    That was some beautiful country my friend. How often does the grass catch on fire. It’s good people who stand their ground. My friend and I had started up a Jeep trail in the mountains and we were going over big rocks and driving the Jeep up on its side to get around things. We got about a mile up that trail and there set a cutlass supreme Oldsmobile at a camp site and it didn’t have a scratch on it. How in the world he got up there is still a mystery to me. My friend didn’t brag about his Jeep being to go anywhere after seeing that car. Great video my friend and man, that pie looked larrupin good.

    Look into an leaf blower that takes the same batteries as your power tools. It comes in handy for blowing dust out and off when travelling. Like your bike, the back of the car, trailer floor etc.

    Up ahead motorhome saying, “I think I can, I think I can.” Just like Tommy the Train storybook. 🚂 I can’t help but wonder if the rv driver really knew what to expect or got caught up with nowhere to turn around? I appreciated the clear shot of Jarbridge’s storyboard as I was able to take a screenshot and enlarge so as to read a bit of local history. Your initial riverside campsite was great affording a wonderful cooling off spot in the water which y’all appeared to thoroughly enjoy.

    Howdy Travelers. This is one Groovy little Gem of a hideout town, we are happy you found it. Too bad it's tucked away and not easy to get there but I like the place. It has a Vib of it's own. After another heat wave we finally got a reprieve and Fall is in the air & the best time for Desert Trekking. Cool nights and pleasent day Temps. Thanks for another soothing video of a nice relaxed time along with your great Narration. The Stream/Creek, scene was best. Keeps me thinking how the simple joys are always the ones we remember. Thanks. Interesting little town. I have driven as much as 250 miles of gravel in our motor home in a day. Not sure I would do it again. We still find dust from that road, and it was in 2018.That was in Labrador from Happy Valley/Goose Bay to the ferry at Banc Sablon, QE. The final 60 miles were paved. Earlier in that trip we climbed an 18% grade at a dam in QE. Fun times.

    Rick and Linda, you know you have us hooked when we continue to watch an almost 30 minute video of yours' that is mainly driving on a dirt road. The food you had in the Outdoor Inn in that little town looked excellent even for a burger and fries. The pie looked delicious as it stimulated the taste buds. I thought the footage of the sitting in the creek was priceless with the laughter, the little shrieks brought on by the cold water and the sight of a good cigar. Rick, one question. Where did you get the hat? I like the ventilation it provides and it looks cool. You have to have that "cool guy" look when out on adventures. Keep up the great videos and be careful. Also, it was good to see that motorhome kept on trucking by after you set up camp.

    When they had the freedom revolt I had a bunch of friends that were involve. I donated some money to the cause. One storey they told me is that the head of the forest service in Elko started the closure it was a lady, when she tried to buy gas the gas station owner turned off the pumps and told her he was out of gas, also when she went to the grocery store she a basket full but when she got to the check out the clerk told her she had to go to the bathroom and never came back. The Forest Service transferred her out pretty quickly.

    Our family used to go up to wild horse reservoir for summer vacations to fish . Last time there was 1972 and dad took us all to jarbidge. We came up from the south all dirt road and much worse then you see here.

    Thanks for showing how much fun Jarbidge is.
    I think the most worthwhile destinations are on dirt roads.

    That canyon was breathtaking and frightening. What are your internet speeds with Starlink at that particular location. Also, how many watts does it use. Thanks

    • @gonagain
      @gonagain  2 года назад +1

      It averages about 45 watts and the download speeds were 35 to 65mbps and upload around 10mbps.

      Thanks for watching. Linda knew about the Hawaiian trappers and wanted to go there. Seeing the stone building like those in Hawaii made her feel at home.

      It's a place where you really need to take those side roads across the desert to get into the mountains. All those ranges that you see are beautiful when you get into them.

    We have a 28ft Lance trailer that we love but I’m thinking of building a small teardrop for more remote outings. I wasn’t planning on brakes since it would be under 2k pounds. We tow with a 22 Ram with very good brakes. Is your trailer over 2k? Also does it feel like it needs brakes?
    Thanks for the wonderful videos.👌🏻

    • @huckleberrychris
      @huckleberrychris 2 года назад +3

      I use to drive semi. Brakes also help stabilize the trailer so it doesn't jack knife when you stop. A teardrop is a lot smaller 🤣but it will go sideways and damage the trailer and your beautiful new truck. I've seen one that broke off and rolled over. Luckily the safety chains kept it attached.

      As a former Rv 'er who has since retired, you won't regret putting brakes on your trailer. The extra stopping power of the trailer with brakes kept me from crashing in a downhill stop on a turn in the road, there are no shortcuts when it comes to safety.

    • @gonagain
      @gonagain  2 года назад +1

      It'll be safer over all to have brakes on the trailer. Those steep and long rough downgrades are tough on the vehicle's brakes. And I agree with Chris and William's comments too.

    Oh my, PIE!!!
    Has to be the addiction worse than drugs or alcohol!!!
    Best pie I ever had, decades ago, at the Loyalton Hotel in Loyalton CA, north of Truckee. FORTUNATELY, only one slice, green apple, was available!
    HAHAHA!!!
    Well, anxious to see where the road pulls you next time.

    Yes, you can get to Jarbidge from the West. All the roads into Jarbidge are really good roads no problem driving them unless it is in the depths of winter when things could be a bit icy.

    The best way from the south is to take higway 225 which goes from Elko to Owyhee, there is a road off that that goes to jarbidge, still dirt but a lot less dirt road. it is going to be my next trip. I have atv'd the bruneau river just below there never got to Jarbidge.

    Watching that motorhome go up that narrow mountain road reminded me of a legendary story of the first time our family took a motorhome trip in the early 1970s near Huntington Lake, California. My Dad loved exploring so he took the Winnebago Brave with my mom and us 6 kids up the infamous Kaiser Pass Road. My mom said the road got so narrow that when she looked out the passenger window, all she saw was deep drop down since the tires on the Brave were inset! Us kids, normally loud and fighting, turned totally quiet as the gravity of the situation became apparent. My Dad ended up having to reverse down several hundred feet to get back to a place where he could turn around. One of those things that became family legend and you laugh about now but no-one was laughing then...
