending is crazy 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah, what you said. When I hear "Carnavoyeur" off the new album "... In Times New Roman," I sometimes get the feeling that song is having a conversation with "I Appear Missing" -as if to say: Having been on both sides, whatever that means... I'm here and not here, so now what?
"I never loved a thing until I loved you" is such a badass line
Josh Homme. Great guitar player and consistently sings on key. That's a rarity now a days.
No surprise, the guy is a rock-god.
He’s got some gnarly riffs
This bassist is incredible. Him and Jon are a killer rhythm section. Best line up Josh has ever had.
Ha. I don’t care if he was only drumming for 60 seconds but Dave Grohl is a marginally better drummer than Jon…..or anyone else for that matter pertaining to QOTSA.
@@OlinKreutzRulesDave Grohl disagrees with you 100%. He admits he "hits real hard," but lacks the technical genius of guys like Taylor Hawkins (may he RIP) and Jon Theodore. And this show's 11 yrs old... Mikey Shoes was 26, maybe? This most recent album and tour-holy sh*t what he and Jon Theodore are doing? Nobody else does it. They would if they could. 🖤🖤🖤 Edit: Remember that time Kurt sang and played solo rather than risk Dave screwing up because he had never once played with brushes before?
Best line up anyone is gonna find out here in these streets... Mikey Shoes has no limits, and he's a kid, and by kid I mean
This is just for me on mobile so I can easily use time stamps

✨⚡️THANK YOU ⚡️✨
Thank you. I never came Is now my favourite song
The MVP of Christmas 2023 😅
I can still love you for doing this and you cannot stop me! 🖤🖤🖤
might be the best version of "i never came" ever recorded. I like it better than the album. Not sure why that song isn't a staple in their live set. It's def one of their best.
check out belfort 05. you wont be disappointed
and Berlin 2005 live acoustic
This whole concert is incredible, but I agree this is my favorite version of I never came. Flawless.
Where Josh and QOTSA have taken their sound and their live show is fucking amazing. This show is a total rush. What I wouldn't give to see the sold out show at The Forum in LA this Halloween. Brilliant songwriting and the finest execution imaginable! Not since I was a kid listening to Led Zeppelin have I felt so outside myself while listening to a band. Damn did the desert breed greatness. From the rawest most outside to the most finely tuned refined musicianship.....I love where I live!
I was at this show. Which was the album release party. And i went to the Halloween final concert of the tour at the forum. My favorite band ever.
What a raw talent. Josh consistently impresses me as he produces such interesting and unique music with each new record. He is able to retain his style and sound without making the same record over and over again. I've seen them in concert four times and will go again the first chance I get.
Jon Theodore is a BEAST. I really hope he's in it for the long haul.
Yes he is.
Thankfully yes.
u beast
He's good but the third best drummer in qotsa history
@@ggthewhale I know everyone is all over Dave and Joey, but I personally think Jon is the most technically skilled, versatile and tasteful. QOTSA still plays fast and loud, but it’s pretty noticeable that they’re focusing a bit more on precision and complexity which makes sense since they’re older and much more mature. Jon fits that shoe perfectly, I’m positive he would’ve done an incredible job with them in their earlier days as well, just like he did with The Mars Volta back in the day.
If you mean that you have never heard of the queens of the stone age before then you're in for a treat.
I Appear Missing - stunning performance
"I Appear Missing" will be thought of years from now as being classic QOTSA. What a powerful song.
Thanks for posting, Simone! I was there, and the whole time I was thinking, "Everyone NEEDS to see this band." They get better with every album, and with every show.
One of the perks of seeing a show in LA is that you never know who's going to show up. I about lost my shit when Alain Johannes walked out to open.
Lucky you!
Like all QOTSA albums , they take a while to grow on me , but the more I listen to the new songs , the more I am in awe of how Josh Homme creates music , he is without doubt one of the best songwriters on the planet at the moment .
The last 3 or so minutes of 'I Appear Missing' is one of my favourite musical moments for at least a few years
💯
It's so cool seeing Josh behind a piano. He's a talented boy.
One of the best concert I've ever been to. I'm still amazed at how great they sounded. I feel lucky to have been there. So inspiring.
Did anyone hear what I heard? Skip over at 53:38
Right after the line "You ain't a has-been if you never was", Josh says "ain't that right, Brant?"
Yup 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
the audio doesn't do the audience justice. we were all losing our shit throughout the entire show.
No-one cares about your noise
Thanks to QOTSA for allowing this to continue! It's always reassuring when a band (regardless of participants) makes it more about the music than the money!
Always thankful!
Jon Theodore is one of my all-time favorite drummers. A complete animal technically and has some real taste with his playing. Just go listen to the first 3 The Mars Volta albums, that's some serious skill. Glad QotSA picked this guy up. Great band, great performance here.
I was there. I had goosebumps the whole show because of how crazy good they sounded. One of the best concerts I've ever been to in my life.
I love this new album, I just wish the vinyl was not so expensive.
We retro-guys do have to pay a premium, don't we. I rarely buy new vinyl anymore because it is so pricey. I do get it as gifts though for my birthday and stuff...idea perhaps? Makes it even more special.
Your assuming I have people around me that like me enough to buy me present's, lol. Good idea though. I got this from Amazon for $27 bcuk's. A little steep but just had to have it. Rock on..
I’m just so thankful that josh is well and blessed and here to share his thoughts and kindness with us so amazing stay healthy and fucking talented ❤️🩹❤️
The extended solo to appear missing should've been on the album... but I understand why its not. Can always listen to it here.
dinojr 87
so fuckin' right
They need a live album
Will Whitworth so true
Jon Theodore is a monster. Cannot wait to hear what the next QOSA studio album will sound like with him behind the kit.
Me too!
jspanos500 what do you think???
I Appear Missing is such an monster live! I wish it had that solo-outro part on the album! God, I loved that!
💯
Have watched from beginning to end, what a great show!
They have crushed their own epicness with even more epicness!
Who the fuck dislikes this? I don't understand, I really don't. I suddenly feel very very pissed off.
wtf is so great about it
I went to see the show and it was ABSOLUTELY mind blowing - these guys are ridiculously fantastic at what they do and it shows. Queens never dissapoints! AND yes this volume situation is not doing it justice BUT the upload is very much appreciated :)
Absolutely love this album!! Best album by any band in a number of years! Cannot wait for Sunday in Dublin!!
This tour was absolutely phenomenal. Killer set list and fantastic energy by the band
Man their new songs are awesome! I got my bromance back for Josh and QOTSA. Fantastic new drummer! The end part of "I Appear Missing" gives me the same ecstatic feeling as the end of Jimi's "Axis : Bold As Love" . Kind of just takes you and lifts you up. Anyone else?
Just got into it recently. It's been on repeat ever since - such an underrated gem. ❤️🩹
@@mi_casa_es_su_casa it's an awesome song.
This is how it's done! This is a fantastic show of musicianship, and a testament to how Josh has grown as a composer, song writer. Well done sir, you won't.ever see some of these over produced younger "artists" actually put on a stage show of this caliber. Amazing 3
Amazing musicians!
They are!!!!
QOTSA is always consistent as one of the best live rock bands of the last 20 years.
saw them lastnight in dublin , fucking brilliant , amazing !

Amazing!! the more i listen to the album the more i fall madly in love with it. the end of 'I appear missing' in this show is just phenomenal!!!
O M G ! ! ! ! !
The outro of "I Appear Missing" . . . . . . . . ! ! ! ! ! !
The three part harmony from Josh, Mikey and Troy on Kalopsia is so amazing. And Mikey's screams are brutal as always.
Wow!! I stumbled upon this on a late night treadmill session. Bored with whatever late late late night had to offer on the latest NBA "star" who signed an 80 million dollar contract...I flipped past public television. Wait a minute! Was that...? No. It couldn't have been, could it?? I didn't realize my mind was about to be blown by Iowa Public Television! This show is one for the ages. The set list? Oh my. Yes, there are some tunes missing, but who cares??? Maybe they didn't play your "favorite." I say find another. There are so many to choose from. My favorite changes from day to day with this band.
There are no words for this show...all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride. Kudos to Josh and the rest of the boys. They never let me down.
definitely their best album, and i love them all. a real band. qotsa IS rock n' roll!
There's phenomenal songs on this album but Kalopsia is just a cut above. It's just a masterpiece.
i agree
Love the swagger in "Smooth Sailing". Reminds me of "I'm Designer".
great Music...
Favorit: I Appear Missing ...
such an amazing album, IMO one of their best! They just keep getting better!
Queens of the Stone Age should do a Tiny Desk appearance.
So glad I got to go to this show! My head and voice are still blown!
124 people ain't worth a dollar....
TheSullyLad 7000+ feel like a millionaire
and counting...
A poetic, brilliant new album, both musical, lyrics and sublime synchronous concert visuals ! Thank you....!!!
so effing awesome!

Yes I did and then I flew to LA on Halloween night for the last concert of the tour.. BADASS!! Not only that but the next night I caught Marilyn Manson at The Roxy..so freaking awesome!
Roxy C wow baby girl... all of that rocks tremendously!! So excited for you!! I tell you what... if you please help keep me up to date on concerts that you find, I will try to do the same!! H-Town can have some badass concerts and comedians. Maybe we can even meet up sometime!! #Peacelovemusic always sweet Roxy~ Summer)) #QOTSA
I was at the Halloween concert as well! It was fucking awesome!
just can't stop listening to this over and over again...
They don't really play "I never came" live anymore, lucky those who were there that night...
Awesome performance, I love Troy and Mikey's backing vocals, really great lineup.
anyone else get a bowie-esq feel from like clockwork the whole album?
Yupp. From the villains too
Ohmuhgawd! We live in a marvelous time - 20 years from now I'd still be rocking out to new age muzac when I'm 50.
53:39 aint that right brant
Watched this about three times already, I'm still blown away by it.
I wish I had a gf
super concert (vu a Lyon) et quel final avec l'envolé des corbeaux !
This was such a great show. It's awesome that I get to see it again.
Man, the riff to keeps your eyes peeled is a fucking chainsaw killer ! Love it !
Their passion soothes me so nice.
josh is always wonderfully in tune live
2 hours of pure musical greatness!🤘🏻
I can’t get over how there’s (at least as of today so many yrs later here since performed..) that there’s 191 people that’s got on here and have this a ‘thumbs down’?! I mean, what exactly is it that makes some of these people want to do that?!! If you’re a avid fan of true rock music, how can you go wrong with these guys?! My God, they’ve only put out 1 after another after another after another etc etc etc. for yrs now of just f’kn pure awesome ass sounding music! Unless this total of 191 people on here voting a thumbs down were mixed up of ones who just don’t like rock music at all, don’t like QOTSA for whatever reason(s), just trying to piss whoever off by giving the thumbs down or....? Idk, w/the way people are in this world today, who the F knows what goes thru diff ones minds and/or makes em do the stupid sh*t they do?!! IMO though...?! This band ever so just f’kn rocks like a m’fkr, PERIOD!!!!
i appear missing is definitely a masterpiece, i say that to all my friends that like qotsa they didnt realized it yet. im just glad qotsa will come to portugal this summer, it will be fantastic watching them performing this new album live
I have died and gone to heaven! Thanks QOTSA!
Every time I see them live, they seem better and better. I feel privileged to have been there in person.
This is exactly what i needed.
Jon Theodore is a great addition to the band. I can't wait to hear his contribution going forward. His technique is amazing. He played with feeling and great tempo with drumming gymnastics thrown in there too.
It's a little tiny bit crazy that this was almost 6 years ago!?! I listened to this live on NPR and I am so pleased that you have it here. I'm pretty sure your post of this is the one I went to the next day (after it originally aired) and listened to again like 3 times in a row, and then again pretty much every day for like a month straight. It's been a little while; I listened to Them Crooked Vultures today after a hiatus for a couple of years; made me want to hear this performance again. I'm so happy it's still here; this is gooood stuff. Thank you for posting it. Huh, on a side note, since nobody really reads this mess anymore anyway, I'm going to now go listen to some Blue Cheer and Sir Lord Baltimore, (which I've never heard of before) because apparently they are kind of like Hawkwind. I discovered this just now while searching for Them Crooked Vultures release date. I saw a link to a band called O Pensamento É um Ímã and an album they have called Thought is a Magnet. When I searched for that, Monster Magnet came up; an article I read about them informed me that the comic book character Negasonic Teenage Warhead was named for the Monster Magnet song; the article mentions Hawkwind, Blue Cheer and Sir Lord Baltimore. I have had the pleasure of seeing an iteration of Hawkwind years ago and would love to hear some similar stuff. Okay that is all. All hail the awesomeness of music.
I've been listening to this video every day while working, and I hate how it makes that Windows notification sound around 18:30! Cause it makes me think I missed a work email when I look for it and it's not there! lol but AWESOME concert! Josh Homme is the man!
Fantastic share Simone! The band is in top form here. I haven't seen them with John Theodore, now I know I need to. HOLY SHIT, that is one badass drummer!
I appear missing is my favourite recorded, but live, wow, incredible, Troy and Josh soloing like brothers in arms, intense song, definitely intense live, can't wait to see them on tour!
I love this version of the song. its so touching.
My girlfriend did the same thing for my birthday, We're seeing them in Brooklyn this December, can't wait! I love her so much.
I recalled the night I was there, it was freaking awesome, the vibe flowing in the stage plus the floor feels like 10,000 volts of energy, instant endorphins...
The best show e set list Stone rock de 2013 , 😍
The sound on this has been diluted; It sounded phenomenal when live streaming direct with NPR. I am so glad it is still up, even if the sound is a wee bit cloudy. If you can strain your ears to hear beyond the cloudy, you will find the awesome.
today QOTSA in Argentina!!!
I was at this show, best show ive ever been to. They sounded amazing and tight. Alains opening was great
Ive had this playing in my house since it was posted. Killer band (the best at the moment) with great players. New album material has really grown on me....like anything great does.
i been listening LC since day 1, and i just can say that, I Appear Missing has become from a "good song" to an essencial part of my life.
the version of this concert still makes me cry.
Such a beautiful performance - QOTSA exceeds and slowly reaches the level of GOAT rock bands level!
...Like Clockwork is such a perfect album to me, it’s helped so much for me and it’s so beautiful
Thanks for posting this! I was too late to catch it on NPR. Super stoked to finally see it.
I know. I think that made it even better in my mind. I mean just the calm, graceful verses combined with the kick-ass chorus. Just awesome
Like Clockwork touched me even more. That solo is fantastic.
The new drummers name is Jon Theodore. He is one of the greatest drummers I have ever seen and I study them all. His work with the Mars Volta is beyond amazing. Its an honor for any band to play with him
These guys are one of the best live bands around now who make rock seem very much still alive, and why have I still not gone to see them?
Just saw them an hour ago in Cincinnati and they were great. Absolute great concert to go to.
The transition between Smooth Sailing and Little Sister was fantastic
QOTSA is cooming to my town next week. I'm so excited!!!
The elongated jam at the end of "I Appear Missing" is one of their most epic jams. I seen Queens perform their first album 4-11-11 Oakland Fox theatre (look it up via RUclips!), and this is the only jam equal to that from my experience. Don't get me wrong the whole album is unbelievable!
Thanks for uploading this! The quality is great! And the new songs, well.. I LOVE them!!!
